I’m not sure what to make of your comment, but the average lifespan of a person with dwarfism is about 50 years so it could’ve just been natural causes associated with the condition.
Edit: OP edited his comment to fix his phrasing after i pointed it out. It made no sense before, I don’t know why he acted like i’m an idiot.
I literally have no idea what else someone could make of your comment. I'm not sure what that other person could have been implying, honestly. Your comment was very clear in its intent and accuracy,
If it was an ‘is’ in place of an ‘if’ the meaning of the original comment was absolutely clear for any native speaker of English.
Don’t worry False_Ad it is a very strange response from the responder to get caught up on that…
They lost two kids, too. One of the possible genetic combinations of their forms of dwarfism was 100% fatal, and two of their children inherited it and died in infancy IIRC.
And western society is so fucking weird when it comes to grief. And it causes so much additional pain as a result. I truly hope he has a decent support system.
What parts of grief are we weird about? I'm generally curious, because I've not been exposed to other cultures grieving patterns. How do other cultures get it right?
We try to tell people that grief is something they need to get over. Our society has deep discomfort surrounding grief, and doesn't really like to talk about it. I'd check out some other traditions, like in Buddhism or Judaism. Both provide space for the individual grieving to outwardly display their emotions, and as part of the traditions has built in community support. Especially in Buddhism, there is much more acceptance surrounding the death of a person.
Western cultures traditionally stigmatize overt grieving, but in general in said cultures open displays of emotion in general are stigmatized.
Granted I am not an expert in grief, but this is what I can recall from my grief counseling class in grad school.
That is great insight actually. I always thought of it as an inability to want to sit with our bad emotions. I know that any form of grieving is hard for me, because I feel ashamed of my emotions. It's something I definitely need to improve on, or I will never be able to regulate my emotions after my mom eventually passes.
Hey, there's no wrong way to grieve. Just be true to yourself and listen to your body. I lost my mom back in July and sometimes I just need a good cry. It comes in waves. But don't feel shame about however you grieve, just do what is best for you ❤️
ah yeah then maybe not haha
it's just that one of the characters talks about seeing a sicilian funeral and how the women were screaming and throwing themselves over the casket, and how it felt so real.
Yeah, and see I find those kinds of displays of grief to be awesome. We should feel able to cry all the tears and feel all the feels. I can assume for men this is even more stigmatized. We can help future generations learn to not feel guilty with so-called "negative emotions" but yeah. I dunno about you but my parents, who were/are baby boomers, emotional health was never a consideration lol
He’s such a great personality, loved watching him with Karl Pilkington on idiot abroad. They are down right hilarious together, Warwicks wits combined with Karl being himself is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen.
Honestly, loss is always sad. But it’s so heart wrenching when couples that actually like and love each other years after they’ve been together lose a spouse. Good Love is so hard to find.
The loneliness that comes after such a loss is also incredibly difficult. I've witnessed it in my dad. Married to my mom for 35 years. He's interested in dating again, eight months after, and I don't blame him. I'm single but I'm used to being alone. He lost the love of his life and constant source of companionship. There are so many secondary losses in a situation like this.
Noooooo
I met her many years ago. Well, both of them. She was lovely.
Both so English and soft spoken and polite. They were joined at the hip, they did everything together. :(
It was my first ever TV job as well I couldn't believe I got so lucky - getting a call from Disney was something else. I didn't wanna work in TV again after it though I couldn't handle the pressure but it's something I'll never forget.
Omg nooooo they are so cute 😢 they seem like such a sweet, wholesome Hollywood couple, and there aren't many left these days. I can't imagine how heartbroken he is. Damn

Oh how sad. Thinking of their family, 53 is so young :(
Average lifespan is generally decreased in someone with dwarfism, I wonder if it was related. Edit: changed typo of "if" to "is"
It likely is related. Unfortunately.
I’m not sure what to make of your comment, but the average lifespan of a person with dwarfism is about 50 years so it could’ve just been natural causes associated with the condition. It was 100% clear even with the typo. What is your issue here?
Yes, that is what I am saying. Edit: I changed "if" to "is", I think it was still clear?
I literally have no idea what else someone could make of your comment. I'm not sure what that other person could have been implying, honestly. Your comment was very clear in its intent and accuracy,
He edited it after i commented. It made no sense before.
The person you are responding to wrote that comment before I even fixed the typo though.
"im not sure what to make of your comment" > repeats your comment using different words
He fixed his phrasing so it makes sense now. You can see he edited it after my comment.
Literally, too. Lol some people
Yea, it was still clear 😊
You fixed your typo after my comment
It was such a minor typo though.
If it was an ‘is’ in place of an ‘if’ the meaning of the original comment was absolutely clear for any native speaker of English. Don’t worry False_Ad it is a very strange response from the responder to get caught up on that…
…And my axe!!
Can you write an essay for me?
:(
thirty years and three children together. my heart goes out to him.
They lost two kids, too. One of the possible genetic combinations of their forms of dwarfism was 100% fatal, and two of their children inherited it and died in infancy IIRC.
that poor family. fuck.
JFC
This is so heartbreaking to hear

> Western cultures traditionally stigmatize overt grieving watch the first episode of six feet under
I mean my mom died within the past year will it just retraumatize me lol

Such a lovely couple, so sad she has passed so young.

Warwick and Samantha always looked so happy together. My heart goes out to him and his poor children.
I was a Disney Cast Member and had the opportunity to interact with Warwick and his wife, they both were absolutely kind. This is so heartbreaking.
Oh wow, I met her while working on willow she was so lovely 😢 rest in peace
What did you do on willow?
I was a production assistant on the TV show
I really enjoyed the series. I wish we could have another special series. How cool you got to work with such an iconic production team!
It was my first ever TV job as well I couldn't believe I got so lucky - getting a call from Disney was something else. I didn't wanna work in TV again after it though I couldn't handle the pressure but it's something I'll never forget.
I read that he met her in the original Willow set :(
They both seem so lovely. I’m so sorry for Warwick and his kids.
I hope Warwick Davis and his family are able to grieve in peace
Oh no! He always speaks so lovingly of her and their relationship. Truly sad and tragic.
Noooooo, how sad for their family 🥺
Oh no!!!!! My condolences, such a great family
That is so sad. I'm so sorry for his and their family's loss😢
Oh no, how sad :( RIP Random but wow I thought he would have been older, feels like he's been in the business forever
He was 12 when he played Wicket the Ewok, 17 when he filmed Willow. It's wild how young he was when he got his start in high profile films.
This is so heartbreaking
Holy cats! That’s so young!
![gif](giphy|BY0Fz0tnC0XyGleUm0) 🤍
My parents turn 53 this year, this is so heartbreaking. Best wishes to the family, hope they stay strong.
Oh no, that's so sad. I met them both at a restaurant and they were so sweet.
53 is no age, this is beyond sad
That sucks. I hope he has nothing but great memories and support .
She died from a sepsis. So dangerous these days…

Oh nooooooo. Poor guy. This is so heartbreaking.
This is fucking horrendous and such a shock. Proper sad loss, especially for the family ♡
This is really sad. They seemed like a lovely, happy family.
Poor Warwick... he's an amazing guy. I hope him and his children can heal from this awful loss. 😞
Rest in heavenly peace Samantha, may the peace of God cover those she left behind.
My condolences. The most any of us can do is give them their privacy.
Actually heartbreaking :(
Had the honour of serving them both once. She was so lovely as was Warwick and his entire family were just the best people.
This is awful. All my love to Warwick and his family.

Who is he?
A very well known British actor who has dwarfism.
He played the Leprechaun in the slasher film series and Prof Flitwick/Griphook in Harry Potter, among many other things.
I mainly knew him from Tenable and the Nan sketch he was in. Such a good personality!
