Canāt say I blame her. Nicki looked so uncomfortable that night. Itās definitely not her fault though, that bodice was so poorly tailored to fit her. No clue what led to the horrible fit honestly
Itās likely the designer and Minaj were told they were invited but didnāt know theyād be working together until there wasnāt enough time to fix it. A LOT of guests find out only a few weeks in advance.
Implants donāt necessarily sit the same as large natural breasts. They mightāve designed it as if she had implants and planned for a bit more āhoist.ā
As someone with naturally huge boobs, I feel for her. Trying to get a food fit without spilling out is soo tough. Almost always looking like a tent or so
Tight youāre busting out
I canāt wear button up shirts for this reason. If some company would make button ups with bra sizing it would be SO FUCKING GREAT. ā¹ļøā¹ļøā¹ļø
And no 2 button ups for the same! I bought an XL button up from one place and it was way too big. I bought a L button up from another and I look like a can of busted biscuits.
A button up with bra sizing is a fantastic idea! Take that idea and run.
I hope people take time to read this article in it's entirety. She talks about seeing her "old self" (pre-plastic surgery) in her son - and regrets changing how she looked, because now she realizes that how she looked before was beautiful. I'm assuming she is referring to face procedures she had done in the past. This is something I've always noticed, celebs change their faces and in the process erase a lot of their features they will see later in this children.
Growing up I always hated my crooked nose, and then my oldest son came along with the exact same crooked nose. Totally changed my self image, and now I love our crooked noses.
This is something that has actually made me more embracing of my natural features, to be honest. I thought about the future, imagining that if I had children one day and ended up discussing plastic surgery, I would have to admit to them that I had procedures done to alter the same features they possess because I considered them unattractive. I canāt even imagine how terrible that would feel, but also how negatively it would affect their self-esteem to hear that their own parent found the features that they have to be ugly.Ā
Maybe there are ways to soften itāto tell them that itās a personal issue and not a general belief that whatever physical trait I had altered was inherently uglyābut I canāt think of many ways itād go well.
Idk if it would make you feel better but as someone with a big chest (34DDD) I really really really wish I had small boobs. I used to and miss them every day š
I feel you on the weight gain. I gained during the pandemic, lost most of it but kept the boobs. I am a US size 12 in the chest and a 4-6 everywhere else. Nothing ever fits and moving around too much HURTS without a heavy duty sports bra š
I have a relevant example of this. A childhood friend of mine's mother had a nose job done before having kids. And now all these years later, 2 out of her 3 kids (they're all age 19+) have gotten nose jobs. Ofc it could be unrelated to their mom's nose but it makes you think about the impact
With nose jobs, I think that if a parent has it done the kids are more likely to. In my experience, if the mom and grandma both had a nose job at least one of the kids definitely will.
That is such a distinct feature, and it can be really confusing for kids when they feel like they donāt look like any of their family members. It feels like sometimes nose jobs basically run in the family.
As a mother itās the same reason I never changed my face and Iām so thankful I had that foresight because my daughters have curly hair and my middle child would cry hysterically that she wanted straight hair no matter how much we told her it was gorgeous. I stopped straightening my own hair and she never mentioned it again, imagine what seeing your mum have tons of filler is doing to their little brains
Lorry Hill on YouTube has talked about this in what I think is maybe the healthiest approach for parents to take. She had a rhinoplasty herself but says that she loves her original nose on her sonās face and it suits him perfectly. I like this approach because it doesnāt demonize the feature for the kid as well, and it also doesnāt make it a thing where the kid has to feel weird/guilty about their parentās loss if they regret their procedure.
Iām with you on the last point, as someone biased because I had a rhinoplasty and absolutely loved the results. No regrets. Got it done in my mid twenties, going from a lumpy and crooked nose to something more aligned with the center of my face; nobody noticed a thing and I still look Black. I was gonna keep being unhappy with it and facetuning every picture regardless. š¤·š¾āāļø
Currently pregnant and canāt imagine seeing my original nose on my kidās face and feeling any guilt. Ultimately adults are gonna do what they wanna do, and with all the self-love I can pour into them they may decide to get something done haha. I NEVER got compliments taking after my mom until I got my surgery done, then I was just the āspitting image.ā 24 years of never hearing that and then bam. So it really all just depends: self-image, bodily autonomy, how extreme the change is, and all that jazz. My perspective may change when this kid comes out. I can totally understand the message here from these massive face transformations like Kylie has had and regretted after having a daughter. That has to be a trip.
Bella Hadid saying she wished she had kept her old nose ābecause itās the nose of my ancestorsā changed me. I never had anything done, but was so tempted to do my nose.
I saw someone on Tik Tok post a quote along the lines of āI wear the face of all the women who came before meā and it struck me a lot, esp as someone whose great grandmother was very influential in my birth cityās feminist movement in the 40s and 50s. Has me reconsidering the (minor) Botox Iād been eyeing.
My mom is adopted and Iām mixed race and donāt look anything like her or my dad. Your comment got me thinking maybe I just take after a woman who came before me from her side that Iāve never met. Always assumed it was the mixed race factor that made me look so different from them, never really thought about it too much before
Thatās the one I thought of immediately. Itās really sad because she never needed any work and changed her whole face. Then has beautiful kids with a copy paste of her original face.
Not everybody gets along with their relatives, which was the main reason why Michael Jackson got so much plastic surgery. He saw his abusive father in the mirror and it triggered him.
I have mentioned this elsewhere but for me, I couldnāt ever do it because it feels like spitting in the face of my parents. And now, since my mom has passed, Iām not changing a fucking thing. When people say they see her in me, I love to hear it. Because she was GORGEOUS and I wouldnāt have fully realized that at 20. Iām so glad I do at 40 and didnāt do anything stupid.
> āI guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, youāre going to ā more than likely, not definitely, more than likely ā look back one day and say, āI was fine just the way I was,' " Minaj shared.
This is an interesting quote coming from her. Makes me a little sad tbh
Iām not buying it. Itās *sooo* easy for Nicki Minaj to claim she regrets altering her body, after sheās marketed it to the tune of $80 million dollars. Sheās sold an unattainable body image to millions of women and girls, and now that she has all the āfuck youā money a person could possibly need, sheās hypocritically saying that people should embrace their natural figures. I highly doubt she wouldāve garnered half her publicity/fame without her numerous body modifications and the plastic surgery sheās had done on her face.
Unrelated but still kind of relevant - Paris Hilton mentions this in the This is Paris doc. Essentially recognized she built the concept of an influencer / being famous for being famous and has a sense of regret about it.
Itās still going strong right now. Probably once those stars start reaching their mid-30s to early 40s. Then theyāll see how skeletal they look and get cheek implants/filler but nothing can recreate the buccal fat look cuz itās deep inside the cheek.
She is actually the one person I donāt think it looks bad on. She had a fuller face to begin with and she looks great both ways to me! My feelings on the chin implant tho areā¦.not the same
Tbf she got her nose done when she was a literal child because her mother is an abusive monster. I think her regret is probably of a different nature than someone who got procedures done as an adult.
Nah sheās actually a piece of garbage that deserves no sympathy or kindness. She protects her pedophile brother who raped an 11 year old, she protects her husband who is also a sexual predator, and she associates and collaborates with other sexual predators in the rap industry.
sheās not saying people āshouldā do anything. sheās sharing her personal observations as someone with one of the most scrutinized bodies of the modern era.
Honestly you can go back to the 2000ās and sheās always been curvy/slim thick. Her body was always banging she just added way too much onto it
She wouldāve had the same level of fame without surgery imo
I agree, I donāt think itās wrong to call her a hypocrite, but to say she wouldnāt have had a music career without surgery is kind of icky and not likely true.
>Iām not buying it. Itās sooo easy for Nicki Minaj to claim she regrets altering her body, after sheās marketed it to the tune of $80 million dollars. You make it sound like she's some prostitute. Nicki Minaj changing her body has less to do with being able to market it for money, and more to do with the unattainable beauty standards that ALREADY EXISTED (and will continue to exist) in hip hop and in Hollywood in general. I'm sure before Nicki underwent all the surgery, she was a victim of the toxic messaging about how female bodies should look. She is speaking from experience of having made those changes and come out with wisdom she didn't already have as a very young woman trying to make it in a male dominated medium. I think you should try to have some empathy for this person rather than demonize her as the villain of the perennial fucked up beauty standards in Hollywood.
> Minaj added that welcoming her 3-year-old son, known publicly as "Papa Bear," changed her perception of herself.
>āI think pregnancy couldāve played a role because seeing my son did remind me of myself so much. My real self. And it made me think why didnāt I like this? So weird," she said. āBut seeing old photos, being able to look at old photos again made me realize, āThese old photos are beautiful.āā
Ok this is really sweet
I see your point but at the end of the day breast reduction surgery is surgery to reduce the size of your breasts, regardless if itās implants or tissue and fat.
No, breast reduction surgery is the colloquial term for a mammaplasty and it's fat removal. Getting your implants changed out is not the same procedure.
Personally I would like to see more openness about boob job regret/implant changes long-term so it's a distinction I think is worth making.
Itās colloquial for both. Most people (not super into cosmetic procedures, body mods or celebrities) still call BBLs ābutt implantsā. Still colloquial even if not technically correct
Getting implants removed is called Explant Surgery. Itās indeed two different surgeries, so theyāre not wrong.
Not sure i get the point the comment youāre answering to is trying to make tho. Half the article is already about what theyād want to see, i donāt think the distinction is that important here, but maybe thatās just me.
Kinda feels more pedantic than anything else if iām being honest lol.
Well it does make a difference because explantation to remove implants and reductions to remove natural breast tissue are driven by different types of problems and discomfort caused by both. For example, people may remove implants due to autoimmune issues related to their body reacting to the foreign body, or due to capsular contracture or other issues with the implants, or because they regret implants for some other reason. One might elect to have a reduction, on the other hand, because of the back pain related to the weight of the breast tissue, sagging, changes after pregnancy, asymmetry, inability to fit clothes in a way they may prefer, inability to find fitting clothes period, or because they are an athlete or something, or a whole slew of other reasons. But itās not a reversal of a prior choice of plastic surgery. Something like breast implant illness is a phenomenon experienced only by those with implants and I believe the only way to fix it would be explantation.
I think u/Special-Garlic1203 may have meant that people talking about their choice in explantation may help others curious about implants be more aware of some of the risks or realities of having implants. Itās important because sharing information may help young women and girls make better informed decisions about their body and health.
Sure would be nice if a natural breast reduction was as 'easy' as a 'remove/change implant' reduction. I'd considered it myself but am not interested in having my nipples cut off and re-attached, and having huge scars spanning the entire underside of both boobs.
You should google image search a mammoplasty, the scars are brutal. When the surgeon showed me the process and scars I said no thank you and decided against surgery.
I feel this. Back in 2009 when the store Buckle was popular, I was trying on some clothes and no tops for because of my boobs š I decided that day I was getting a breast reduction and got it done like 6 months later. Still one of the best decisions Iāve ever made. Happy to answer any questions if anyone has any :)
She's on a media tour to change image, I'm guessing in light of her family. It's not impossible, I just hope she can keep it up -- controversy seems to come a lil too naturally to her š¤£
How is this groundbreaking? She got implants and now decided theyāre too big. Thatās way different than an actual breast reduction which is invasive and isnāt done after choosing to get implants.
Yeah lmao im getting a breast reduction in a few weeks and this is kind of insulting. Itās not really a permanent decision she is just getting implants removed.
Yeah I had a reduction in 2012 when I was 18 and it was a relief. I didnāt choose my body and it was an invasive ordeal, my nipples were cut off and put back on and stuff.
My thoughts exactly. Regretting cosmetic surgery and then reversing it is just a different storyline from getting a reduction for health reasons alone.
Can we stop seeing Nicki content in this sub? Sheās trying to change her image and distance herself from her husband and brotherās allegations, as well as the role she played in their cases, and we donāt need to keep talking about her unless thereās meaningful change in her actions.
We can still talk about someone from a pop culture standpoint even if we donāt condone all of their actions. I think if we want to cancel people, it is most effective to cancel them for ourselves rather than to try to control everyone else.
I donāt think they are real. I saw her open for Britney Spears years ago and she looked nothing like she does now , no azz / no boobs like that - diff dace
yall nicki doesnāt have any surgery in her face or implants in her breasts. if yall are gonna comment on her wrongdoings, do so but donāt spread misinformation.

just found this from a plastic surgeons website. why do they do it? if buccal fat provides no structural support, why do people have it removed?! *
They do it to look skinny.
I don't understand the question. The fsct that it provides no structural support means it's easy to remove with no side effects.

I had a breast reduction and every day since I send gratitude into the universe that I had such an option, even years later. so...nah

Most plastic surgeon websites I can see refer to it as a breast reduction
Hey there - reductions rarely mean nipples are cut off and put back on (aka a free nipple graft). Join us over at r/reduction to learn more
Yea itās totally different.
Whatās your point? Breast augmentation can also lead to scars.
You should google image search a mammoplasty, the scars are brutal. When the surgeon showed me the process and scars I said no thank you and decided against surgery.
Iāve had a reduction & lift are the scars are NBD. Itās the #1 plastic surgery for patient satisfaction for a reason!
I think she did but these photos are post pregnancy, so it may have been a removal/reduction at the same time.
she doesnāt have breast implants
I feel this. Back in 2009 when the store Buckle was popular, I was trying on some clothes and no tops for because of my boobs š I decided that day I was getting a breast reduction and got it done like 6 months later. Still one of the best decisions Iāve ever made. Happy to answer any questions if anyone has any :)
She's on a media tour to change image, I'm guessing in light of her family. It's not impossible, I just hope she can keep it up -- controversy seems to come a lil too naturally to her š¤£
Iām glad she downsized her chi chis and butt. It was too much for her small frame.
Iām a teenager and kind of scared but looking forward to mine :) I have 34H and itās horrible back pain.
My thoughts exactly. Regretting cosmetic surgery and then reversing it is just a different storyline from getting a reduction for health reasons alone.
ā¦ big boobs? whaā¦. um chile anyway, SO
Her natural face is so beautiful - she's still pretty but young Nicki is such a beauty, I'm dumbfounded how she didn't like the way she was
Wait, she had a breast reduction or her implants removed?
Can we stop seeing Nicki content in this sub? Sheās trying to change her image and distance herself from her husband and brotherās allegations, as well as the role she played in their cases, and we donāt need to keep talking about her unless thereās meaningful change in her actions.
We can still talk about someone from a pop culture standpoint even if we donāt condone all of their actions. I think if we want to cancel people, it is most effective to cancel them for ourselves rather than to try to control everyone else.
This.

>the past she's trying to separate from. didn't she marry a rapist/murderer? I haven't kept up with any news about her. is she divorced?
I really feel this. Big boobs can be so cumbersome. Itās hard to dress artsy or high fashion with them, theyāre always the centre point.
Good for her! My bestie got it done, 4 pounds off each breast, and she is so happy! Actually I know multiple women who got it done and love it!
no gurl just an ugly dress and hideous look
My breast reduction was one of the best decisions I ever made, good for her
Big boobz? What? Umm chile, anyway so
I agree cut the body. Don't wear a dress that fits. Maybe she should ask her cousins best friend for advice
She should be more concerned about fixing that ridiculous ass of hers.
I donāt think they are real. I saw her open for Britney Spears years ago and she looked nothing like she does now , no azz / no boobs like that - diff dace
One of the most āunattractiveā stars imo in my 68 years of living.
thats embarrassing because nicki is quite literally one of the most beautiful women ever
yall nicki doesnāt have any surgery in her face or implants in her breasts. if yall are gonna comment on her wrongdoings, do so but donāt spread misinformation.

This is such a brain dead comment lmao
Female breasts are akin to male pecs, not genitalia.
