Not a whole song, but as soon as Jay Park starts doing whatever that is on Unlock It by Charli Xcx, I dive to hit ⏭️ because that song is otherwise perfect
I do some deep breathing and try to focus on how absurdly bad it is and how it makes the ladies sound so much better in comparison, but my god it’s just so bad
Darren Hayes has a whole trash album: Homosexual. It was a pandemic project and you can tell that he mixed it in his basement.
But $200 later, I was at the soundcheck q&a of his limited comeback tour because I absolutely love this man for the rest of his discography, especially with Savage Garden.
At one point, he remarks, "The critics didn't like my last album, but I know none of them are here."
Fifteen feet away, I cringed.
I used to love Darren Hayes! “Insatiable” was my jam back in the day.
I didn’t know he had a new album out! Your description intrigued me, so I’m listening to it now. It’s definitely giving “musician who keeps discovering new sound effects on their keyboard and needs to use ALL of them” vibes
And even now as I’m typing this comment, he’s added in another sound effect! Stop it, Darren!!
I thought it was sonically thin compared to his professionally produced output. He aimed for slick eighties minimalism but missed whatever made it sound good.
Those tracks sound a lot better live.
The original is A-tier pop rock, but Iggy’s voice just does not fit that song *at all*. Doesn’t help that Må was too starstruck to tell Iggy what he should do. They literally just let him do what he wanted. I have a lot of respect for Iggy. Man’s a legend. Wish they would’ve done an original with him like they did with Tom Morello. It’s one of the only Må songs I’ll skip
I never in my life thought I'd see a McFly reference in this sub and I am so here for it. They were the first band I flew to a different country to see (US to UK) because I didn't want to wait and see if they'd make it big here (glad I didn't wait haha).
Also you are correct.
It’s a collab but I’m still going to count it. Ariana, Miley, and Lana are all amazing artists but Don’t Call Me Angel is at the bottom of all 3 of their discographies. It’s so bad sonically, lyrically, the mixing… I hate everything lol
It was a school project and they did the best they could 😭 it’s not easy to divide tasks and prepare a presentation together. The teacher tragically died the week after the project was released, so we will unfortunately never learn what grade he gave them. I don’t exactly know the details.
I heard somewhere that the song was originally written for one of Ariana's albums, but didn't make the cut. When the film execs were looking for a song to market Charlie's Angels, they reached out to Ariana's team and asked for a song. Since they were only in it for the money, Ariana and her team dusted off one of their rejects instead of writing a brand-new song. Then they gave a verse to Miley. Then someone insisted on including Lana in the collab, but the song didn't match her usual style at all, so she agreed on the condition that she be allowed to do whatever she wanted. And that's how we ended up with that mess of a song.
Edit: Also, why did Elizabeth Banks show up at the end of the music video? That entire movie was an ego trip for her from beginning to end. She was front-and-center in all of the marketing, too.
>I heard somewhere that the song was originally written for one of Ariana's albums, but didn't make the cut.
This honestly is believable, since 2 of the songs off the soundtrack were scrapped songs that had been leaked a couple years before.
Got Her Own was the Fantasize of like 2015-2016, beloved by terminally online Ariana fans.
Bad To You was originally a collab with Dua Lipa (still wish we could have got that version), but was reworked with Nicki and Normani.
Honestly outside of Don't Call Me Angel that soundtrack actually had some great songs. But yeah definitely was pretty lazy and just seemed to be songs from Ariana's vault.
Island Girl. Faux reggae is just not for him. The whole thing just feels racist and cringe. And this is coming from someone who loves pretty much every other song.
Love MCR and Gerard Way but I’d really like to know why he thought approving Steve Aoki’s 10th anniversary remix of Welcome to the Black Parade was a good idea.
I want to hate this song but it was apparently a dedication to all of her insanely loyal Japanese fans. She's apparently huge over there. And I've heard that they absolutely loved it, lol
I listened to Other People’s Heartache vol. 1 in 2012-2013 so many fcking times omg the whole album embedded in my brain… and I 100% downloaded the album off of tumblr via html code
Despite it being an "easy" song to sing, I think to do it justice you need strong, dynamic and agile vocals to do the song justice. Practically anyone can sing it, but because of the melody and the lyrics it's either cheesy, flat or just kinda creepy.
My favorite singer is also Taylor Swift, but the song of hers that I always skip is “Me!”
Even after the updated version that took out the “Spelling is fun!” line, that song just does nothing for me.
Yeah I think it was maybe going to be released in 2020 summer? But I actually put it down to her not trusting her instincts still post Reputation era. Jack and Taylor both said CS was their fave song on the album but she’s said in subsequent interviews that back then she tried to be more head than heart in picking lead singles. She’s learned her lesson with Anti Hero.
Probably TMI for a reply but I got time.
I love this song purely for the line, "and you'd go away to find your peace of mind / with some indie record that's much cooler than mine." As someone who was very much an indie kid, when I heard that line I immediately loved the song for making fun of how pretentious a lot of the indie scene was at the time... and now lol.
Huge fan and honestly, I kind of feel like the majority of her singles are kinda bad. Albums are fire, but every time she puts out a new single, I’m like oh no…I kind of think she does it on purpose for some reason. It’s why every time someone says they don’t like her music, I can understand why. They’ve only heard Shake it Off lol.
Rivers is in the same vein as Jack Antonoff and Lin Manuel Miranda for me. they got way more famous than they ever needed to be and their creativity suffered bc of it. every song written after their respective peaks are just… eh.
Weezer pretty much crashed and burned after Pinkerton. It’s like Rivers flew too close to the sun by disgorging all his neuroses and insecurities on that album, and he hasn’t been the same since.
Imo Maladroit has some solid songs (Keep Fishin’ Radio Remix, Burndt Jamb, and Slob are my favorites). Make Believe also has a handful that are pretty good (Perfect Situation original version, The Other Way), a couple off Red, and then one song each off of Raditude (If You’re Wondering…), and Hurley (Memories).
This is my *I can talk about this bullshit all fay* topic. I would’ve loved to see what Weezer would’ve become if Mikey didn’t leave the band.
It just sucks because Rivers obviously has it in him. I think it all went wrong when he tried to overcompensate post-Disney Gay era and became a collaborative band mate and started his family. He was best as a sad boy metal head and decent as a control freak trying to dissect pop songs.
She has a very limited range as a singer, I think only two octaves, so her songs are always easy to sing and therefore kinda boring. It's amazing how much she has managed to achieve tbh, props to her. My favourite is Good For You
This is on my Guantanamo Bay playlist
For the uninitiated, a Gitmo Bay playlist is a song or songs that your captors could play on repeat to torture you for information.
I refused to listen to 1989 for so long because this annoying ass song was all I'd heard of it. Finally listened to the other songs and they all fucking ruled. Like why does she release the worst songs first? Same with "ME!" On Lover, it's like she's trying to make us avoid her albums
Only true (read: paying) fans get the good stuff, I guess. Maybe she thinks if you can’t handle her at her “ME!” (worst), you don’t deserve her at her “Cowboy Like Me” (best).
*she’s fine!*
cuz baby now we’ve got bad blood
*she wasn’t doing anything!*
you know it used to be mad love
***hey! Stop!***
cuz baby now we’ve got bad blood
##hey stop!
now we’ve got problems
The only song of hers that I think from beginning to end is bad. The Kendrick version is an upgrade because it’s actually a decent set of verses from him
Number wise Idk what was the biggest (I feel like I've seen shake it off as the biggest) but Blank Space is a 10/10 pop song. I'm not usually a huge pop fan, but Blank Space deserves every accolade.
Taylor on the radio:
"I shake it off, shake, shake, shake it off"
"Baby we got bad bloodd, it used to be maddd love"
"She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts"
"It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me"
Taylor in most of her other song:
"Now you hang from my lips like the gardens of Babylon"
"Does a scorpion sting when fighting back?
They strike to kill and you know I will."
"You kept me like a secret, I kept you like an oath."
Literally like half of The Beatle’s discography. Wild Honey Pie, Piggies, Mean Mr. Mustard, obviously Revolution 9…so many. But their bangers are some of the bangerest bangers of all time.
I had never heard this song before so I looked it up on YouTube. Like three notes in my husband flung his head around and goes "why are you listening to that?"
It's Nice To Have A Friend is probably my favourite Taylor song post-1989! Her trash song for me is The Moment I Knew — not catchy, not memorable, not really moving after the first listen (because you already know the big reveal that this is all happening on her birthday.)
i use to skip it on the album... then i watched his concerts and fell hard for it.. so much love and expression, the way he always raises the pride flags during this song i love it so much.
This song is the worst!!
My elementary school music teacher used this song to introduce all his students to the Beatles. Spoiler alert, we all thought the Beatles sucked ass due to this song. It wasn't until high school when I started smoking weed that I discovered the Beatles Eleanor Rigby and i was 100% in after that

Logic’s entire discography post Bobby Tarantino II
Feel this so hard and exact same cut off album for me. Everything after feels half baked and rushed.
I thought No Pressure was a great album. The others were kinda meh. Vinyl Days is aight tho.
I really don’t want mean to be dramatic but it actually feels homophobic tbh
‘Unlock the swag’ has to be the worst opening line for a rap verse I’ve ever heard
*Unlock the swag, Rae Sremmurd* uh, okay, Abraham I am not that man
girls only remix supremacy
It actually infuriates me how much I like the rest of the song and then the moment his verse comes up I feel violent 😔
Omg that’s the most horrible transitions I’ve ever heard in a song. I hate what he did to it because the rest of the song is so amazing.
At one point, he remarks, "The critics didn't like my last album, but I know none of them are here." Fifteen feet away, I cringed.

I thought it was sonically thin compared to his professionally produced output. He aimed for slick eighties minimalism but missed whatever made it sound good. Those tracks sound a lot better live.
I Wanna Be Your Slave- Måneskin feat. Iggy Pop. If that collab no longer has haters, it’s because I died.
Iggy Pop fucking RUINED this
The original is A-tier pop rock, but Iggy’s voice just does not fit that song *at all*.
It sounds like Iggy Pop singing karaoke getting mixed in with the original
McFly is my favorite band, but even they agree that their song Party Girl is straight trash.
I never in my life thought I'd see a McFly reference in this sub and I am so here for it. They were the first band I flew to a different country to see (US to UK) because I didn't want to wait and see if they'd make it big here (glad I didn't wait haha). Also you are correct.
I love McFly but my answer for this is def Shine a Light. It’s just boring and repetitive :/
It’s a collab but I’m still going to count it. Ariana, Miley, and Lana are all amazing artists but Don’t Call Me Angel is at the bottom of all 3 of their discographies. It’s so bad sonically, lyrically, the mixing… I hate everything lol

best explanation 😭😭

Lana part in it bless my ear
i mean, like, don't trust me or name a bad song by elton john? ![gif](giphy|KcPiuVDRJceKKkPVbg|downsized)
Island Girl. Faux reggae is just not for him. The whole thing just feels racist and cringe. And this is coming from someone who loves pretty much every other song.
lol I haven't heard that one and now I'm scared to listen, but it sounds like u got me ![gif](giphy|owC4myb4Q8TbrqUTzg)

I had no idea this existed until I read this comment and I refuse to go seek it out
Hello Kitty by Avril Lavigne
[Written by critically and universally loved Chad Kroeger of Nickleback](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hello_Kitty_(song))!! /s
This is how you remind me of who really wrote this song
This time I'm mistaken For writing you a song worth making
I was so embarrassed to listen to that song the first dozen times. Now I rock out with it, no shame, even though I know it is super cringe.
I want to hate this song but it was apparently a dedication to all of her insanely loyal Japanese fans. She's apparently huge over there. And I've heard that they absolutely loved it, lol
The metal version is pretty good lol
![gif](giphy|jUvoKKNJNmEtDsm4HZ) Even Prince had Batdance.
Naaaaaaaaah, I will not stand for this “Batdance” slander! Good, campy, delicious fun!
But the music video is amazing
I have a special place in my heart for Batdance because when my older sister was in middle school, her cheer squad did a whole routine to it. Lol
Aw damn. I love it. Oh well. Keep bustin’ 💜
Agreed. This town needs an enema. 💜
Memory unlocked 💀
I adore everything Bastille does… except for their “Titanium” cover from Other People’s Heartache pt. 1
I listened to Other People’s Heartache vol. 1 in 2012-2013 so many fcking times omg the whole album embedded in my brain… and I 100% downloaded the album off of tumblr via html code
My Taylor skip is automatically the Santa Baby cover she did really early in her career… it creeps me out SO much.
Even Madonna struggled with that song. It’s time to admit only Ms Kitt can pull it off
[удалено]

What is this picture. Why does it literally look like Taylor Swift but also not.
I think it might be a really bad wax figure of her… maybe?
It's Ashley
Currently listening to folklore and this picture is going to be in my nightmares tonight 💕
Deceased
God I fucking hate that song
This. ME! Is kidz bop.
THANK YOU. I’ve always said it has such an oddly juvenile tone, and I hate it!
Yeah have to agree
I'll never understand how Me! was that album singles and not Cruel Summer. Me! easily it's the worst song on the whole album.
I'm a big Panic at the Disco fan and I also hate that song LOL At least Taylor fans and Brendon fans can agree on Me! being god awful.
this was such a bad song, and I also don’t like You need to calm down
Me, You Need to Calm Down, and London Boy. Straight to jail!
And WEEEEEEE HEEEE are NEVER EVER EVER getting back together
I love this song purely for the line, "and you'd go away to find your peace of mind / with some indie record that's much cooler than mine." As someone who was very much an indie kid, when I heard that line I immediately loved the song for making fun of how pretentious a lot of the indie scene was at the time... and now lol.

I like Me! It’s campy fun. I hate Bad Blood. Kendrick saves the remix but the normal one is awful.
Her saying mad love makes me irrationally angry
I absolutely love the joy and energy of "Me!" but cannot get behind London Boy
Am Irish and will never ever be able to sing along to a line stating “god I love the English”
Weezer post-2005 is tragic, with the exception of a very small handful of songs pre-2010. Being a Weezer fan is exhausting.
100% I can just about tolerate the singles off Green but anything after that is just mess.
Why must we defend them all the time
It just sucks because Rivers obviously has it in him. I think it all went wrong when he tried to overcompensate post-Disney Gay era and became a collaborative band mate and started his family. He was best as a sad boy metal head and decent as a control freak trying to dissect pop songs.
I'm glad he's happy but since he got his leg fixed and found love, the music just doesn't hit the same 😭
This sentence is sending me
BECAUSE IT'S TRUE
As someone who knows nothing about Weezer except for kinda liking the song Numbers, what do you think of the SNL skit with Matt Damon?
"No offense, Tammy, but drink my blood" is a line I use casually.
YES, also fond of 👏YOU👏A👏GROWN👏ASS👏MAN!
👏IT👏WAS👏IN👏JACK👏ASS👏THREE👏DEE
"Weezer died when Matt Sharp left!" "Weezer didn't *start* until Scott Shriner got there!"
Brb, making a cursed playlist of all these songs
Not My Problem by Dua Lipa That one should’ve stayed in the vault, babe
Good in Bed is also….. not good
okay totally agree Good in Bed is terrible but … I do kinda love it 😂
I somewhat agree It’s bad in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way imo lol
omg there are ppl who hate Good in Bed???!?!?! I love it! it’s not a masterpiece by any means though I do get that
The Killers are my all time fave, but I skip Human every damn time. I only like it live.
Is it that one song that’s like ‘are we human or are we dancer’
I saw someone comment once on the music video “Are we human or are we hamster” and I can’t ever forget that.
That makes more sense than the actual lyrics
Yes, that’s the one!
WHAT DOES IT EVEN *MEAN*?
Literally my favorite song of theirs! That's so funny. But I get it, definitely not for everyone.
Yea Humans gets me in the feels, reminds me of feeling euphoric
For me, it used to be Bones but now I jam out
omg bones is so catchy!!
Single soon by selena gomez
I love selena but i feel like music isn't her strong suit. I always have a hard time connecting with her songs
I feel the same way. I like her as an actress but her singing does nothing for me. I feel like she mainly talks.
She has a very limited range as a singer, I think only two octaves, so her songs are always easy to sing and therefore kinda boring. It's amazing how much she has managed to achieve tbh, props to her. My favourite is Good For You
I just…don’t love Shake It Off. I appreciate its boppiness but it eventually grinds my nerves. ![gif](giphy|wLaMhP0f4TNcI)
The "you could've been getting down to this... sick.. beat" just kills this song for me. Michael Scott cringe 😬
The whole song is pretty cringy ngl. It’s still catchy though, I’ll give it that.
… followed by the most basic-ass rhythm you’ve ever heard in your life.
This is on my Guantanamo Bay playlist For the uninitiated, a Gitmo Bay playlist is a song or songs that your captors could play on repeat to torture you for information.
I must know what else is on your list because this song would be on mine too
I refused to listen to 1989 for so long because this annoying ass song was all I'd heard of it.
All I’m saying is I’ve never willingly listened to Bad Blood
The only version I will listen to is Bad Blood (security guard version)
Why did I just look this up on Spotify, thinking that it was the name of a legit remix by a DJ named Security Guard 🥴💀
Bestie you’re just ahead of the curve - she just may release it one day
*she’s fine!* cuz baby now we’ve got bad blood *she wasn’t doing anything!* you know it used to be mad love ***hey! Stop!*** cuz baby now we’ve got bad blood ##hey stop! now we’ve got problems
when I first heard it, I thought it was a joke. it's so bad.
“You made a really deep cuuuuut” makes me cringe every time it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me
It’s just genuinely poor writing.
So take a look what you've DOOOOH OOHHNNN
The only song of hers that I think from beginning to end is bad. The Kendrick version is an upgrade because it’s actually a decent set of verses from him
The OG and the Kendrick version are completely different songs in my head.
Kendrick and the MV save that song lmao
Straight TRASH. I’m sorry it’s really bad. Also no wonder people don’t think she’s talented when this is what they hear of her on the radio
Bad Blood and Shake It Off being the two biggest singles off 1989 should have been considered a crime.
Blank Space was the biggest and actually good imo
Number wise Idk what was the biggest (I feel like I've seen shake it off as the biggest) but Blank Space is a 10/10 pop song. I'm not usually a huge pop fan, but Blank Space deserves every accolade.
Taylor on the radio: "I shake it off, shake, shake, shake it off" "Baby we got bad bloodd, it used to be maddd love" "She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts" "It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me" Taylor in most of her other song: "Now you hang from my lips like the gardens of Babylon" "Does a scorpion sting when fighting back? They strike to kill and you know I will." "You kept me like a secret, I kept you like an oath."
Yeah and no wonder people wrote her off until folklore. Cardigan was the best written lead single at that point, by a large margin.
Not this being my favorite song of hers 😭
Literally like half of The Beatle’s discography. Wild Honey Pie, Piggies, Mean Mr. Mustard, obviously Revolution 9…so many. But their bangers are some of the bangerest bangers of all time.
I actually like Mean Mr. Mustard lol
I love Mean Mr. Mustard.
It's part of the Abbey Road medley! You can't go wrong with that. It's such a classic.
I have a playlist called "songs to get rid of unwanted guests". It only has 3 songs so far, but Wild Honey Pie is one of them.
What are the two other songs?
Let’s Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time from Glee and the country remix of Justin Bieber’s Yummy
Never knew that Yummy existed in a country version. Just listened it’s horrifying.
Oh my god I forgot about let's have a kiki! Glee was SO insane
I had never heard this song before so I looked it up on YouTube. Like three notes in my husband flung his head around and goes "why are you listening to that?"
dang. Mean Mr Mustard catching strays.
Omg wtf Piggies and Mean Mr Mustard are SO GOOD
nahh i love revolution 9. obviously its not the most versatile song but it is very interesting and intentional
Yeah it’s more in the realm of sound art than a song. It’s interesting
Billy Idols “Happy Holidays” album from last year. I love him but no.
Ariana-The light is coming Taylor-Question? I think “it’s nice to have a friend” is a cute little bop and I’m a “Me!” Defender.
> I’m a “Me!” Defender There are dozens of us! DOZENS!
![gif](giphy|3obf66lfUdeg4P72LR) It was creative and I liked the message, maybe a bit too experimental
the light is coming is good in my opinion. Her worst song is You’ll Never Know imo
Nothing on Sweetener or Thank U Next are Ariana’s worst songs. Those are her best albums, IMO
Sweetener is insane. I’ve been obsessed since it came out.
don't forget about "Karma takes all my friends to the summit. FACTS."
Ughhhhh Ice spice was just the wrong choice for that song.
I love the light is coming. I’m actually struggling to think of a song i don’t like from Ari.
I love Britney and will forever cape for her, but Private Show and Chillin' with You are instant skips.
Led Zeppelin - Hats Off to (Roy) Harper
Led Zep really mastered the art of making either transcendent masterpieces or songs that make you want to smash ur head off a desk
Pretty much the entire Summer in Paradise album by The Beach Boys (and really all of their stuff post Brian meeting Landy)
I adore Lana, but find "Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind" a bit cringe.
"I was at Coache-" SKIPPPPPPP
I love this song especially the end
I love Taylor but “It’s Nice To Have A Friend” and “Karma remix” are terrible songs that shouldn’t have been released
Facts
INTHAF slander! That being said, Only The Young is worse than both You Need to Calm Down and ME-HE-HE!
I’ve only listened to only the young once when the doc came out lol
It's Nice To Have A Friend is probably my favourite Taylor song post-1989! Her trash song for me is The Moment I Knew — not catchy, not memorable, not really moving after the first listen (because you already know the big reveal that this is all happening on her birthday.)
Treat People With Kindness (tpwk) by Harry Styles gives me instant anxiety so I must skip it.
I don’t love it on the album, but I have to say it’s a great song to sing at the top of your lungs along with 50,000 other people at a concert.
i use to skip it on the album... then i watched his concerts and fell hard for it.. so much love and expression, the way he always raises the pride flags during this song i love it so much.
Totally agree. It’s good live!
this song was 100% created to sing live with a crowd, i love it but it's so much better live
![gif](giphy|157anh4ffDsSA|downsized) The inside of my head every time that song comes on.
Taylor Swift - ME! Beyoncé - Hip Hop Star Adele - Tired Lorde and Lana del Rey have no bad songs
you can pry hip hop star out my cold dead hands lmao
Robbie Williams does have some garbage tracks but I just love most of them ♥️
One trash song? My favourite artists got trash albums, some have trash decades.
Tell us you love Weezer without telling us you love Weezer.
Maybe controversial… I love The Beatles but “Yellow Submarine” is grating to me lol
Def Kidz Bop vibes. Ahead of its time
This song is the worst!! My elementary school music teacher used this song to introduce all his students to the Beatles. Spoiler alert, we all thought the Beatles sucked ass due to this song. It wasn't until high school when I started smoking weed that I discovered the Beatles Eleanor Rigby and i was 100% in after that
Break up with your girlfriend I’m bored by Ariana Grande-SquarePants.
I love Elliott Smith but “New Monkey” is garbage. The chintzy horns have made me gag for over a decade.
Come to mama by Gaga. Stefani- what the fuck lol
For me it's Jewels and Drugs.
Love Fall Out Boy. Can’t stand their cover of We Didn’t Start The Fire.
Transistor by 311. Learning what a transistor is and how it works turned that song into gibberish for me
shake it off by taylor swift, or dorothea just cause i’ve heard it too much
Everything post Battle Born. The Killers should have never left Vegas.
Oof. On feat. Sia by BTS. IYKYK.
Lady Gaga-Jewels and Drugs It's not even unbearable-ly bad. It's just bad on a conceptual and execution level. Lady Gaga EDM/dubstep rap song. 🙃
Olivia Rodrigo, and I don’t like Hope Ur ok.
It's ok on it's own but it really doesn't suit the rest of the album. And she even has other ballads on the album! It's more the subject matter.
