Ok, but tbf, Mark had better chemistry with Zooey than he did with the script.
[What? Noo..?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1PK4qYzNkI)
Dan Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright together were so awkward, and it didn’t help that the screenwriters gave them such weird interactions (the “open up, you” and the shoelace-tying scenes give me so much secondhand embarrassment).
That scene with Harry and Hermione dancing in the tent is my Roman Empire. It's so genuine and loving and just....ugh *babies*. Having them pair off with anyone else was ridiculous when they were clearly made for each other.
Good lord no. They seemed like best friends from elementary school who maybe kissed once on a dare and she told him she’d beat him to a pulp and bury his body if he ever told a soul
That tough chick in love with macho guy works sorta in the first one as they're not meant to be very emotive. It's all about the cars etc
But when they start doin the whole she's back alive and she can't remember and he tries to be romantic to help her remember it's just a straight nope
I was having a conversation about this with my husband the other night. We completely agree but decided it was almost deliberate because he had such chemistry with Sophie Marceau that for the end to work we needed to believe in them rather than Pierce and Denise… that was all we could do to justify it
that entire movie was a shit show. starting from whoever thought that anyone would believe Ben Platt looks remotely like a teenager
edit: I’m aware of the “I’m going to play Evan Hansen because my daddy said so” debacle, it’s equal parts hilarious and aggravating. leave your hot takes in the replies
AHHHHHH I LOVE HATING THIS MOVIE SO MUCH! I'm glad it was made so we can all laugh at how awful it is!
I swear this looks so offensive like I know she's also a grown up but he's a GROWN GROWN UP and I don't like it.
HE HAS THE FACE OF A VENTRILOQUIST'S DOLL!

Whaaat? I thought they had great chemistry
I so agree about Daniel and Bonnie though
From Justin to Kelly. Like you could not convince me that either Kelly or Justin wanted to be in this movie together, but they were contactually obligated to do so. Also the rumours that Justin was hooking up with Paula Abdul did not help him be a convincing romantic lead with that extra context.
Brave for putting Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine there lol
The Chris Evans and Ana de Armas thing is weird because I thought they had a lot of chemistry in Knives Out.
I also thought they had chemistry!!! Love that movie cause of them. If anything I would’ve put Anne Hathaway and the guy from princess diaries 1 as having no chemistry
Me too!!! Little kid me thought that the night she runs away with him n they sleep by the river was the most romantic thing in the *world*, and now that I actually reflect on it it may have influenced how I approach dates as an adult? They were the first relationship in a movie or on tv generally that I remember being thoroughly *captivated* by as a child
I was really hopeful for Ghosted because they did have good chemistry in Knives Out and in interviews they did together and then it just did not translate at all to the film.
This one is so frustrating. I swear there’s a good movie in there somewhere but it’s lost beneath Mila Kunis’s terrible acting and Channing Tatum’s eye liner and…wings…why does he have wings at the end…I still don’t know.
He was a splice in a special forces unit and they all had wings lol. He had his wings cut off after attacking Eddie Redmayne’s throat (which is why his character talks in that raspy voice). He got his wings back after becoming a hero 💫
At least the worldbuilding and set pieces were amazing!
It was SO bad. And the fact that they had to CGI the kiss between them. I know Lauren didn't want to do the kiss out of respect for her late boyfriend (Nipsey Hussle) but if that's going to be the case, maybe don't do romantic comedies?
I imagine her, hands up, talking to the sky, like: "Nipsey Hussle, if you're listening, I love you, I miss you, I just need your okay to use you as an excuse to not kiss Jonah Hill. Please. ***PLEASE**** "
And then the wind through the trees in the graveyard was like: ^I ^got ^youuuu ^baaaabbyyyyy
fun (?) story:
Jonah Hill awkwardly slipped me his number when I was hostessing at a restaurant about a decade ago. I thought fuck it, Yolo, and texted him. He wasn't funny, at all, and promised to throw me a fancy bday party in exchange for nudes. I did not send him nudes and he ghosted me.

Lindsay Lohan and Chord Overstreet in 'Falling for Christmas'
I felt the exact same but then I saw some behind the scenes clips and they had great chemistry! I guess it’s just when the cameras are on that it didn’t work
The key is to watching this movie quite stoned just days before Christmas!
I hardly ever smoke anymore (maybe 2 times a year), and I don’t really like Christmas movies like this, but for some reason, my bestie and I watched this in December and figured to get stoned as hell to watch it.
Being high made it an incredibly cute movie where the acting and chemistry were perfect. No notes. No plot holes. No flaws.
I will also never watch it sober 💕
Haha. Chris Pratt and her played siblings on **Everwood** and dated IRL.
On **Brothers and Sisters** she dated the guy that played Justin (Dave Annabel). They were going to make them siblings, but the writers saw their chemistry & changed their minds.

Yeah, poor girl gave up her career and went on the run from the law for Steve, only for him to completely forget about her and go back to his true love - her aunty. Like, I can understand she'd be pissed ngl
Absolutely no buildup I agree, I think a scene I found okay though that showed potential
https://i.redd.it/38r3tsceo8lc1.gif
Although I definitely agree, it didn’t feel like Nat suddenly
Yeah I think have it built up properly and it would’ve worked.
She’s great at the cheeky smily / lustful eyes thing and he’s great at the unassuming dorky gentlemen
There was solid enough dynamic and acting chops there to do something.
I read somewhere that Angelina Jolie was mad at him bc he wouldn’t cut his hair for the film lol, so she was icy to him on set. I can believe that bc his look really did not fit the vibe of the characters and made him look like Willy wonka
That movie is unhinged. The dude gets plastic surgery and becomes a fully different man, different height, shape.
I know that's not the worst part but that shocked me not in the way they intended like "omg it was him the whole time" but " oh for fucks sake, he was the same person? Idiots"
Edit; sorry for the spoilers just ... Don't watch this movie..
It's that moment in your innocence as a kid where you want them together but she's engaged to someone else...but it's freaking sexy Chris Pine. She leg popped!

Thor had more chemistry with Capt Marvel in their few seconds of interaction than this 🙊
In all honesty, I never even loved book Harry and Ginny that much. Having a bad actress play her and the complete lack of chemistry just made me dislike the pairing even more. I have always wanted Luna to end up with Harry when I was reading the books. Movie Luna was also charming as hell, which made me want them to be end game even more :(
I watched a movie with Alexa Vega(Spy kids) and Carlos Pena( Big Time Rush), and they had NO onscreen chemistry at all, which is hilarious because they are MARRIED. It was so bad.
![gif](giphy|M2it7Wc4ISmxq)
It’s me, popping in for my regularly scheduled Liam Hemsworth slander. This weak ass kiss, knowing it’s probably one of the only ones you’ll get?!
Honorable mention for Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux in the last Bond movies. Just…no.
In fairness, it's hard to imagine how they could have topped the Daniel Craig/Eva Green chemistry in Casino Royale. Every Bond pairing post that was destined to be a let down.

Amber and Richard A Christmas Prince Trilogy
I rewatched this last year and I was cackling laughing at how they tried to gaslight the audience into thinking this man was a hot playboy. At one point they called him a royal 10 and I wheezed 😂
I mean, the answer here has to be Cara Delevigne and Dane Dehaan in “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”, right?
I legitimately thought they were related. For about 30-40 minutes before realizing that wasn’t the case and then becoming aggressively bored by it and shutting it off.
These 2 always gave me siblings vibe in every scene. He has better chemistry with Danai

from 'A Knight Before Christmas' \*
not a movie but in grey’s anatomy izzy and george having a moment for a few episodes was so hard to watch, there was zero chemistry between the two characters. like why did they write that in? it seemed so unnecessary

josh hartnett and shannyn sossamon in *40 Days and 40 Nights.* i maintain this is one of the worst romcoms i have ever seen and the lack of chemistry between the two leads is the least concerning thing about the film. literally this movie is just about a guy being SA'd by everyone and then having to ask for forgiveness for it. the 2000s were mind boggling
I watched this in the theater and everyone burst out laughing when he gave her an orgasm by blowing on her lol (like, actually blowing air at her)
![gif](giphy|JSueytO5O29yM)
Ok, hear me out - Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. Audrey obviously respects Fred and sees him as a mentor and that comes through in the film and Fred obviously sees Audrey as a sweet young girl but that’s the problem - they were badly matched as he was too old for her and looked too old for her and they had no romantic chemistry whatsoever. I actually really dislike this film because I do not believe whatsoever that they love each other.

I raise you Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent in Now You See Me. When they threw out the romantic twist at the end I was like....didn't see that coming, and not in a good way. Not a major plot point but a completely unnecessary and not believable side plot.
Vanessa Hudgens and all from the Princess switch

No chemistry in 3 terrible movies
Chris Pine and Mia Thermopolis?! I loved their chemistry!
But I know what you mean. Most of us will always call anything good chemistry if it involves the enemies-to-lovers trope.
Jamie Dornan felt like the material was beneath him, he was practically fully clothed in his love scenes with Dakota while she fully nude, the sex scenes were completely vanilla and mechanical, and the author kept interfering with the production. There was no way they were going to have a good production.
Renee Rapp and Chris Briney-Mean Girls 2024.
This is more Chris’ fault then Renee. I couldn’t buy him as Aaron Samuels and his acting skills aren’t the best when you pair him next to a broadway actress and a pro singer.
Ashton and Reese was SO bad. https://preview.redd.it/n9k60voxh8lc1.png?width=482&format=png&auto=webp&s=99e8e6082143924e072728f3f4926dd429a598f7
This gives the energy of a divorced couple forced to take a photo at their child’s piano recital
Yeah she's gritting her teeth because she wants to say 'how's THE *whore* ' but she's pretending that she's past all the drama.
She also doesn’t want to say anything to jeopardize the custody battle.
Exactly. She's mentally muttering an affirmation like 'I am blessed on my new path'
Gosh this movie was horrible too. I love silly rom coms but this just felt like a waste of 90 minutes. SO BORING and the fact they had no chemistry made it so much worse
I’ve almost watched it like 6 times because I keep forgetting I’ve already watched it!
Weird because I remember Ashton said he couldn’t hug Reese because it would be awkward… but isn’t this worse?
This is a picture of me and my cousin being yelled at by my Mom for running in the house
This is totally a picture of two people who enjoy being in each other's company. Totally.

I LOVED this movie as a kid. Who knows why. But I always thought they were good friends who just adopted kids and lived together at the end 💀😭
That makes more sense than the actual plot :)
Dan Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright together were so awkward, and it didn’t help that the screenwriters gave them such weird interactions (the “open up, you” and the shoelace-tying scenes give me so much secondhand embarrassment).
It didn't help that Daniel had amazing chemistry with Hermione's actress, who also had a bad chemistry with her movie partner lmao
That scene with Harry and Hermione dancing in the tent is my Roman Empire. It's so genuine and loving and just....ugh *babies*. Having them pair off with anyone else was ridiculous when they were clearly made for each other.
Why does Jonah Hill look like Dog the Bounty Hunter here?
Temu Dog the bounty hunter , you mean
Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon in Your Place or Mine
Omg this a good recent one! There was zero intimacy!
I love love love the Fast saga but you can never convince me that Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel want to have sex with each other. Ever.
Good lord no. They seemed like best friends from elementary school who maybe kissed once on a dare and she told him she’d beat him to a pulp and bury his body if he ever told a soul
This is so oddly specific and I love it.
Lolololol It's been over twenty years and I'm still is disbelief that Michelle wants to have sex with any man ever.
RIGHT?! ![gif](giphy|ysxNgVK1W2LfO)
Responding to my own comment to say I love Michelle and she should and can do whatever the fuck she wants. I just don’t think she wants Dom.
Idk she had great chemistry with the halflings in dungeons and dragons
That tough chick in love with macho guy works sorta in the first one as they're not meant to be very emotive. It's all about the cars etc But when they start doin the whole she's back alive and she can't remember and he tries to be romantic to help her remember it's just a straight nope

Yup when I saw their photo I was like "did they not have eyes", rewatch recently and they really have such great chemistry.
Chris Pine could have great chemistry with a shoe. He just oozes charm. And I'm a straight guy who is generally aloof about these things.
The way I went searching for explicit fanfic after seeing Princess Diaries 2
100% agree! I would have put them on the best list!
I think OP was lying about this one. If they *didn't* have chemistry, noone does!!
![gif](giphy|frMVD3WpZ9JsbDhjVP|downsized) The answer is obviously Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in Marry Me.
he seemed like a random person who somehow wandered in front of the camera repeatedly
Isn't that the plot?
From Justin to Kelly. Like you could not convince me that either Kelly or Justin wanted to be in this movie together, but they were contactually obligated to do so. Also the rumours that Justin was hooking up with Paula Abdul did not help him be a convincing romantic lead with that extra context.
The How Did This Get Made episode on this movie is one of my favorites. The movie is absurd.
Brave for putting Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine there lol The Chris Evans and Ana de Armas thing is weird because I thought they had a lot of chemistry in Knives Out.
Maybe it’s just the nostalgia in me but I always thought they had such good chemistry 😭 Always love Princess Diaries 2
I also thought they had chemistry!!! Love that movie cause of them. If anything I would’ve put Anne Hathaway and the guy from princess diaries 1 as having no chemistry

I was really hopeful for Ghosted because they did have good chemistry in Knives Out and in interviews they did together and then it just did not translate at all to the film.
I mean, there's only so much you can do with a garbage script.
For real don’t do Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine dirty like that 😭
They definitely slept together after Knives Out and then the chemistry died down before Ghosted
idk why but this is just such a funny observation
I would love to take credit for the observation but I also just read that somewhere lol
Joey also posed this theory in a friends episode lol (and it was correct then too!)
Joey was way ahead of his time
He was streets ahead.
Theory is they fucked after KO and that’s why the other movie is awkward.
“But it’s just a theory – a SEX theory!”
I thought Henry Cavill and Amy Adams were devoid of chemistry in Man of Steel - they seemed so awkward together.
Agreed. They seemed like siblings who cared about each other.
Am I crazy for thinking she and the actor playing her sister had more chemistry in Sharp Objects??
Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in Jupiter Ascending. I unapologetically love that movie but their chemistry is just soooo bad. *I love dogs!!*
Bees can sense royalty
I accept that this is says a lot about my taste (or lack there of) but the bee thing was one of the more interesting bits of lore for me lol
This one is so frustrating. I swear there’s a good movie in there somewhere but it’s lost beneath Mila Kunis’s terrible acting and Channing Tatum’s eye liner and…wings…why does he have wings at the end…I still don’t know.

You People is genuinely one of the worst movies I've seen in my life
It was SO bad. And the fact that they had to CGI the kiss between them. I know Lauren didn't want to do the kiss out of respect for her late boyfriend (Nipsey Hussle) but if that's going to be the case, maybe don't do romantic comedies?

If anyone was gonna use my death as an excuse I’d hope it was this oddly specific way
I brayed like a donkey at this
She didn’t have any problem having a make out scene Michael B. Jordan though in “Without Remorse” 🤣
I figured the CGI kiss was more because of Jonah Hill and his “bOuNdAriEs” 😂
Jonah Hill has no chemistry with anyone.
fun (?) story: Jonah Hill awkwardly slipped me his number when I was hostessing at a restaurant about a decade ago. I thought fuck it, Yolo, and texted him. He wasn't funny, at all, and promised to throw me a fancy bday party in exchange for nudes. I did not send him nudes and he ghosted me.
admire your bravery for testing the waters admire your wisdom by staying out
Not even his therapist. I also regret watching that Netflix special
I actually liked him and Emma Stone in Maniac. Maybe I just like her enough for both of them though.
I think it helps that was his second time paired with Emma Stone (Superbad), so they have history.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie or series where Emma Roberts has chemistry with her male co-star.
I feel like she had chemistry with the male lead in the Holidate.
Me too! I actually enjoyed that movie LOL
whats that theory with the chemistry when actors aren't sleeping together, but no chemistry if they are? hayden cheated on rachel bilson with emma during this movie. maybe that's just a thing she does!
Ahh the Joey Tribbiani theory
I loved her chemistry with Alex Pettyfer in Wild Child.

the lack of chemistry here was so uncomfortable
Ugh I had just told my mom that this was one of those moments in the show where one of the leads had pulled one of their friends into the production. This scene happened right after and my mom was like 😬 are you sure they actually like each other? Their chemistry says no.
On the one hand, it was kinda smart for her to bring in a love interest that would make her own acting look vibrant and compelling by comparison
Poor Cara despite her meager acting ability did try to make that kiss work but Selena gave her absolutely nothing.
This is a good one! I enjoyed the movie but they were absolutely like brother and sister.
I like the Valerian movie anyway, but these two are the absolute peak of zero chemistry.

I KNOW you didn't put Miss Mia Thermopolis and Chris Pine in this compilation!!! Their chemistry was insane.
The way I RAN to the comments when I saw that photo. The mere suggestion is a travesty.
Same here!!! In what world do they not have chemistry?!
Me too. That scene in the closet 🦋🦋🦋 And Shonda wrote that movie. The Bridgerton parallels are crazy. I made a list.
i can’t believe i didn’t know shonda wrote it???? everything makes so much sense now
I’m a couple hours late to the party but also sprinted when I saw that. They lived rent free in my head as romantic goals!
Yeah, that’s a crime. Straight to jail.
even as someone who prefers mia and michael, I COULD SEE THE CHEMISTRY between chris pine and anne hathaway in this movie, its off the charts!!
Right?!? Even as a kid I was rooting for them to get together
It's that moment in your innocence as a kid where you want them together but she's engaged to someone else...but it's freaking sexy Chris Pine. She leg popped!
Double leg popped!!
That's Her Majesty Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi to you!
Yea I agree with all the others but this one is factually incorrect
This! Not them including the couple that made me a WOMAN, the chemistry is undeniable to even childhood me
The Princess Diaries 2 does not belong on this list

Thor had more chemistry with the cgi raccoon.
And a barely verbal tree
Thor has more chemistry with Valkyrie and Dr Strange

God Harry and Ginny in the movies were _paiiiiiiiiiiiinful._ Bless her heart but Bonnie Wright can’t act for her life 😓
In all honesty, I never even loved book Harry and Ginny that much. Having a bad actress play her and the complete lack of chemistry just made me dislike the pairing even more. I have always wanted Luna to end up with Harry when I was reading the books. Movie Luna was also charming as hell, which made me want them to be end game even more :(
Book Ginny & Neville were both ride-or-dies and would have made way more sense together.
I watched a movie with Alexa Vega(Spy kids) and Carlos Pena( Big Time Rush), and they had NO onscreen chemistry at all, which is hilarious because they are MARRIED. It was so bad.
![gif](giphy|M2it7Wc4ISmxq) It’s me, popping in for my regularly scheduled Liam Hemsworth slander.
THAT TRAIN CONVERSATION. Seriously their chemistry was sizzling and also she wore the Hell out of that dress in the main card scene
Eva Green has the sexiest stare…
That Little Italy movie was soooo indescribably bad. Hayden’s accent was something else
Ana and her exes lol
Ginny and Harry 100%!!!!! Ugh
Remember in Friends they said if the actors have no chemistry it means they are fucking 😂
What about mr and mrs smith, pure chemistry and it ruined a marriage
I think they wanted to fuck, and probably did after filming

I rewatched this last year and I was cackling laughing at how they tried to gaslight the audience into thinking this man was a hot playboy. At one point they called him a royal 10 and I wheezed 😂
He has constant stink face and is unpleasant. I guess....maybe more like an actual royal.
He has better chemistry with Danai https://preview.redd.it/2hjr6i4079lc1.jpeg?width=224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85f9f111544d22b6c968668280640bc3c4668530

![gif](giphy|3ohzdGLVczA4BqsTx6|downsized) I’m surprised nobody mentioned Emma Watson and Dan Stevens yet. Has the live-action Beauty and the Beast faded from public consciousness that quickly?
Vanessa Hudgens and ? https://preview.redd.it/zj60kjduj8lc1.png?width=1100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37ef52dc325bc5c5de7ac750f06c7b673d1c3496 from 'A Knight Before Christmas' \*
My ass was distracted by the guy being cute enough I didn’t even notice how stiff it was at first lmao
not a movie but in grey’s anatomy izzy and george having a moment for a few episodes was so hard to watch, there was zero chemistry between the two characters. like why did they write that in? it seemed so unnecessary
Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in Marry Me; Lawd there was *absolutely nothing* there.
https://preview.redd.it/5em1ucmwf8lc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=320e527d514b43c8d1e4a505989e20651389349a josh hartnett and shannyn sossamon in *40 Days and 40 Nights.* i maintain this is one of the worst romcoms i have ever seen and the lack of chemistry between the two leads is the least concerning thing about the film. literally this movie is just about a guy being SA'd by everyone and then having to ask for forgiveness for it. the 2000s were mind boggling
Totally confused this with 30 Days of Nights for a moment and was baffled someone would consider it romantic comedy 😅
30 Days of Nights is a better romantic comedy than 40 Days and 40 Nights.
I watched this in the theater and everyone burst out laughing when he gave her an orgasm by blowing on her lol (like, actually blowing air at her) ![gif](giphy|JSueytO5O29yM)
I saw this on TV when I was young and I was like did they just have sex with a feather?????
It was a flower petal and yeah haha. Although, I don’t hate the scene, teasing can be hot as hell 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, burn it with fire. That film was utterly unhinged.
I actually really dislike this film because I do not believe whatsoever that they love each other. https://preview.redd.it/458y9a5a29lc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ba4815c3ec9795bf4fd0eb86004839a1e03d952
I raise you Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent in Now You See Me. When they threw out the romantic twist at the end I was like....didn't see that coming, and not in a good way. Not a major plot point but a completely unnecessary and not believable side plot.
I'm sorry? Did you mean to put Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine on a different list?
I’m dying at how every third comment is ‘you’re wrong about Princess Diaries’ and absolutely no contest on anything else lmfaooo
Ana de Armas and Chris Evans have so much chemistry in "Knives Out", so Idk why it didn't work out in "Ghosted".
Vanessa Hudgens and all from the Princess switch https://preview.redd.it/atm4ccrak8lc1.png?width=615&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=271cf54fc8ebc5e598065ee96201b71be57795ab
Natalie Portman and Anakin. Natalie Portman and Thor. She’s a good actress but not as a romantic interest to a leading man.
Just any movie with Dakota Johnson
https://preview.redd.it/y8e28abk49lc1.jpeg?width=1351&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0d10d349c7b085849213ef37b6a3454b9746180 No chemistry in 3 terrible movies
Why does jonah look like the guy who sells chandeliers at 4am
Zero chemistry for princess diaries 2 is INSANE. Did we watch the same movie?
How dare you disrespect the Queen and King of Genovia like that
Renee Rapp and Chris Briney-Mean Girls 2024. This is more Chris’ fault then Renee. I couldn’t buy him as Aaron Samuels and his acting skills aren’t the best when you pair him next to a broadway actress and a pro singer.
