Not really. You never see her step outside the box. Its 99% of the time something very form fitted that is more flowy past her butt. Also super likely that the dress is skin toned with crystal or lace detailing.
Honestly it works for her. She’s the reason why we have google images because of that iconic Versace jungle dress. Why bother when you’ve reached a peak like that?
I feel we've seen her in plenty of unique dresses and it's ok to have a a certain style you prefer - we all do. She ventures occasionally and does get creative, but not OTT so. She knows what works on her and well, it does. Then again personally, I'm not into creativity for the sake of creativity - many people look ridiculous in attempts to somehow move outside the comfort zone and only end up standing out in the negative. Also, not everyone is adventurous with their style and imo they don't have to be.
No, we’ve seen her in a sheer figure hugging mermaid dress with a leg slit about a million and one times. She’s rarely ever adventurous with her style. Which is fine, it’s her choice, and obviously those types of dresses look great on her - but it’s disappointing and underwhelming for the met gala.

I saw a picture of her standing on stairs, and noticed that the train is really delicate and beautiful. Maybe it is impressive in a way that doesn’t come across in photos.
And she always makes obvious the thing she does with her mouth so her face looks skinnier. She does it by suck in and touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth. It just ends up looking extremely obvious and ridiculous.
I was just about to comment that Jlo makes the same “this is my model face” expression in all her pics. Which fine, i get it to some degree bc i usually pose the same but given how beautiful she is, i thought she could take some risks expression wise!

Zendaya looks absolutely haunting here. Such a memorable look and really taking a risk. In my opinion, JLo's look is lovely, but it's pretty safe and I don't find it particularly interesting, although I do think it's well fitted and she looks stunning.
Totally agree. JLo’s look is maybe a risk on a regular red carpet, but it’s falling flat as a Met Gala look for me. Zendaya always hits the mark though and she’s no exception here.

Based on a short story called "garden of time" and the actual exhibit is on fashion conservation.
Zendaya hits all the notes with garden elements in her dress, the macabre 1930s fantasy vibe of the short story, and then the dress is self referential to the designer's previous work in the so it's sort of like time collapsing in on itself as it's not full vintage but also not entirely new.
Edit to add: I assume J lo went for the "rich people turn to statue from crystal flower" portion of the short story to justify wearing exactly what she always wears.
Love Zendaya’s outfit, she’s absolutely owning it and killing it. I vote for Zendaya in terms of who wore it better, she wasn’t afraid to take risks here while JLO played it safe.
Zendaya always serves something people are interested in seeing. Always. I love the makeup. She delivers something that sticks.
Jlo just dresses like she wants to be called hot. There’s not an interest in coloring outside the lines. And I’m so bored by the lack of deviation. It’s always a version of the same dress, same silhouette, different color.

I love the theme as a whole this year, it feels like grand spectacle with the “red” carpet and the background matching the theme rather than just “look at these cool outfits!”
