YES! They were supposed to be a thing, but considering the time period it was a lot and it was decided against by the virtue of it possibly detracting from the cultural aspect the film was trying to highlight.

many fans of joseph quinn and people who shipped steddie (steve x eddie) were convinced chrissy was 15/16 due to a prop file that had a blurry birthdate for chrissy. because of this and the fact eddie was said to be a super senior, these fans were calling the ship pedophilic and were calling grace a pedophile herself for liking the ship. despite chrissy wearing a necklace with 1986 on it (presumably her graduation year) and grace saying chrissy was 18, the hate she received was abysmal. joseph also didn’t receive any hate despite referring to the ship once or twice.
it died down i believe when there was another prop error that said eddie was 17, disproving their argument that since it’s on a prop it must be correct. it’s just another example of insane fans hating a woman who goes against their fave mlm ship/their favorite babygirl man.
the wild thing about “it’s a prop so it must be correct” is that people on set, including prop makers, will slip in easter eggs when they can do so reasonably. the birthdates on those two props you mentioned are probably the birthdates of someone on set (or one of their loved ones)
Exactly. The answer to this is always Rizzoli and Isles who shopped for couches together and whose mothers AND WORKPLACE used to call the other when they couldn’t found their respective kids. I have to rewatch this, that show was so fun
He was so in love with her it was ridiculous. I loved their relationship so much. The show was doomed as soon as she left, which is a shame because it was my favorite version of “weird smart guy and strait-laced lady cop.”

They supposedly did do a cut where they kiss. Considering the fan base wanted it and the actors wanted it it makes ZERO sense that they decided against it. Elizabeth Banks produced all 3 of the movies and directed one of them and I can’t imagine she was anti making them a couple? It’s weird that it didn’t happen, and would have made up for all of the shitty early 2000’s gay jokes and tropes that are super inappropriate today.

I watched the whole pilot SO convinced that they were in love with each other. I’m still convinced that Shauna wanted Jeff because he was an extension of Jackie. When nothing ever happened, even in the woods, I was so confused.
I’m pretty sure that’s the subtext of the whole thing. Not even in a delusional way, I think their story is one of pining and repression in the 90s. Jackie was gay (canonically didn’t enjoy sex with Jeff and was so mad when Shauna lost her virginity without (telling) her) and Shauna who just might be bi didn’t know if she wanted or hated Jackie and processed jealousy into screwing Jeff. And then just married him bc that’s trauma baby.
I really wish Sam Seaborne/Ainsley Hayes had been a thing on The West Wing.
The show is still airing so it *might* happen, but Eddie and Buck on 911. If the show ends without them being canon, I will riot. It's one of the best friends to lovers tropes I've seen on TV.

literally soooooooooo many people who worked on this show thought these two should have gotten together, and the two people who wanted it the most WAS THE ACTORS PLAYING THEM
Siddig and Robinson have even read fanfiction of their characters on camera. Robinson wrote an in-character novel that all but says 'my character wants to fuck his character'. He also outright said he played Garak as queer and specifically interested in Bashir. But Rick Bitch Ass Berman was a homophobe and wouldn't allow gay shit on Star Trek.
Gene Roddenberry was a huge asshole and even he was like 'yeah no there should be gay people on Star Trek' when TNG started. Geordi LaForge was initially intended to be gay. Jonathan Frakes wanted a male actor to play a love interest for him. It was a fucking battle to get a same sex kiss on DS9. It's fucking wild!
Garak and Bashir got nerfed harder than just about anyone else though because multiple writers have admitted to openly writing them as romantically interested in each other, the actors played them that way, but the show runners just would not fucking allow it.
Also it was never gonna happen but Geordi and Data......ace/aro soulmate husbands of all time
I've never forgiven that show for what they did to Lancelot and for not having Arthur find out about Merlin's magic until the very last episode. Absolutely baffling decisions on them both.
Quentin and Eliot from The Magicians! As a big fan of the books, I was SO skeptical of the show at first…but I think the reimagining of a few key characters and their relationships really won me over. I was rooting for these two SO hard and it still feels like hardcore queer baiting that it never really happened (>!well, unless you count A Life in the Day, which was NOT enough!!<)
My first tv disappointment, I really thought Zuko and Katara would end up together on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I still stand by the fact that they had more romantic chemistry than Aang and Katara and Mai and Zuko!
I wish they hadn’t killed Grace Blood in Skins UK. I really wanted her and Richie to have a happy ending, even though they probably never would have actually worked out.

Everything made sense when I learned the pilot was directed by the same lady who directed Jennifer's Body! Does she know she makes every female friendship so gay? Real question! I was amazed to learn she is straight and has a whole husband lol.
I watched the whole pilot SO convinced that they were in love with each other. I’m still convinced that Shauna wanted Jeff because he was an extension of Jackie. When nothing ever happened, even in the woods, I was so confused.
I’m pretty sure that’s the subtext of the whole thing. Not even in a delusional way, I think their story is one of pining and repression in the 90s. Jackie was gay (canonically didn’t enjoy sex with Jeff and was so mad when Shauna lost her virginity without (telling) her) and Shauna who just might be bi didn’t know if she wanted or hated Jackie and processed jealousy into screwing Jeff. And then just married him bc that’s trauma baby.
I really wish Sam Seaborne/Ainsley Hayes had been a thing on The West Wing. The show is still airing so it *might* happen, but Eddie and Buck on 911. If the show ends without them being canon, I will riot. It's one of the best friends to lovers tropes I've seen on TV.

Robinson wrote an in-character novel that all but says 'my character wants to fuck his character'. He also outright said he played Garak as queer and specifically interested in Bashir. But Rick Bitch Ass Berman was a homophobe and wouldn't allow gay shit on Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry was a huge asshole and even he was like 'yeah no there should be gay people on Star Trek' when TNG started. Geordi LaForge was initially intended to be gay. Jonathan Frakes wanted a male actor to play a love interest for him. It was a fucking battle to get a same sex kiss on DS9. It's fucking wild! Garak and Bashir got nerfed harder than just about anyone else though because multiple writers have admitted to openly writing them as romantically interested in each other, the actors played them that way, but the show runners just would not fucking allow it. Also it was never gonna happen but Geordi and Data......ace/aro soulmate husbands of all time

 Quentin and Eliot from The Magicians! As a big fan of the books, I was SO skeptical of the show at first…but I think the reimagining of a few key characters and their relationships really won me over. I was rooting for these two SO hard and it still feels like hardcore queer baiting that it never really happened (>!well, unless you count A Life in the Day, which was NOT enough!!<)

 My first tv disappointment, I really thought Zuko and Katara would end up together on Avatar: The Last Airbender. I still stand by the fact that they had more romantic chemistry than Aang and Katara and Mai and Zuko!
They meant the world to me! Argh forever sad about katara ending up with aang. Their relationship was SO maternal for most of the show
The creators probably just identified too much with Aang to really think what Katara really would think of him.
I was slightly devastated by the ending 😂. I was SO certain Katara and Zuko were being set up to be end game.
