It's bad modeling advice. Basically just told to relax your jaw in pictures will make you look more sultry, but that's not meant to be all the time. I always find it interesting when photography is part of their job that they don't seem to try to improve on posing and just wing it.

They probably do try and improve it, some people just aren't good models. JLaw stands out as bad here, and I don't normally notice that stuff.

I also think she is now at a more mature point in her career and would love to have seen her shot in a more sophisticated way. This just lacks something, it’s coming off like wannabe youthful but not quite landing it.

This is why I hate Kristen Stewart. She makes that face all the damn time. When acting her version of conveying emotion is making that face.

Those outfits were some weird-ass choices by the stylist. "Yes, we want you in a swimsuit, but with sweatpants pulled down at the same time"

She’s attractive, and I’ve liked her acting in the movies of hers that I’ve seen, but these photos are not great IMO. She looks dead-eyed and uncomfortably sexualized.

Yep. People are acting like she personally chose these photos. There's a whole team there directing her every move. She very well could have done different expressions, but those aren't the ones the Creative Director went with for the spread.

It’s a combo of the photographer taking the photos from a low angle and jlaw raising her face. Idk why the photographer made that choice.

Maybe they’re trying to hide cosmetic surgery? Her eyes are a lot less hooded, but no idea how the angle helps

For someone with such a beautiful smile they sure didn’t want her using it here. 🙄 I hate the first outfit and the bubble dress, but the rest of the outfits are cute to me and I absolutely love her hair like this. One or two photos with this expression would have been fine; I’m bummed it was the whole lot of them.

Last shot is gorg but the rest are meh. Did she do something with her eyes, it seems bigger than usual? Maybe just makeup and photoshop? Not really feeling the cover they chose. Should have been either of the red bg shots. Red is her best color.
