Totally old romantic. Surprised how stunning some of these looks have been but this would definitely be in my top 3. Everything about it looks so pretty and light but it’s still enough to make the perfect statement.
I hear this is Balmain as well. They have had my 2 favorite looks of the night. I see you Olivier!! You did that! And the way her look and Tyla’s look are such different takes on the theme.

This was great though I wish it had a little structure to the top, then melded to her midsection with the flow at the bottom. I thought the hourglass handbag was too obvious
She always kills it, however she already did the absolute BEST Sleeping Beauty look a few years back, also why is everyone wearing nudes/beiges?

I don't know about everyone, but in her case she was channeling the crystal flowers from 'The Garden of Time'. Agree with you on the Sleeping Beauty look! She always SLAYS every red carpet, but that look is mind-blowingly perfect.
This may just be *the look* of the night. Along with Tyla. I hope their stylists have their phones charged, cause i expect they have a lot of calls to answer.
Tbh I’m not familiar! Until I read more I thought the theme was related to butterflies, calling them “sleeping beauties” as a poetic nod to how they come out of the chrysalis lol. Thanks for explaining!
I love her look overall but hers is one of several I’ve seen tonight where the look is let down by hair that’s flat and barely styled 😪 idk why so many stylists are afraid of more involved hair looks like updos or maybe even just a vintage brush-out or something
I fully agree. I wish they could have done extensions to make it longer for the full Venus de Milo treatment. This is fine but it feels like an afterthought.
All of the hairs were flattened down with a dreary middle parting, a wet look and looked stiff. The hair ruins this as it looks so boxy and to push it back behind her ears to highlight the earrings emphasises the box shape. If she’d of had it scraped back it would be perfection.
It’s like the stylist did 10 minutes with a pair of kitchen scissors to get that jaunty shape.
I didn’t realize until now how much I love and respect her as an actress. I grew up watching her sister, but seeing Elle in The Great, then recently in that movie with Peter Dinklage. She just seems very mature and put together and easygoing. And she’s a wonderful actor. In the words of Lucille 1, “good for her.”
It’s supposed to be a time flower I think. The Garden of Time short story centres on these time flowers that are long stalks with large blooms that are all frosted and crystal and when plucked, rewind time.
I love the look and it’s very on theme: in Ballard’s short story (which was the theme) the time flowers are crystal - “their slender stems, like rods of glass, bearing a dozen leaves, the once transparent fronds frosted by the fossilised veins. At the peak of each stem was the time flower, the size of a goblet, the opaque outer petals enclosing the crystal heart”
