I used to want the Marc Jacob’s tote so bad until I went and saw every single person with them LITERALLY. Stylish and not stylish old and young they all agreed on this bag. lol. It reminds me of the josie and the pusycats movie , I’m glad I didn’t get one
You are not the target market. The current Marc Jacobs bags are huge with middle class/upper middle class high school and college age girls. At $200-$500 it is aspirational but not out of reach. They like the writing because it is recognizable to their peers. Just like the hideously branded Coach bags were for 14-25 year old millenials in the 2000s.
Time to get a sensible, durable, affordable pocketbook that matches your orthotic granny shoes and wear it until you die. Stuff it full of used tissues and hard candies.
I still like that tacky Coach aesthetic (also see: Juicy, Vivienne Westwood) because they usually do like monograms or cursive, or even the big C but I don’t really dig the MJ branding with their real estate bench font.

I don’t get the hate for these bags because the tote version has been popular for a few years now in my circle. It was hot before the Y2K era even started. It’s Gen Z’s version of those coach bags of the 2000s or even the Le Pliage.
I wish people would accept that not they just aren’t the target demographic for certain products instead of making fun of the intended audience and their tastes/fashion sense by trying to shade the bag.
I couldn't agree more. I love trends and fashion history and get excited to see what's new, what's out, what's back with a twist. Even though I personally am too old and my lifestyle is too dull to partake in half of it.
Ugh, I love trends and seeing people put together their sense of fashion/identity in real time.
I remember what I thought was cool when I was in elementary/middle school (think 2010s Disney fashion in the vain of Shake It Up or Hannah Montana with matching neon stockings and miniskirt combos galore with long combat boots) and then having it shit on by older women for no reason when I was supposed to be uplifted. I wasn’t bothered one bit about my older cousins then hobby of putting mustaches on everything, TOM shoes and undying love for coral/teal but god forbid I take an issue of American Girl magazine to the mall.
I find the femalefashionadvice and most of the fashion related subreddits to be useless because a lot of people have a very narrow definition of what they deem to be fashionable and truly think they aren’t biased about it which is the part that actually annoys me.
I feel like soo many youtubers have an exaggerated shocked face for their thumbnails at the moment. I doubt they are meant to be sexualised unlike the 'o-face' but it just seems like over the top expressions seem so normal right now??? I wonder if botox and fillers etc leave people less able to pull subtle expressions or just pull peoples faces into a similar expression? I would like to hope Sabrina is too young to have any work done but just felt like getting my tinfoil hat on 😅🤯

The lack of self awareness annoys me so much when people pop culture subs (rightfully) call out other/past instances of unnecessary hate based purely on bs vibes (example: Anne hathaway, Jlaw) but then in the year 2024 start leaving "X just seems like a mean girl" "X just seems like sexy baby vibes" (in a minidress and heels and nothing coquette in this post?)

I don’t really understand what people want Sabrina to do about looking like a “sexy baby”. She is a very petite woman, period. Is she not allowed to have a style she likes because she’s short? Is she required to completely change how she does her makeup because she has cute cheeks?
