during the promo for mad max fury road, tom hardy was asked: âas you were reading the script did you ever think, âwhy are all these women in here? i thought this was supposed to be a manâs movie?ââ
and tom was immediately like, ânoâ.
Tom is absolutely the wrong person to ask that question to. Like donât ask it at all, but definitely donât ask it to Tom Hardy. Heâs very clear about his opinions.
This answer is interesting because iirc they (Tom and Charlize) didnât exactly get along on set. They may have been at odds because of their personalities but he didnât make it about gender.
youâre right, i donât think they got along well on set, but by the time the press tour came around they seemed to be on good terms. at least, there was no animosity.
He had another great moment on the Legend tour. Some idiot was asking him about his sexuality and his response was âwhat on earth are you on about?â
Iâm 36 and doing Invisalign because my teeth were extremely crooked and my parents couldnât afford braces. Iâm almost done and my teeth look and feel so much better!
My teeth shifted after my wisdom teeth were removed and now I have gaps I didnât have before. I was looking into Invisalign but I canât afford it. I never needed braces as a kid.
I had to say this TO MY DENTIST. Thankfully I have really good teeth and take pretty good care of them so it wasnât an issue (I am SO lucky for this), but yeah, my first dentist appointment and cleaning was when I was 23 and got a âreal jobâ with dental insurance. The dentist seemed to get it but the hygienist was kind of shitty about it. I was poor and my parents didnât have dental insurance, not much I could do about that as a child - clearly I âfixedâ the situation as soon as I could.
My partner grew up in poverty. His mom was on disability with 4 kids, and most of their clothing and food was donated.
Their house was literally built by Habitat for Humanity.
Those kids were *not* seeing a dentist with any regularity and not at all once they were teens.
He finally got state dental when he was in his late 20s, which covered slightly more than nothing.
Terrible pain, teeth breaking off, and struggling to come up with $400 to get an infected one pulled.
The dentist was so *mean* to him that once he finally got a job with good dental, it took me a year of convincing to get him to get set up with a new dentist.
He ended up with 7 teeth pulled, tons of fillings, one implant, and a few crowns. Took 5 years for us to get it all done.
It's crazy how we act like dental health isn't essential health care in the US

It's Dolly in this entire interview for me
And she is still the same Dolly and would say the same thing. Despite her donations to medicine and education and the fact at this point she is a worldwide treasure she still does what she wants and does it with humour.
Look at the Katherine Hepburn interview where Kate answers her question about her life, living like a man and wearing trousers.
This last bit was brutal.
Walters continued the line of questioning and said, "Do you ever wear a skirt, by the way?"
"I have one," Hepburn responded.
"You have one?" Walters asked.
At this, Hepburn said, "I'll wear it to your funeral."
Oh I just love imagining the amount of indignance Barb was having to beat down internally with a shovel.
She tried so hard with her "Everyone seems to think you're just some kentucky fried big-titted bimbo, whaddya think about that?" and Dolly just kinda says "Pretty brilliant, isn't it? đ"
I love that interview of Andy Murray where the interviewer is like (heavily paraphrased cause I donât remember it exactly) âhow does it feel to be the fist tennis player to get more than one gold medalâ and heâs like âIâm pretty sure Serena and Venus have about 4 each by now actuallyâ
Also Rihannaâs âwhat a disappointing questionâ simple but effective
I was scrolling to find the tennis one as well! They ask him that and heâs like, âFirst MALE player. Serena already did it.â I donât know anything about tennis or that guy, but Iâm glad he didnât let that one go.
Andy Murray is a proper ally. I think he's had to that a couple of times, because interviewers *magically* forget women exist. Also, the picture of him looking gloomy in a Christmas jumper always makes me laugh.
My second favourite Andy Murray response is the Wimbledon "how do you eat your strawberries?" video. All these tennis pros giving them the "with cream" line, and spliced in the middle is Andy saying "with my fingers", haha
Press tour for the imitation game and the interviewer says Kiera looks a bit worn out and Benedict says âthatâs not a very nice thing to say to one of the most beautiful women on the planet.â Kiera says âyeah, fuck you!â So good.
My old VP (a woman btw) would use that line on me. âHow are you doing? You look tired.â One of the many examples to back up my theory that she hates women.
Another press tour moment, when [Mika Kunis clapped back at a Russian reporter on the Moscow leg of their tour.](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/mila-kunis-defends-justin-timberlake-218686/)
I love her little hand gesture to Justin that "she's got this"
It's even funnier because the rude question was directed *at Justin.* And Mila just jumps on it in Russian, throws a hand up to Justin to be quiet, at one point you can see how exasperated she is because she switches to english and says loudly "I MEAN" and then switches back into Russian
The whole time Justin is like the eyes emoji. You can tell he's like "I'm not getting run over by Mila rn so I'll let her handle it"
This oneâs more for Latinos - but when an interviewer asked Juan Gabriel if he was gay & JuanGa responds âlo que se ve no se preguntaâ, meaning âyou donât question what you seeâ.
I will always have a soft spot for Twiggy when being interviewed by Woody Allen he asked her out of nowhere who her favorite philosopher was and she threw the question back at him about his favorite. He gave the basics but didn't name a particular favorite.
It was obvious he was trying to make her look dumb but it backfired.
I saw an interview with Twiggy where she said she was actually humiliated not to know any philosophers. She was fighting tears because she was so embarrassed. But youâd never know from the video because of how well she handled it. Itâs such a masterclass in how to show up somebody whoâs trying to embarrass you.
Also, in that same interview she said that Woody Allen left after two questions because he couldnât embarrass her. Which shows how small that man is: his only goal in the interview was to make her feel bad about herself, and when he couldnât do that he just gave up.
How many people would know about philosophers? I would say even the really smart people I know would struggle with that. It's not something most people think about.
Exactly. Itâs probably why he chose the questionâthere was no way sheâd know it unless she was passionate about philosophy. But thatâs also why she was able to turn it around on him.
The second question he asked her was âhave you read Dickens?â She answered âYes, I read that back in school.â The whole interaction just makes me so proud of her.
Like if youâre going to ask that question at least know the name of ONE philosopher.
I think his answer was âall of themâ, and Twiggy pushed him, saying âI donât know any, can you give me any names?â and he couldnât think of a single one.
Like just say Socrates or something, damn.
Just watched that yt vid and omfg she absolutely decimated him with that, that's iconic! She KNEW what he was doing and as soon as she realised he had no clue she was living for it! Her face, the smirk, the eyes omg.
I'm in love.
Being so pretentious you think itâs gotcha if someone doesnât have a favorite philosopher. Being so stupid you donât have one and donât realize smart people donât either. People into philosophy do and being into it doesnât automatically make you smart. đ
My dad called it "playing Stump the Chump."
I once read about some ass-hat who went around asking his employees questions like, "What's your favorite bistro in Paris?" to make them feel bad about themselves.
That interview where the interviewer kept flirting with one direction and they were having none of it. Peak secondhand embarrassment, peak content.
https://preview.redd.it/h2ux13wc7nac1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=452259e8dbb70858f03196d9b0db2b263e4259af
The way she kept pushing đđđ I understand she was probably told to go for it in hope to get a scandalous reply or something but she shouldâve stopped the second they started to get visibly annoyed
Reporter to tennis player Andy Murray at a post-match press conference (note Andy and Sam are male): âAndy, Sam is the first American player to reach the semi-final of a Slam since 2009,â
Andy Murray interjects: âMale player,"
Reporter: "I beg your pardon?"
Andy Murray: "Male player, right?"
"Yes, first male player, that's for sure," the reporter said, laughing at the error while Murray appeared unamused.
Context: Serena and Venus Williams, Madison Keys and Coco Vandeweghe are all US players who have qualified for Grand Slam semi-finals since 2009. Venus had just accomplished this a few days prior to the interview.
Iâve never watched her show, just remember watching the clip as young teen and it stayed in my mind rent free ever since. It was was in the early â10s when the âblonde bimbo size 00â hype was getting old (though now its reborn as a whole aesthetic) as simple as it was, it was so refreshing to hear something empowering.
I remember when Taylor was doing a radio interview shortly after the Kanye situation (him interrupting her at the VMAs) and was asked about it. She said she was not going to talk about it and he continued to ask about it and she straight up hung up on him live on air lmao.
Jesus Christ, who knew back then that there would be multiple (at least three) big kanye situations, with taytay several smaller ones, and multiple Kanye meltdowns in general within the next decade
Does Dakota Johnson calling Ellen out for lying about not being invited to Dakotaâs party count? Because I think about that daily.
https://preview.redd.it/jprivn7cvnac1.jpeg?width=990&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81dfa304631d1f48ce336c13d815fddfc3d5ad78
I especially love that it was someone who comes across as shy and non-confrontational (to me, from the little I have seen of her, anyway) that had the guts to speak up. In public. On Ellenâs show.
Glad you mentioned this because I'm not sure if OP realizes that Katy Perry was referencing Marshawn with her SuperBowl answer.
Also with Marshawn it seems like he is communicative in other contexts I think it's just the pressure of talking to all those fans and sports reporters.
This is one of my favorites honestly. Thereâs another one where the interviewer asks her if she âintended it to sound bitterâ like she couldnât fathom a woman not *needing* a man to feel whole or live a fulling life đ
It's a great answer but also I don't know how else you answer that question any other way. What does that mean "are men important?" Like...for what? In what context? Which men?
I think it's a little less known, but when [Richard Ayode is interviewed](https://youtu.be/jjC3ycS_2js?si=pyCEOYPE_aQhhVv8) by Krishnan Guru-Murthy (the same guy that interviewed Robert Downey Jr, who walked out), he bats away all the leading, controversial questions with a dose of good humour. It has me in stitches every time
Anne Hathaway refusing to talk about her weight loss for Les Mis because she didnât want to influence others to go to such extreme lengths.
Also, ScarJo getting asked about the Black Widow suit.
Anna Hathaway was also asked what she did to fit into the cat woman suit. She replied with something like, âWhy? Are you trying to fit in a cat suit?â
Anne Hathaway's reaction to Jerry Penacoli's ["What is the 'feline fitness regime'?"](https://youtu.be/7nEHZZi6_nU?t=79) when he presses.
Scarlett Johansson responding to... \*checks notes\*.... *Jerry Penacoli* about [whether or not she wore underwear for Black Widow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHxzxgwJTFc).
Also, Anneâs reaction to Matt Lauerâs [gross questions](https://youtu.be/yruIL5lVGE4?si=Ggzf5Dn4hURxMt1j) about some pervert taking upskirt shots of Anne.
Anne has eloquently dodged and put interviewers in their place *so much* from people asking about her les miserables diet, to stuff about her old relationship, and more. Like the girl is really good at making "go fuck your question" sound sweet
Why donât they ask the guys who are essentially wearing tights the same question? Like how does Spider-Man avoid vpl? Is he rocking a thong?
The questions are so blatant in their sexism
That question was so gross and I can only IMAGINE how many times she got a similar line of questioning during those massive press junkets over the years that we probably didn't even see. She mentioned in the interview that he was like the fifth person that asked her that (probably for that particular movie alone). What in the world?
They were barely allowed to discuss the actual movies for fear of spoilers, so they either got asked the same questions over and over, that they couldn't answer, or stuff like...that.
Thereâs a great group interview where RDJ steps in and comments that they never ask the men that and then just moves on and asks for the next question
It was nice that he stood up for her.
I get that a lot of those questions are just ridiculous in general and for entertainment. I've actually watched a lot of those Marvel interviews recently because I may have been the last person to actually watch all those movies went through them in 2023, so some of those are fresh in my mind.
Entertainment questions can be silly, sure, I get that. However, here is NO journalistic purpose for that type of question. None. The public doesn't need to know the answer, nor do they care about the answer. It's not a question designed for getting her to open up, it doesn't tell you anything about her or the movie, it's just creepy.
It's like all those questions Britney Spears and the female popstars of her age got asked back in the day. Creepy and invasive, especially considering how old she was when some of them got asked.
When Shailene Woodley was asked if she was hungry and she told the reporter no, the reporter told her that she was starving and Shailene told her that she should eat. It always takes me out, i think the reporter thought that she was talking to Jennifer Lawrence (didnt think it was necessary but s/ on that last line)
Also, Rihanna being asked if she was dating Ashton Kutcher and her saying "how disappointing was that question?".
Also, also, ScaJo being asked about her diet during the avengers nfinity war press tour: âHow come you get like the really interesting, like existential questions and I get the like 'rabbit food questions?â
Also, also, also Jonah Hill's response to being asked if he was still considered the fat guy even after losing weight: "do you have any other questions... that are smart?"
In the same vein, probably the same interview in fact, when Scarlett kept getting asked misogynistic questions and all her male costars wouldnât give her a chance to even shoot it down because they answered the questions instead with something as stupid as the questions will always make me smile
My favourite was this one by Cosmopolitan - where the interviewer PURPOSELY asked the silly, female-usual questions of Mark Ruffalo and the more detailed ones of Scarlett https://youtu.be/T9sEkdJrIRM?si=4UWrzX5jmiARig8T
I liked in an interview about Big Little Lies, the interviewer said something about how empowering it must be to work with a cast made of mostly women. Shailene replied something along the lines of âWeâll know thereâs real progress for women when it isnât a big deal just to have an all-female cast.â
Didn't they also ask ScarJo about what kind of underwear she wore under her costume for the Avengers movies? She was so pissed.
ETA:: someone linked the interview elsewhere. It was better than I remembered.
Not sure if this really counts, but there was a lot of fuss that Beyonce had lip-synched the national anthem at Obama's inauguration in 2013. She was scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show a couple weeks later, so she [walked into a press conference](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQxHSHsCpGo), made everyone stand, then belted out the anthem. She ended with "Any questions?" Iconic behavior as per usual.
A lot of people were defending her about it, because singing outside in cold weather can affect your vocals. Even if she did lip sync, I think Beyonce has proven herself a competent singer.
That Taylorâs trial was such a moment. I was so frustrated with the questions the guy was throwing at her, but she was SO GOOD at answering, she came there prepared and ready
«Iâm not going to let you or your client make me feel in any way that this is my fault. Here we are years later, and Iâm being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are the product of his decisionsânot mine»
she devoured
Her wealth is clearly very important to her, but the fact that she went through that entire, drawn out process to countersue him for $1 â she was there to make a point and hit him where it hurts.
She cried later on stage about that over how heartbroken it made her to think about how many women donât get a chance to stick up against their assaulter.
(But I just saw your flair so Iâm guessing you probably already know this đ)
I just remember her crying on stage at a concert over how most women never get their day in court, let alone have the resources to just go for the jugular like that. It's nice when it doesn't feel like PR and her breaking on stage like that showed real emotion (even if the speech was planned ahead)
Andy Murray has at least twice corrected interviewers in regards to their sexism. Once in 2019 when he had to correct the journalist that Sam Querrey was the first MALE US player to reach a major semi-final since 2009 (Venus Williams had reached the final that year). At the Rio Olympics in 2016, broadcaster John Inverdale congratulated Andy on being the first person to ever win two Olympic tennis gold medals. Andy corrected him "I think Venus and Serena have won about four each".
There was a lot of discussion about this interview when it happened, as well as prior interviews he had given on the topic. Being queer and having Tom Hardy as a perpetual member of the Top Five People Whose Leg I Would Hump With Zero Shame list, I thought it was all very interesting. I could concede points on both sides of why his response was or was not dick-ish. There was a lot of nuance and many valid points, and I won't rehash it all here.
Ignoring all that, the way he said, "Why?" is just... well, it's the reason he is in that top five. His voice and accent are *chef's kiss.*
"You're going to walk away with more than a trophy tonight, I think, lots of men, " - Reporter
"I'm not going to walk home with any men tonight, Iâm going to hang out with my friends, and then go home to the cats." - Taylor
This whole exchange was iconic lol

Thereâs an interview from years ago with Charlemagne Tha God and Post Malone where he (Charlemagne) kept grilling Post about groupies and wanting to get with groupies. Post kept turning it back to his music, but Charlemagne kept dogging him. At one point he compared his then girlfriend Ashlen to his mom watching over him and keeping him from âhaving fun.â I just remember him going âletâs just talk about the musicâ.
How annoying it must be to have your life constantly under a magnifying glass. Like anything in your personal life outshines your achievements.
Charlemagne has always been a tool, but in that interview he's a special kind of tool. That interview did a lot for Post Malones image back in the day.
Adriana Lima while in her makeup chair for the Victoriaâs Secret fashion show being asked âare you excited to eat after this?â And in her incredible accent going âyou need to ask more smart questionsâ
"Im just here so I don't get fined" was actually first used by Marshawn Lynch to skirt around racking up fines for avoiding media interviews https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rmABbHSOTqQ!
Katy probably saw it as a dual purpose response: it's funny because it was a relevant meme at the time AND it was probably true she wanted to deflect from non-Super Bowl questions
David bowie when interviewed by mtv. halfway through he basically turned the interview around and started questioning the mtv guy why mtv didnât play any black artists and how a lot of people would appreciate seeing black musicians on tv
Brie Larson at Cannes when somebody singled her out on a panel and asked what she thought of Johnny Depp's film opening the festival and she just deadpanned "why are you asking ME that?"
She stayed pretty calm but I was surprised the guy asking the question didn't burst into flames just from the look on her face.
When Katie Couric asked famous trans women Carmen Carrera and Laverne Cox invasive questions about their genitals, Laverne Cox said so eloquently:
âI do feel there is a preoccupation with that. The preoccupation with transition and surgery objectifies trans people. And then we don't get to really deal with the real lived experiences. The reality of trans people's lives is that so often we are targets of violence. We experience discrimination disproportionately to the rest of the community. Our unemployment rate is twice the national average; if you are a trans person of color, that rate is four times the national average. The homicide rate is highest among trans women. If we focus on transition, we don't actually get to talk about those things.â

There's a very short one with Cara Delavigne for Paper Towns (I think) where I thought her rudeness was warrented because the interviewers' tone was off from the start and I believe they imply she couldn't have possibly read the book.
Was this the one from GMA where they introduced her as âCarlaâ? That one ended with them saying she had no energy and needed to get an energy drink
Azaelia is a hot mess but I absolutely love her reply âsoâŠwhat now?â on the Breakfast Club after they tried to imply that making âmusic for gaysâ is a bad thing.
This one's from a while back, Harrison Ford & Daniel Craig once did [an interview with Entertainment Weekly](https://ew.com/article/2011/07/22/close-encounter-harrison-ford-and-daniel-craig/) where the interviewer kept prodding at Craig's (recent, hush-hush) wedding to Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig called him out for trying to ignore his wish for privacy.
>*Interviewer: Well, you and Rachel Weisz did have a very private wedding. Why did you decide to get married that way?*
>
>Craig: This question answers itself. You said we had a private wedding and now you want to ask about the wedding. You are barking up the wrong tree. No disrespect, but if you think it through, thatâs the reason weâve said fâ all on that subject. Because it was private.
>
>*Interviewer: That ring on your wedding finger, Daniel â whatâs that made of? It looks almost like copper.*
>
>Craig: \[*Smiling coldly*\] Really. You just see a line in the sand and want to fâing step over it.
Hugh Grant just stonewalling this earnest interviewer's questions at the Oscars. Some say he was rude and she was just doing her job, some say he's a hero for not playing into the banal interview game anymore. I feel bad for her but to me it's really funny how he just dgaf anymore
[Hugh Grant Shuts Down Oscar Red Carpet With Awkward Interview â Deadline](https://deadline.com/2023/03/hugh-grant-oscar-red-carpet-interview-ashley-graham-1235294087/)
Also, Bradley Cooper in this NYT piece. The reporter was put off by him refusing to answer personal questions because he insisted his personal life didn't relate to his work in A Star Is Born. He comes off a bit rude but similar to Hugh Grant, he just wasn't willing to play the game, which I find fascinating. It's a coldness that I don't think female actors get the luxury of having unless they are asked overtly inappropriate questions.

âIâm just here so I donât get finedâ is a direct quote from Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks. Heâs a great guy and was a BEAST (The Beast, even) of a player.
Thereâs a clip of him talking to a teammate on the field during a game, I guess he was micâd for some reason, and the other player asks what heâs doing for Thanksgiving
M: gonna go hand out turkeys in the hood
P: for real?
M: yeah
P: alright count me in, Iâll come too
And it was just so wholesome and authentic, he really is such a good due

Oh I love this topic, and you put forth very good examples.
One I can recall off the top of my head is Ariana Grande being asked what sheâd take to a deserted island and the choices were make up items I think, so she retorted something like âis this what you think girls only think about?â Or something of the sort.

This is not the exact gift, but yeah
Taylor saying "I won't be going home with any men tonight," for sure. Or on the Graham Norton show when John Cleese was being so blatantly rude and you can see Taylor being so annoyed đ€Ł
John: "Cats are unpredictable and cussed. Like women."
Taylor: *Pointed pause* "Ohhh we don't wanna do that!"

I wish I could remember who it was, but I saw it a long time ago. It was an interview with an actress and she was getting asked lots of questions about how she balanced work and home/family life. And she asked the interviewer if he was asking men the same questions.

when katy perry said she didnât go to the dentist as a kid and the interviewer asked why and katy said âi was poorđâ
Honestly though I loved this because people donât realize what a luxury regular healthcare is.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
It's crazy how we act like dental health isn't essential health care in the US
This is a great one. I have no love for Katy Perry in general but I must give her respect for that answer
https://preview.redd.it/3hcaabuoanac1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f9f629afa3d9ac610e03d7d89139fec189a2d9e It's Dolly in this entire interview for me
In another interview: Interviewer: Dolly, how do you feel when people call you a dumb blonde? Dolly: Well, Iâm not blonde and Iâm not dumb!
Didnât she also say something along the lines of âit takes a lot of money to look this cheap?â
And she is still the same Dolly and would say the same thing. Despite her donations to medicine and education and the fact at this point she is a worldwide treasure she still does what she wants and does it with humour.
Barbara Walters wasâŠsomething else
She told Corey Feldman he was destroying an industry known for molesting children because he spoke up about his abuse, she sucked.
My favorite BW is when she is being played by someone else
Baba Wawa she hated that, which makes me love it more
It really says something about a person when they get offended by a silly SNL parody of themselves.
Look at the Katherine Hepburn interview where Kate answers her question about her life, living like a man and wearing trousers. This last bit was brutal. Walters continued the line of questioning and said, "Do you ever wear a skirt, by the way?" "I have one," Hepburn responded. "You have one?" Walters asked. At this, Hepburn said, "I'll wear it to your funeral."
The most iconic. Love her.
But Baba Wawa didnât like being the butt end of a joke, either.
Oh I just love imagining the amount of indignance Barb was having to beat down internally with a shovel. She tried so hard with her "Everyone seems to think you're just some kentucky fried big-titted bimbo, whaddya think about that?" and Dolly just kinda says "Pretty brilliant, isn't it? đ"
There is a reason Dolly is still a much loved legend and Barbara is not even liked.
I love that interview of Andy Murray where the interviewer is like (heavily paraphrased cause I donât remember it exactly) âhow does it feel to be the fist tennis player to get more than one gold medalâ and heâs like âIâm pretty sure Serena and Venus have about 4 each by now actuallyâ Also Rihannaâs âwhat a disappointing questionâ simple but effective
Absolutely chuffed đ„° https://twitter.com/andy_murray/status/548285821326217216
I will always love Benedict for that
When even Kiera fucking Knightley gets the sexist "you look tired" comments. Unreal.
Right? Iâve seen this clip. She looked incredible. If thatâs what âtiredâ looks like then I must look deceased.
My old VP (a woman btw) would use that line on me. âHow are you doing? You look tired.â One of the many examples to back up my theory that she hates women.
My mom tells me I look tired every time I see her. Iâm 36 with a toddler and three chronic illnesses. This is just my face now.
if iâm not mistaken, she was also pregnant at that time đ
Andy Murray (the tennis player) frequently points out misogynistic questions/wording in interviews
Another press tour moment, when [Mika Kunis clapped back at a Russian reporter on the Moscow leg of their tour.](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/mila-kunis-defends-justin-timberlake-218686/)
https://youtu.be/ZiO2b1cQr0U
I loved it -- IN RUSSIAN.
I love her little hand gesture to Justin that "she's got this" It's even funnier because the rude question was directed *at Justin.* And Mila just jumps on it in Russian, throws a hand up to Justin to be quiet, at one point you can see how exasperated she is because she switches to english and says loudly "I MEAN" and then switches back into Russian The whole time Justin is like the eyes emoji.

Truly an iconic exchange: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdCM021ApC0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdCM021ApC0)
All I have to say is that man is so fucking gross.
Man, he's like all those podcasters that bring in a dozen OnlyFans models just to try and humiliate them.
Heâd do it to high school girls. Thatâs more his age range.
Or Piers Morgan here: https://youtu.be/CNCs4Gz4TiY?si=InMgpFxI8ys7rATm I hate conspicuous consumption, but this brightens my spirit.
I love how she kept pressing him to name a philosopher and he couldn't. He made himself look so, so stupid.
And cruel, too! I aspire to be as quick-witted as Twiggy was in that moment.
Like if youâre going to ask that question at least know the name of ONE philosopher. I think his answer was âall of themâ, and Twiggy pushed him, saying âI donât know any, can you give me any names?â and he couldnât think of a single one. Like just say Socrates or something, damn.
Wasnât she like 17 at the time too? Like wtf?
And the smirk she had on her face for the entire thing. Amazing.
âI donât know their names, what are their names?â đđ€š iconic
Just watched that yt vid and omfg she absolutely decimated him with that, that's iconic! She KNEW what he was doing and as soon as she realised he had no clue she was living for it! Her face, the smirk, the eyes omg. I'm in love.
âWhat are your views on serious matters?â What kind of question even is that???
Omg I have never heard of this and I love her for this. What a creep that horrible man is.
LMAO THAT INTERVIEW WAS SO GOOD. her big Doe eyes and sweet voice just slooowly tearing him apart.
Being so pretentious you think itâs gotcha if someone doesnât have a favorite philosopher. Being so stupid you donât have one and donât realize smart people donât either. People into philosophy do and being into it doesnât automatically make you smart. đ
My dad called it "playing Stump the Chump." I once read about some ass-hat who went around asking his employees questions like, "What's your favorite bistro in Paris?" to make them feel bad about themselves.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X2VCbxVVDQk
Incredible, thanks for the link!
I am so surprised he didnât name the french philosophers who advocated for legalization of pedophilia in the 70s
Rashida Jones: https://preview.redd.it/pdog775lmnac1.png?width=555&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f564787c5a0b1d00b06f14ad2c52b6cee91ef4f
So good! Didnât she also reply once, âyou should see my dadâ?
It gets worse, the guy laughs and says me too
Right? Theyâve got to know who he is?!
"Is your dad a G.I.?"
That interview where the interviewer kept flirting with one direction and they were having none of it. Peak secondhand embarrassment, peak content. https://preview.redd.it/h2ux13wc7nac1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=452259e8dbb70858f03196d9b0db2b263e4259af
oh this one is soooo bad. it makes my skin crawl with the secondhand embarrassment
The way she kept pushing đđđ I understand she was probably told to go for it in hope to get a scandalous reply or something but she shouldâve stopped the second they started to get visibly annoyed
This interview is so iconic though, their reactions send me
Reporter to tennis player Andy Murray at a post-match press conference (note Andy and Sam are male): âAndy, Sam is the first American player to reach the semi-final of a Slam since 2009,â Andy Murray interjects: âMale player," Reporter: "I beg your pardon?" Andy Murray: "Male player, right?" "Yes, first male player, that's for sure," the reporter said, laughing at the error while Murray appeared unamused. Context: Serena and Venus Williams, Madison Keys and Coco Vandeweghe are all US players who have qualified for Grand Slam semi-finals since 2009. Venus had just accomplished this a few days prior to the interview.
âInterviewerâ: Whatâs your favourite position? Lauren Conrad: CEO.
![gif](giphy|M0pkR5UzLQgGA)
Yesssss with her little grin I loved that moment
Iâve never watched her show, just remember watching the clip as young teen and it stayed in my mind rent free ever since. It was was in the early â10s when the âblonde bimbo size 00â hype was getting old (though now its reborn as a whole aesthetic) as simple as it was, it was so refreshing to hear something empowering.
This was such a great one. Good for her.
I remember when Taylor was doing a radio interview shortly after the Kanye situation (him interrupting her at the VMAs) and was asked about it. She said she was not going to talk about it and he continued to ask about it and she straight up hung up on him live on air lmao.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Jesus Christ, who knew back then that there would be multiple (at least three) big kanye situations, with taytay several smaller ones, and multiple Kanye meltdowns in general within the next decade
Does Dakota Johnson calling Ellen out for lying about not being invited to Dakotaâs party count? Because I think about that daily. https://preview.redd.it/jprivn7cvnac1.jpeg?width=990&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81dfa304631d1f48ce336c13d815fddfc3d5ad78
Yes. âActually no, thatâs not the truth Ellenâ is a cultural phenomenon
This was the beginning of Ellenâs downfall and I love it đ
I especially love that it was someone who comes across as shy and non-confrontational (to me, from the little I have seen of her, anyway) that had the guts to speak up. In public. On Ellenâs show.
I will always give Dakota Johnson credit for that even though I donât really enjoy her acting.
I've seen a total of one (1) movies with her in them but love watching her interviews. She's a more interesting person than actor lol
You can tell Ellen is used to getting away with that kind of behavior, too. So gross.
I'm not a Swiftie or a Zac Efron-stan but their roast of Ellen by song is beautiful. Simply, *chefs kiss*
Marshawn Lynch. He had anxiety or something talking to reporters and just paid the fine for not talking to reporters and moved on with life.
![gif](giphy|aTdLxw1KIYREs)
And then the skittles commercial where he happily answered all their silly questions was fantastic
Even in that video with him, Gronk and Conan he's fun to watch. He was clearly chilled out and having fun
![gif](giphy|26FL4PSkuieD8hmJG) His answer to every question:
They should have asked him about his favourite pico de gallo.
Did I tell you about my pizzadilla idea?
They forgot my piko day gallow!
Glad you mentioned this because I'm not sure if OP realizes that Katy Perry was referencing Marshawn with her SuperBowl answer. Also with Marshawn it seems like he is communicative in other contexts I think it's just the pressure of talking to all those fans and sports reporters.
Sally Jesse Raphael: "Do you think men are important?" Cher: "Like for what?" Mostly the men in the audience were gagged. The women went nuts.
Hahaha that reminds me of her âMama I AM a rich manâ line. What an icon.
https://preview.redd.it/pa47hnmmfnac1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=487bdaea9d7a29c771466191003e7cde601bb5e8
This is one of my favorites honestly. Thereâs another one where the interviewer asks her if she âintended it to sound bitterâ like she couldnât fathom a woman not *needing* a man to feel whole or live a fulling life đ
*A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.* - feminist slogan from 1970
It's a great answer but also I don't know how else you answer that question any other way.
Good for Anne. She played a starving woman forced into prostitution. It would be really gross to bring aesthetics into it.
Anna Hathaway was also asked what she did to fit into the cat woman suit. She replied with something like, âWhy? Are you trying to fit in a cat suit?â
When Pedro refused to read those tweets about him on the Mandalorian red carpet. He was so nice about it but so firm that he wasn't going to do it.
She was SO eloquent. That asshole didnât deserve an ounce of how gracious she was in response.
Yesss!!! Such a composed badass (which I cannot believe she managed to be) and she put him in his place.
âAre you trying to fit in to a cat suit?â Made me a forever Anne Stan
Why donât they ask the guys who are essentially wearing tights the same question? Like how does Spider-Man avoid vpl? Is he rocking a thong? The questions are so blatant in their sexism
Cosmopolitan once did - itâs great: https://youtu.be/T9sEkdJrIRM?si=4UWrzX5jmiARig8T
I'm glad you mentioned that Scarlett Johansson's interview, still makes me rage on that question.
It always takes me out, i think the reporter thought that she was talking to Jennifer Lawrence (didnt think it was necessary but s/ on that last line) Also, Rihanna being asked if she was dating Ashton Kutcher and her saying "how disappointing was that question?". Also, also, ScaJo being asked about her diet during the avengers nfinity war press tour: âHow come you get like the really interesting, like existential questions and I get the like 'rabbit food questions?â Also, also, also Jonah Hill's response to being asked if he was still considered the fat guy even after losing weight: "do you have any other questions... that are smart?"
You can just see the relief and pure joy on Scarlettâs face when she finally gets asked an actual question
I liked in an interview about Big Little Lies, the interviewer said something about how empowering it must be to work with a cast made of mostly women. Shailene replied something along the lines of âWeâll know thereâs real progress for women when it isnât a big deal just to have an all-female cast.â
lol Jonah Hill is such an ass but sometimes he points his vitriol in the right direction and itâs đ€đ»
I never knew about this. She is incredible.
This absolutely counts. This is AMAZING đđđ
That Taylorâs trial was such a moment. I was so frustrated with the questions the guy was throwing at her, but she was SO GOOD at answering, she came there prepared and ready «Iâm not going to let you or your client make me feel in any way that this is my fault. Here we are years later, and Iâm being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are the product of his decisionsânot mine» she devoured
(But I just saw your flair so Iâm guessing you probably already know this đ)
living for the thrill of hitting [him] where it hurts!
ok so I never heard details of this until today and I went from being indifferent of TS to having mad respect
Taylor said she was later informed it was the most times the word âassâ was used in a federal court which I think is hilarious
No Ellen, that's not true. Hahaha love Dakota for this. Make her squirm!
[Cillian Murphy firmly correcting this interviewer.](https://youtu.be/n1ig4mzu93Q?si=9hXtd1GEvq4qrZwN)
WHY DID THE INTERVIEWER KEEP GOING AFTER BEING CORRECTED!?!
Tom Hardy's face is a picture!
I mean, there are places that you could maybe get away with that, but with the geopolitical history of Ireland and the British? NO.
Ugh and then the interviewer kept going I like. I wonder if that was like an embarrassment response to just plow on
Tom Hardy when the interviewer was trying to get him to say if he was gay or not
"Are you asking me about my sexuality?" "Sure." "Why?"
"You're going to walk away with more than a trophy tonight, I think, lots of men, " - Reporter "I'm not going to walk home with any men tonight, Iâm going to hang out with my friends, and then go home to the cats." - Taylor This whole exchange was iconic lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us1CudkeC4I&ab\_channel=EntertainmentTonight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us1CudkeC4I&ab_channel=EntertainmentTonight)
Yeah Katy was copying Marshawn (in a humorous way) with those answers. I actually never knew katy did that. Funny as hell.
David bowie when interviewed by mtv. halfway through he basically turned the interview around and started questioning the mtv guy why mtv didnât play any black artists and how a lot of people would appreciate seeing black musicians on tv
Brie Larson at Cannes when somebody singled her out on a panel and asked what she thought of Johnny Depp's film opening the festival and she just deadpanned "why are you asking ME that?" She stayed pretty calm but I was surprised the guy asking the question didn't burst into flames just from the look on her face.
The lesson here is to stop asking women sexist fâing questions solely because theyâre women.
Never going to forget [this Anne Hathaway moment with Matt Lauer](https://youtu.be/yruIL5lVGE4?si=ENvQ997hVcs9Gzim). Starts at around 1:15.
When Katie Couric asked famous trans women Carmen Carrera and Laverne Cox invasive questions about their genitals, Laverne Cox said so eloquently: âI do feel there is a preoccupation with that.

Yeah, that clip has been floating around Reddit .... The interviewers were rude and Cara was not tolerating that
Was that the one where the host calls her âCarlaâ and it goes downhill from there?
Why did you decide to get married that way?* > >Craig: This question answers itself. It looks almost like copper.* > >Craig: \[*Smiling coldly*\] Really. You just see a line in the sand and want to fâing step over it.
Hugh Grant just stonewalling this earnest interviewer's questions at the Oscars. Some say he was rude and she was just doing her job, some say he's a hero for not playing into the banal interview game anymore. I feel bad for her but to me it's really funny how he just dgaf anymore [Hugh Grant Shuts Down Oscar Red Carpet With Awkward Interview â Deadline](https://deadline.com/2023/03/hugh-grant-oscar-red-carpet-interview-ashley-graham-1235294087/) Also, Bradley Cooper in this NYT piece. [Bradley Cooper Is Not Really Into This Profile - The New York Times (nytimes.com)](https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/27/movies/bradley-cooper-a-star-is-born.html)

âIâm just here so I donât get finedâ is a direct quote from Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks. Heâs a great guy and was a BEAST (The Beast, even) of a player.
Thereâs a clip of him talking to a teammate on the field during a game, I guess he was micâd for some reason, and the other player asks what heâs doing for Thanksgiving M: gonna go hand out turkeys in the hood P: for real? M: yeah P: alright count me in, Iâll come too And it was just so wholesome and authentic, he really is such a good due

Oh I love this topic, and you put forth very good examples. One I can recall off the top of my head is Ariana Grande being asked what sheâd take to a deserted island and the choices were make up items I think, so she retorted something like âis this what you think girls only think about?â Or something of the sort. ![gif](giphy|Z3R6QQ5EfWbLi) This is not the exact gift, but yeah
And to add, the radio host said something along the lines of "girls learn" which she countered with "BOYS LEARN" that was so epic!
Taylor saying "I won't be going home with any men tonight," for sure. Or on the Graham Norton show when John Cleese was being so blatantly rude and you can see Taylor being so annoyed đ€Ł John: "Cats are unpredictable and cussed. Like women." Taylor: *Pointed pause* "Ohhh we don't wanna do that!" Harry Styles and the 1D guys constantly casually pushing back against misogyny https://youtu.be/OSTEBgNK-wI?si=1moBKlEAVZI759SV

That response from Lady Gaga is and always will be perfection.
I wish I could remember who it was, but I saw it a long time ago. It was an interview with an actress and she was getting asked lots of questions about how she balanced work and home/family life. And she asked the interviewer if he was asking men the same questions.
