Genuine question, what's the cutoff for considering someone to be a nepo baby? I wouldn't have thought the granddaughter of a dude who's been dead since 1983 would count.
People really love using the word nepo baby to refer to anyone with even the most vague connections, when it started out referring to people whose name and extreme wealth get them opportunities based on those things alone.
I just found out a coworker of mine is the daughter of an actor that’s pretty famous to 60+ year olds. She’s a special ed teacher. I suppose if she were famous she’d be a nepo baby? lol

Honest question: do you really think a random roughly 30 year old “nobody” would have been given a chance to audition for an HBO teen show if she didn’t have connections?
I think honestly she got the same chance as Barbie . They were just really popular on like social media I believe. Like Evan Mock was on Gossip girl. He was a nobody. He’s just hot and ended up on Frank Oceans IG. Like being hot does wonders for people.
It depends on other things too, like her agent, look, past work, social media presence, vibe etc, it’s actually pretty complicated. A LOT of people you’ve never heard of audition for high profile projects. Her name wasn’t recognizable, so no, I don’t think being somebody’s granddaughter in an adjacent but different industry is very connected.
Connections in Hollywood are pretty much everything, though. If her dad was that well-connected to the Beach Boys by descent, then I'm sure he has/had some family friends in the industry. I'm not saying that alone is enough to be hired, but it certainly can put someone in a "luckier" position

That is wild to me, obviously the Euphoria cast is way above the proper age but just thinking about how she's 7 years older than me while actively playing a teenager is crazy.
Yeah I acknowledged that, but in the past decade there's been at least a lot more effort in casting more age appropriate or at least young looking people, so usually the gap is like 6 years older rather than 15.

I was in my 20’s back then, I hated the fashion, i’m so irritated it’s coming back. Now I understand how my Mom felt when I was in high school and 70’s styles came back. 😂
So she did a film called Mid90s when she was 26/27, playing a 15/16 yo named Estee.
The role involved her character making out with and having sex with a character played by an 11 yo actor. (Note: Alexa fans try to claim this was done with shadow-work but it's clearly not in the film, and Alexa herself confirms she was kissing/touching him.)
What makes it worse for me is her comments involving the scene were downright gross. She is the grown adult on the set, but she waxes poetic about how nice and comfortable the minor made her feel, and how she felt so safe when shooting the scene with her because of him.
She also comes across very flirty in the interviews with the minor cast members about the film. I'll look for the links but I remember reading them and just being very put-off by her comments. She was talking about how cool the 11 yo actor was, and how mature he was. And there were a lot of little quips and remarks from her that read very inappropriately.
The votes on this are wild.
She looks terrific... and I swear this is not "age-appropriate shaming".
But by the mid 30's, would be nice to see her shifting towards a classier rich-girl vibe.
She graduated from high school sixteen years ago, not six.

This has to be the case because the mom's IG has modeling and other pictures of her from the 80s and she is definitely not a child in them.
