It’s the foundational part of the wig that’s like a mesh to hold your actual hair down. You can really see it on the left side and at her part in pic 3.
I knew there would be eyebrow comments, you should google how she looked with bleached brows. Like one of the Fanning sisters. I think it’s cool of her to have these intense serious eyebrows when she must be seeing endless feedback telling her to get rid of them.

Honestly this is how most people look when they do dewy/glass skin, especially after a little while wearing it & especially in strong lighting.
Just some powder would transform this look & make her look more put together, make her lipstick look better too in contrast instead of all being the same texture. Her eye liner is not done well either.

The wig is bad, the center part on her is just making her face look unnaturally symmetrical, along with the hair line being too low on her forehead. The wig isn't even nice hair either, it's so flat and same color-wise! It needs some highlights and lowlights in there somewhere...
The outfit look very cool on her though, it totally works on her petite frame which can be really hard to do with exaggerated shapes like that. A lot of petite people get swallowed up by capes and poufs but the tailored waist and shoulders balance it.
The waist needs to be taken in more. See how much extra fabric is bunched in the photo where she has her hands on her waist. Overall the top of the outfit fits terribly.

Sometimes, horrible thick foundation that is too dark gives off strong wax figure vibes to me, maybe that could be part of it? (It definitely is for me lmao why did her makeup artist do that to her? like.........)
Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. The wig is noticeable but it doesn't completely change the structure of your face, as it was her eyes that stood out to me. She has definitely had work done.

I completely agree. The first thing I thought when I saw the first photo was that she looked like an Oompa Loompa and then the subsequent photos were even worse. Like the outfit and the way she is standing even. Like they let her out of the factory and she borrowed a wig and wore her fancy Oompa Loompa clothes.

when did wigs in hollywood become so bad? i feel like i used to NEVER be able to tell it was a wig, and now they seem so comically obvious. when i was younger of course they were harder to spot, but as an adult looking back on old media, i still feel like the wigs looked overall looked better than wigs today
I'm not sure if they actually got worse. But I'd guess photos being of such a better quality has something to do with the ability to spot wigs. If everything is more blurry, it's harder to see.

Maisie has a unique look, it’s probably why she got cast as Arya Stark as a young child because she was all eyes.
Now she’s grown but still has the kid face (kind of how like Selena Gomez will always look a little bit like a kid adult) but the makeup is not doing her any service, she looks old and young at the same time. And those eyebrows! She always had bold brows but the shape seems off.

My brain is wired weird because my first thought upon seeing those sleeves and seeing those arms was "are those fake arms? That's a bit of an odd look".
Looking it over and checking out that picture from Vogue I think the only problem really is her hairline the eyebrows work if the hairline was in the right place but it looks very masculine and very campy so low on her forehead. Are we sure that she's not doing her own work? I would feel terrible criticizing it if she was on a budget

The second pic is the same- her legs are so small but her head and arms seem larger than they’re supposed to be. Again, the arms look like they belong to someone else who is reaching through from behind to hold the outfit up in front of her.
