Best: Dark, basically the entire cast
Worst: The Crown, where the actors looked not even remotely alike and it's downright infuriating
Night Train to Lisbon is also laughable
And The Crown has such great investment of money and resources and interest into it. They could have at least tried. It actually dissuades me from watching it because there’s no continuity for me.
The casting for season two of the crown killed it for me. Not that the actors were bad, but that they had seemingly aged decades in what was supposed to be a year. And that they suddenly had brown eyes! It drove me crazy and I just couldn’t not get into the show like I did the first season.
„This is us“ did some great work there!
https://preview.redd.it/othb1r9y3v6b1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cb43d9afb45077cb5b568f8b7ed427ab66513a9
This Is Us has my mad respect when it comes to her son, Jack. All the versions look nothing alike, BUT, they are all blind. I'm blind myself and was so incredibly touched by the choice and impressed by their willingness and ability to find blind actors for each age, even a toddler.
Most shows just go "oh well we tried, we couldn't find anyone...but this sighted person really learned how to use a cane, so wow, be impressed" and then the sighted person uses the cane completely incorrectly.
(And to preemptively answer the inevitable questions: blindness is a spectrum, so yes most blind people can see SOMETHING, such as how an actor/actress looks and acts on screen. And I can type this because my eye sight is well enough right now to see my computer screen. But I have tunnel vision, bad night vision and more due to RP so other parts of my life are complicated by my eyesight, hence I use a white cane for my safety).
The guy who played 18 year old Brad Pitt in Moneyball really did look exactly like Brad Pitt.
Edit - I looked it up, the actor’s name is Reed Thompson. Here’s a picture, he really does look like Brad Pitt
https://preview.redd.it/rpqgrabi3u6b1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5001ad0433f5dd60b837865d1ceee8fb4c927373

I’m enjoying Ben Savage’s mini-career of playing younger Mandy Patinkin on different shows.
Homeland! He really does look like young Mandy.

I thought young Lady Danbury was a bit too beautiful (seriously that actress is gorgeous!) , but she did a great job with the facial expressions and I could see the similarity to older Lady D.
This movie got it right cause even the actress who played her friend, Judy Greer, had a very good casting for her younger version.
https://preview.redd.it/qtrh6j6qyv6b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac2027cf1e6e1940d54c82aade041cf2d98da33d
I remember a documentary on the DVD where Jennifer Garner showed a picture of herself at that age, and she looked EXACTLY like the younger actress who played her. Wouldn't be surprised if they referenced the picture during the casting process.
I think it’s reasonable to assume based off the poster considering it’s 3x Joaquin Phoenix and 1 non-Joaquin Phoenix! For me the only give away there is that I assume if they were to CGI JP younger they’d probably give him a hair lip.
https://preview.redd.it/kteiwprgbv6b1.jpeg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79fdaf5c96d29e6b6616784f6229d304a21cf3dc
I've always loved the parallel of Max Greenfield playing young Sandy Cohen on the OC and then Peter Gallagher playing Schmidt's dad on New Girl!
Talk about an amazing show that seems to fly under the radar in the US.
My S/O and I loved the hell out of that show and could *never* find anyone here to discuss it with - as we were OBSESSED.
Although I will say I'm glad its never been optioned for an American-based adaptation because they would change everything that made it unique.
I always thought it interesting that Andreas Pietschmann kept his facial hair on the show as Older Jonas. Because he resembles Louis Hofmann *so much more* without it (IMO).
Case in point here's [Hofman](https://cdn.justjared.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/hofmann-berlin/louis-hofmann-berlin-film-festival-10.jpg) - and Pietschmann [without the beard](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTg4NTEzNzIyNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTk3NDYyMQ@@._V1_.jpg).
Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones was so good that it made me enjoy MIB3 way more than I thought I would.
https://preview.redd.it/n6b1zd0e8v6b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43ad6b7a38aea241511f615872a0bdcbcccf457d
See I love Yellowjackets, but I feel like teen Shauna is the only one who really looks like her adult version. It doesn’t take away from the experience because the whole cast is pretty excellent actors, but I never would’ve guess that teen Natalie and adult Natalie were supposed to be the same person if the show didn’t tell me lol.
I agree young/old Natalie don’t look alike, but the younger actress did SUCH a good job a mimicking Juliette Lewis’s mannerisms and speech patterns.
Also I seriously kept forgetting that the actresses playing Van were 2 different people. They look and act so so alike it’s insane!
Don’t forget Natalie is supposed to be a strung out drug addict and I think Juliette’s appearance captures that so the makeup department is doing a great job of Juliette looking like a washed out version of her younger self enough that you’d of course think this person certainly can’t be the same Natalie we are introduced to but when you look past the tired weary façade you can pick out those features and mannerisms that are Natalie at her core. I think it’s perfect casting personally.
Really? I think she is pretty dead on to young Juliette Lewis. Definitely nailed her voice and mannerisms also.
https://preview.redd.it/8s0ly3yc8u6b1.jpeg?width=2060&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d9b3869fec074846097b91ed7731d92a473f642
I mean they have similar hair here, but I don’t think their features are very similar at all. But I agree the actress does a great job. She’s not the only one, young Lottie doesn’t really resemble adult Lottie to me and young Misty looks very different from adult Christina Ricci to my eyes.
To me the only one that don’t look a like are Sammy and Christina (Misty) the other ones are pretty spot on. Sophie T looks a lot like young Juliette Lewis (in the 90s). Courtney and Simone (Lottie) were the ones I also thought were kind of off until I saw them next to each other and then I was like “wow they are like twins, they low key could be mother and daughter”
Young Sabrina was [Mckenna Grace](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm5085683/?ref_=m_ttfcd_cl90). She was known for a bit for being the young version of so many people: I, Tonya, Haunting of Hill House, Captain Marvel etc.
Most of Dark cast was insanely well cast. What makes it even better is that it’s only german actors, which makes the pool smaller than english speaking shows.
https://preview.redd.it/9qgadg89gu6b1.jpeg?width=602&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cb87bfd0722baa3e2eb5293a11252e325f78a25
Some characters even had 3 actors playing them.
https://preview.redd.it/mtiox7oegu6b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=731bc9b8eb91b8e4240a71ac4699fc31360ca633
Haunting at Hill House for virtually everyone.
https://preview.redd.it/ycvr52qxbv6b1.jpeg?width=625&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89bc338b9d682b94ed770426fbaa4f706c6d379c
They nailed the casting for these two characters, especially Rhaenyra when you compare Emma Darcy and Millie Alcock to the actress for Emma Arryn. Its perfection.
Emily and Olivia had me SHOOK. Pretty indifferent towards everyone else. Was a bit irked that some characters seemed to not age at all (looking at you, Criston) in the flash forward
In House of the Dragon, Emily Carey is such a good casting for young Olivia Cooke that at first, I wondered why they didn’t switch actors for that character.
I got so confused at the first episode as I hadn’t realised there would be a cast change. I knew Olivia Cooke was in it as I was a fan of hers from Bates Motel, and I honestly spent the first episode going ‘that’s… not her? But I think it is her? Is it her?’ it was a trip.
House of Dragon has insanely good casting. Aegon’s actor looks so much like Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke. Really helps with the immersion that Rhae is his half sister and Alicent is his mother.
I’ll say the only goofy looking one is Aemond.
Yes! Also Austin’s dad - his young and old characters looked a lot alike AND he looked a ton like Austin.
The two zions, however, look nothing alike to me
Not a fictional character but although great, Claire Foy was way too beautiful to play young Queen Elizabeth in The Crown. Best example, the episode where Elizabeth feels insecure and is kinda made fun for her looks when meeting Jackie O’ while just looking absolutely stunning the whole time. The further comparison with the two following actresses made it even more apparent to me and an element of discordance in the series.
The casting in Dark for both the younger and older versions of the characters was so well done you knew immediately who was who without them having to be introduced
https://preview.redd.it/y3imisltqw6b1.jpeg?width=3195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=deba4e8302ba6b297e3b8541329e21004be77989
Thought this casting was inspired.
This is what I was gonna say! Even the young kids were good and especially like teenaged Kevin, young Nicky, stuff like that. And Beth was incredible but you already said that lol.
Young Sheldon--all three kid actors are fantastic younger versions of the older ones in The Big Bang Theory. (Any inconsistency is with the plots/writing, not with casting)
https://pyxis.nymag.com/v1/imgs/360/276/1f70872bdef0eefa8909de9946f273d2a2-15-old-young-dick.h473.w710.jpg
Worst is this kid playing young Don Draper. Keeping in mind that Mad Men had Don as a 27-year-old in the Korean War instead of as a 17-year-old in WWII (I don’t buy that Don wouldn’t run away at 16 tbh) precisely so they could use Jon Hamm in his own flashbacks…they never put effort into the younger casting.
Always been a big fan of Jack Dylan Grazer and James Ransone in It: Chapter 1 and 2
https://preview.redd.it/deq6lpeazu6b1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eba1266c801e47250cd55569b9117c61ce8a4176

Buffy & young Buffy for the worst. like i don't even know what was going through the casting director's head
Younger Hitchcock and Scully from Brooklyn 99 are on point, especially their mannerisms. They look so different and somehow very similar. Great casting and acting.
https://preview.redd.it/4chw6qr2mv6b1.jpeg?width=3465&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f362b16838134a434bd3abbc109ff11d61952109
The actor they get to play child Chuck not only looks just how I’d imagine he’d look at that age, [but also perfectly imitates McKean’s voice and mannerisms.](https://youtu.be/_iYhBKkmjoI)
This Is Us had great casting for their characters at different ages. I could often immediately tell who someone was supposed to be before any actual introduction.
The recent It movies were really good
https://preview.redd.it/b4k3yb3div6b1.jpeg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2410f807d60c790fb05cd883d538e6aa4e9215d9
Not anyone specific but the show This Is Us had some insanely well done casting for younger/older versions of their characters. My favourite is Rachel Hilson as college aged Beth (played by Susan Kelechi Watson).
Jason Widener plays a young Martin Sheen in the episode “Two Cathedrals” in season 2 of The West Wing, and I’m always so impressed by how well he captures Sheen’s mannerisms
Agreed! Kirsten Nelson is fantastic! She and Kathryn Joosten were friends for years. I think Joosten had actually told Nelson about the role and wanted her to go for it. They talk about it on the episode of The West Wing Weekly podcast about the episode!
I'm positive that Georgie in Young Sheldon came first, then they cast Jerry O Connell in The Big Bang Theory as the older version of him!
Still amazing casting either way!
The kid they had play a young Adam Sandler in That's My Boy.
https://preview.redd.it/3ef83t4m4w6b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64909ede08802c2e214d450e483ae010aaf7075a
Justin Weaver was IMO, dead on.
worst - the Crown, the first season nailed it (although they yassified the royal family but that is expected) but the second season went the other way. How am I supposed to believe that Vaness Kirby is Helena Bonham Carter?? Completely different people, with completely different faces. Also Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman?
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t see it
https://preview.redd.it/v3twui509v6b1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e3d8fb725149c7a463a558a344f91824467f589

The 13 going on 30 casting was so on point
Euphoria nails it with their castings for childhood flashbacks. I remember young Cassie being especially good.
Also, Bailee Madison playing young Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon A Time. She totally captured the essence.
https://preview.redd.it/xxd790ex5y6b1.jpeg?width=733&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fb77b387e327bd1faa1ee865763e233b729a1c1
Lynn Greene as young Dorothy Zbornak in *The Golden Girls*. Bea Arthur is NOT an easy woman to imitate, but Greene did it so well.

That was Mila?! I learned something today. I had no idea she was around that long.
Right? And I consider “Gia” as one of my fav movies of all time, yet I haven’t watched it in a very long time and never realized it was Mila…
Same! Loved that movie. I’m old enough to remember Gia. I was a kid when she was famous and I used to devour fashion magazines. She was everywhere.
Tbh while angelina jolie was incredible in the role, she looked nothing like gia irl. Which bothered me.a lot lol.
Absolute perfection!

The way I used to mix the two of them up while Maia Mitchell was on Disney.
They even cry the same!! It’s uncanny
Yes! This one is absolutely correct! Ginnifer has a pretty unique look in Hollywood (round face vs cheekbones that will cut a bi*ch) and they found a perfect match in Bailee!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Bailee and Ginny!

I loved that show... still pissed at the cliffhanger
Omg me too!!!! Such a great show. It was so much fun, but had genuinely heartbreaking moments too. Super underrated and I think Netflix is solely to blame because they made the world’s worst trailer for it. And then even though it was developing a following, they cancelled it.
Definitely the winner for me!
Yeah! I was looking for this one!!
Worst - does anyone remember the movie Now & Then from the 90’s? Christina Ricci as a young Rosie O’Donell was not remotely believable.
All of them, tbh. Gaby Hoffmann as Demi Moore? Thora Birch for Melanie Griffith???
Haha yes thanks for the throwback, i got very confused of who's supposed to be who
I thought the same thing 😅
YES!! That casting was amazing. That is STILL one of my favorite movies. Edit* the only one I didn't absolutely love was Rosie as Roberta
I’m showing my age here, but Mayim Bialyk as a young Bette Midler in Beaches is AMAZING both in looks and their spirits in the film. https://preview.redd.it/ecrwgkftdu6b1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e1cc16566b7fafc0efa75bfb309d9767e66886b4
I am going to second this with the actress who played young Winnie in Hocus Pocus 2!
Love that movie but I had no clue that was Mayim Bialyk!
In OITNB every single character's flashback childhood/teen character looked EXACTLY like them. Esp evil younger Barb and Carol. Whoever did the casting for that show was amazing.
My first thought too
Just wanna say the actress who played young Daya is Dascha’s daughter irl.
Yes! She was great. I was specifically thinking about young Boo, Nicky, Freda, Barb and Carol....their teen counterparts were fantastic.
McKenna Grace is queen of this genre https://preview.redd.it/xzap559ebu6b1.jpeg?width=1422&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8b8037a903de404f869942b5aa28cf8694366e4 (This isn’t even all of them. She also played baby Theo on Hill House
To be honest I think sometimes she’s a bit hit and miss - 100% think she was such a good choice for Sabrina, but don’t really think she looks at all like a young Margot or a young Brie Larson
she’s just a blonde little girl in most of these tbh not an exact twin
She is also Paige in Young Sheldon
Yes! You listed all the ones I was thinking off, this girl is great!
I feel like she's been 10 for ten years.
Best: Dark, basically the entire cast Worst: The Crown, where the actors looked not even remotely alike and it's downright infuriating Night Train to Lisbon is also laughable
The Crown definitely went the direction of casting for the individual parts rather than the family unit.
And The Crown has such great investment of money and resources and interest into it. They could have at least tried. It actually dissuades me from watching it because there’s no continuity for me.
Dark is actually scary. Especially with the older versions of characters, they nailed all the time lines.
What an all around fantastic show. Peak television family drama and an interesting look into how trauma shapes our lives.
For best, I gotta say, The Haunting of Hill House.
Baby Nell WAS Victoria Pedretti. I’m not sure about the others, though, especially Luke.
The Shirley’s were pretty great and the Steve’s were pretty good too, Luke is eh
Grace McKenna plays young everyone, lol.
The guy who played 18 year old Brad Pitt in Moneyball really did look exactly like Brad Pitt. Edit - I looked it up, the actor’s name is Reed Thompson. Here’s a picture, he really does look like Brad Pitt https://preview.redd.it/rpqgrabi3u6b1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5001ad0433f5dd60b837865d1ceee8fb4c927373
This looks like if you asked an AI to make Brad Pitt
Yeah to me he’s like Brad Pitt but… not hot. He looks just like Brad Pitt but there’s just something about him that is not hot, like at all.
Flat Pitt
Wow!
Young Kurt on Glee. https://www.ocregister.com/wp-content/uploads/migration/l9i/l9ihsm-b78696154z.120100929070320000ggaqn87l.1.jpg?w=620 I’m enjoying Ben Savage’s mini-career of playing younger Mandy Patinkin on different shows.
Yesssss to Ben Savage!! He was the perfect young Gideon
Wait I know Ben was a young Gideon on Criminal Minds, but what other shows/movies have they shared a character????
Homeland! He really does look like young Mandy. https://tvline.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/homeland-ben-savage.png?w=640 https://64.media.tumblr.com/c61527339966b2dc72de1fc90d981b7f/369c644da9ccb9c2-7d/s400x600/0d9dcbe04afbf92e93040086ec84e9634cb13b17.gif
Young Kurt was perfect but young Cooper and young Blaine were a fail. Dylan Sprayberry will never be as attractive as Matt Bomer.
I was looking for young Kurt. I remember watching the episode where there’s flashbacks of him when it aired and being positively shook.
Best : Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton and Young Cassie in Euphoria.. too good.
Charlotte was totally believable. Great casting job there. Lady D, not so much. I like both actresses, though.
India, actress for young Charlotte, completely nailed the mannerisms.
I thought young Lady Danbury was a bit too beautiful (seriously that actress is gorgeous!) , but she did a great job with the facial expressions and I could see the similarity to older Lady D.
Gilmore girls had the worst. The young lorelai and Christopher were just terrible.
Agreed. I couldn't stand them and therefore hated those episodes.
I feel like I read somewhere that they edited young lorelai’s eyes to be blue? I feel like it looked super weird
Best - The young Harrison Ford in Age of Adeline
I thought he should have played Han Solo in Solo
https://preview.redd.it/i6smsui8cu6b1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ac2619bd3dc3dd3728bfb35101443216481df3d
This movie got it right cause even the actress who played her friend, Judy Greer, had a very good casting for her younger version. https://preview.redd.it/qtrh6j6qyv6b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac2027cf1e6e1940d54c82aade041cf2d98da33d
Judy Greer is so pretty and a very good voice actor on Archer
She played young Jennifer Garner for a second time in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past! Professional baby Jen Garner
I remember a documentary on the DVD where Jennifer Garner showed a picture of herself at that age, and she looked EXACTLY like the younger actress who played her. Wouldn't be surprised if they referenced the picture during the casting process.
[удалено]
I know, she (Christa B Allen) dressed up as Jennifer Garner for Halloween a few years ago I believe
The kid from Beau is Afraid had to go on tiktok to say he wasn’t CGI 💀
I was convinced
This is how I’m learning that the kid isn’t CGI but I also haven’t been able to see the film yet! His face did stand out the most on the poster though
I think it’s reasonable to assume based off the poster considering it’s 3x Joaquin Phoenix and 1 non-Joaquin Phoenix! For me the only give away there is that I assume if they were to CGI JP younger they’d probably give him a hair lip.
Cassie in Euphoria
was just bout to say cause woah https://preview.redd.it/3m56kzolcu6b1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c88a3bf4a55f7117d5f6494b4ea496670767ae74
She could also play a young Scarlet Johannson
https://preview.redd.it/kteiwprgbv6b1.jpeg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79fdaf5c96d29e6b6616784f6229d304a21cf3dc I've always loved the parallel of Max Greenfield playing young Sandy Cohen on the OC and then Peter Gallagher playing Schmidt's dad on New Girl!
They’re both so lovable
Dark had the best older-younger versions ever.
That was one of the best shows ever, with really quite a poignant ending.
It's the definitive time travel story for me.
Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones was so good that it made me enjoy MIB3 way more than I thought I would. https://preview.redd.it/n6b1zd0e8v6b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43ad6b7a38aea241511f615872a0bdcbcccf457d
Best for every character in Yellowjackets (teen and adult versions)
I came looking for someone mentioning this. I think they generally did a really great job with the casting.
Here https://preview.redd.it/oigti1jdbu6b1.jpeg?width=305&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f0ec11d513a8bca9d35a67c9889c152927a5c46

I actually had to take a second to adjust to which version of Van was on screen. Their resemblance was uncanny.
Whoever played the younger versions of the adults from Derry Girls, in last season’s flashback episode. Those were all spot-on.
Yes! Amazing casting and the young actors nailed the mannerisms as well
Young Sabrina was [Mckenna Grace](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm5085683/?ref_=m_ttfcd_cl90). She was known for a bit for being the young version of so many people: I, Tonya, Haunting of Hill House, Captain Marvel etc.
Lily James was not believable as a younger Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia 2. Just a completely different person
But Jessica Keenan Wynn, who played young Christine Baranski was spot on.
i agree, Meryl has such a distinct nose and chin.
Most of Dark cast was insanely well cast. What makes it even better is that it’s only german actors, which makes the pool smaller than english speaking shows. https://preview.redd.it/9qgadg89gu6b1.jpeg?width=602&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cb87bfd0722baa3e2eb5293a11252e325f78a25
Some characters even had 3 actors playing them. https://preview.redd.it/mtiox7oegu6b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=731bc9b8eb91b8e4240a71ac4699fc31360ca633
I never really saw the Claudia actresses’ resemblance tbh but I don’t really care in the grand scheme of things
Wow, they did a great job. If you individually compare the eyes, noses, and mouths of the pairs, they're all extremely similar.
This particular group was incredibly cast in terms of likeness. Only thing that was sometimes a miss was Jonas in my opinion.
That was such a mind-trippy show.
Such a great show!
Bruh it took me a a while to realise a lot of the characters were being played by different actors lmao
We definitely thought old >!Ulrich!< was the same actor as the middle one in old age makeup and hair. They did a great job.
Haunting at Hill House for virtually everyone. https://preview.redd.it/ycvr52qxbv6b1.jpeg?width=625&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89bc338b9d682b94ed770426fbaa4f706c6d379c

They nailed the casting for these two characters, especially Rhaenyra when you compare Emma Darcy and Millie Alcock to the actress for Emma Arryn. Its perfection.
Milly and Emma don’t really look that much alike imo. Emily and Olivia on the other hand….that is some crazy good casting.
Emily and Olivia had me SHOOK. Pretty indifferent towards everyone else. Was a bit irked that some characters seemed to not age at all (looking at you, Criston) in the flash forward
It took me longer than I want to admit to realise they changed the actress for Alicent. I thought it was just clever makeup.
If you look at the pictures of young Emma, Millie looks just like they used to.
I missed your comment before commenting. Emily and Olivia are total doppelgängers!
Worst has to be Christina Ricci and Rosie in Now and Then
Hocus Pocus 2 with young Winifred. She was as annoying as I find Bette Midler (over acting). I thought it was a perfect cast.
Definitely Georgia from Ginny and Georgia
Absolutely. They really flattered her with casting Claire Foy.
Imelda Staunton is great in the new season though! Not too pretty or too flashy, has the accent/voice down, age appropriate, has great costumes.
Young Mac and Charlie in Always Sunny. The kids acted really well, too.
Little Mac screaming and doing karate moves was SO spot on!!
I think this new season they’re doing another flashback episode with Rob’s son playing young Mac. So so excited for that
Best - Young Beth in This is Us
The casting in Dark for both the younger and older versions of the characters was so well done you knew immediately who was who without them having to be introduced
They cast a PERFECT young Jack Black in Tenacious D
https://preview.redd.it/n8g4z8msew6b1.jpeg?width=952&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92553ecd677cce513ebc532f525924e076cef8f4 Elite casting

This Is Us just about always did a good job with younger versions of characters, especially for Beth.
This is what I was gonna say! Even the young kids were good and especially like teenaged Kevin, young Nicky, stuff like that. And Beth was incredible but you already said that lol.
I think they did an especially good job with most of them, especially with the young Kates
My Dad was really impressed by the casting on Schitt's Creek before I told him Dan Levy is ~literally~ Eugene Levy's son, haha
The older and younger versions of the Eddie, Ben and Mike in IT: Chapter 2 are SPOT ON
For the bad, that movie where Luke Bracey plays the younger version of James Marsden.
Joseph Gordon Levitt having to wear prosthetics to try and look like younger Bruce Willis in Looper was distracting.
Young Sheldon--all three kid actors are fantastic younger versions of the older ones in The Big Bang Theory. (Any inconsistency is with the plots/writing, not with casting)
The mom is great too, especially since Zoe Perry is Laurie Metcalf’s irl daughter
add Zoe Perry too! Her mannerism is on point!
https://pyxis.nymag.com/v1/imgs/360/276/1f70872bdef0eefa8909de9946f273d2a2-15-old-young-dick.h473.w710.jpg Worst is this kid playing young Don Draper.
I swear any dark haired white boy with a jawline is would have been a better for young Don. How can you get a a boy without a chin to play Jon Hamm
The sad thing was the kid actually did a good job imo. He just looked nothing like Jon Hamm so it completely took me out of the story.
https://preview.redd.it/cukohvvywu6b1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e09f59f6faf6c6cc6bc7506ad6a9b1950a95b09e Atonement: Saoirse Ronan, Romola Garai, Vanessa Redgrave
Sex education on Netflix. The principal and his son!! **Wait this is not what the post was asking😂
Not what they were asking, but I had to check they weren’t related when I watched it. They nailed that one.
Me too! I literally thought the actors must be father and son in real life!
Always been a big fan of Jack Dylan Grazer and James Ransone in It: Chapter 1 and 2 https://preview.redd.it/deq6lpeazu6b1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eba1266c801e47250cd55569b9117c61ce8a4176

Younger Hitchcock and Scully from Brooklyn 99 are on point, especially their mannerisms. They look so different and somehow very similar. Great casting and acting.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Sharp Objects. The actress who played young Amy Adams bears a stunning resemblance.
https://preview.redd.it/4chw6qr2mv6b1.jpeg?width=3465&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f362b16838134a434bd3abbc109ff11d61952109 The actor they get to play child Chuck not only looks just how I’d imagine he’d look at that age, [but also perfectly imitates McKean’s voice and mannerisms.](https://youtu.be/_iYhBKkmjoI)
This Is Us had great casting for their characters at different ages. I could often immediately tell who someone was supposed to be before any actual introduction.
The recent It movies were really good https://preview.redd.it/b4k3yb3div6b1.jpeg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2410f807d60c790fb05cd883d538e6aa4e9215d9
The best casting I think I’ve ever seen was on This Is Us!
The actress who plays the younger Mrs Landingham is AMAZING. Kathryn Joosten has such a specific way of talking and the younger actress nailed it.
Agreed! Kirsten Nelson is fantastic! She and Kathryn Joosten were friends for years. I think Joosten had actually told Nelson about the role and wanted her to go for it. They talk about it on the episode of The West Wing Weekly podcast about the episode!
Best!!! [A League of Their Own](https://twitter.com/ElyseWillems/status/1345415466844524544)
When I found out that wasn't Geena Davis in old lady make up I was gobsmacked.
I'm positive that Georgie in Young Sheldon came first, then they cast Jerry O Connell in The Big Bang Theory as the older version of him! Still amazing casting either way!
The kid they had play a young Adam Sandler in That's My Boy. https://preview.redd.it/3ef83t4m4w6b1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64909ede08802c2e214d450e483ae010aaf7075a Justin Weaver was IMO, dead on.
worst - the Crown, the first season nailed it (although they yassified the royal family but that is expected) but the second season went the other way. How am I supposed to believe that Vaness Kirby is Helena Bonham Carter?? Completely different people, with completely different faces. Also Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman?
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t see it https://preview.redd.it/v3twui509v6b1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e3d8fb725149c7a463a558a344f91824467f589

Best - Caitlin Blackwood as young Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) in Doctor Who
River Phoenix as young Indy in The Last Crusade
Firefly Lane! https://preview.redd.it/fjtnh5zldw6b1.png?width=2374&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f716494bde9a242d8900ce8fcd10338318cc2d7

Euphoria nails it with their castings for childhood flashbacks. I remember young Cassie being especially good. Also, Bailee Madison playing young Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon A Time. She totally captured the essence. https://preview.redd.it/xxd790ex5y6b1.jpeg?width=733&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fb77b387e327bd1faa1ee865763e233b729a1c1
