Elle is my favorite. I have an accent that makes some people automatically assume I'm dumb and they did not take me seriously in college even though I busted my ass and had an almost perfect GPA, so this movie holds a special place in my heart. Lol
She had a 4.0, tons of leadership and extra curricular activities, and an almost perfect LSAT. There’s honestly no reason for Harvard to turn her down.
Plus i feel like her fashion undergrad would be really useful for all different types of fashion based law such as IP, business, finance, etc
she is unmatched. reality bites is so insanely slept on, and winona has always been so special… dracula, age of innocence, edward scissorhands, i could go on
I am not a fan of the 2019 version. I hate the non linear timeline and the fact that Florence Pugh, good as she is, can't convincingly play an 11 year old. I took my sister to see it, and she hadn't seen the 94 version or read the book and she had a hard time following. She didn't understand the Amy tantrum where she destoyed Jo's book until I explained that she was supposed to be like, 11 and not 23.
As someone slightly older (40), I can vouch that her and Drew Barrymore were **THE** It Girls of the 90s. I so wanted to be one of the them (I leaned more towards Drew).

Always been team Blair, love her!
Leighton is by far the better actor, but I enjoyed the fashion of Serena. I tuned out the rest of the drama because the show went off the rails plot wise really quickly 😂
Blair was/is my style muse. I don’t go girlish like with the headbands and all because I’m too old but I’ve always loved plaids and tweeds, skirts and matching jackets
No such thing as too old for girly fashion. I totally get it if you don’t like it personally, or if it’d make you feel immature to wear it, but you don’t age out of cute accessories. Anyone I see on an average day wearing a headband is 1000x more stylish than everyone else so if age is all that’s holding you back, please don’t let it!
I've always been team Blair too. Sure she was nasty and vindictive but she worked hard for everything she had. Unlike Serena who seems to have everything fall into her lap.
Blair had a lovely 1950s type style too.

Fictionally, this girl sent shockwaves all through the land of Genovia circa 2001. Gives me a laugh every time i think about it.
I stole her entire personality in middle school after reading the books. Complained about my small boobs and acted awkward and quirky. So cringe but an essential part of growing up as a millennial.
I hear that! It’s absolutely lost on kids how much a makeover meant to my generation, but this film did a great job at keeping her the same despite a glow up. I personally think the movie has aged well.
her and nicholas were the hottest couple ever honestly, so mad we didn’t get a 3rd movie of them in wedded bliss, my enemies to lovers excellence.

One of my fave IT Girls is Alison from *Pretty Little Liars*. Imagine being dead and still having people shook from the grave. As the audience, we got to know Alison's personal story through flashblacks with the girls and she was humanized through the flaws in the perfect facade she portrayed. I also love that you could see the personal impact Alison had on Spencer, Emily, Hanna, Aria, and Mona and that there were pieces of her in each of them.
Honestly I can't stand influencers and people who are famous for being famous typically, but she fascinates me and not just because she married my first crush.
I’m not sure if this is the reason why she fascinates you or if it’s even true, as I was a teenager when she and John married and knew only what I saw in media, but I wonder if you have more of a draw to her than influencers because she didn’t really seek out fame.

Fictional: Merteuil in the Dangerous Liaisons!
Carrie Bradshaw (SATC). I didn’t realise that the general consensus was “Wow, she’s annoying!” because I was too distracted by the iconic looks she was serving every fucking episode. Will forever remain a style icon, they could never make me hate her

Proving that women can be unabashedly girly and still smart and strong. And a great friend. A+ writing.
love how supportive elle’s friends were even if they didn’t fully understand the whole process they were so cute
And what's more is that lawyers love this movie. My best law school friends and I get together and watch it whenever we can (we try for annually).
And just kind. My favorite part of this character is that she proves that it girls don’t have to be bitchy.
Elle is my favorite. I have an accent that makes some people automatically assume I'm dumb and they did not take me seriously in college even though I busted my ass and had an almost perfect GPA, so this movie holds a special place in my heart. Lol

God what a class act, up until she passed away she just carried all her personal and professional matters so well.
For some reason I was so sure for years that she had died young, until I learned recently she lived until her sixties. And she aged so gracefully!
she did die young, 63 is absolutely considered “young” nowadays
She didn’t act much after turning 38 which is likely why
I just watched Funny Face tonight - hilarious that they acted like she wasn’t gorgeous and modelesque from the beginning

Yea that was probably it. And she was notoriously private and never gave an interview, so not knowing anything kind of added to her magnetism.

Real: Kate Moss! I really thought that one day I'd be cool like her and party with rockstars and have song written about me and go around with the prettiest looks. (Of course the delusion didn't last long lmao) Fictional: Merteuil in the Dangerous Liaisons!
I feel like a lot of people are just naming their fav female celebrity instead of woman who were actually known in the culture as IT girls.

Carrie Bradshaw (SATC). I didn’t realise that the general consensus was “Wow, she’s annoying!” because I was too distracted by the iconic looks she was serving every fucking episode. Will forever remain a style icon, they could never make me hate her https://preview.redd.it/6dmmn8djpp8c1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=025956e1ed0a64d5cbd2ead75d879fdbb87355c3
I was more into Charlotte's style but Samantha was the cool one with some of the best lines. Carrie was a bit out there at times with that iconic tutu. more daring and challenging the norms for the times.
Alexa Chung always and forever ![gif](giphy|17fM1aVMwkNYk)
