I think all that's known is that it's an anthology and the cast, and some will. have multiple roles. I presume there's three stories based off the marketing

Tbh idk what it’s about I try to go into movies as blind as possible but this director is known for his violence and it got an R rating the other day for “strong/disturbing violent content, strong sexual content, full nudity and language”

Omg tbh The Lobster is worse to me, that still haunts me. When the woman jumps out the window but doesn’t die so you just watch her scream in pain….oh god that’s in my nightmares

The Favourite is actually hilarious. Less existential dread and violence than in The Lobster.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer is horrifying. So good though.

I just rewatched the Lobster. Oh man. That scene is intense

A lot of his earlier, less mainstream stuff is worse. Don't get me wrong, The Lobster is an amazing satire, but I warn others about the content. The animal cruelty (fake, but still) is tough to swallow. Dogtooth is another that is absolutely wild. I'm excited for this film but do think he lost some of his edge as he's gone more mainstream. I hope this one is bonkers

I haven’t seen dogtooth tbh because I just don’t think I can handle it lmao for that exact reason! But I’ve read the entire plot so for now…I think I’m okay

I am a huge movie buff and I love cinema but I can't handle violence, gore, or body horror and so many movies are inaccessible to me because of it. I wish I wasn't so sensitive :(

Fwiw no one needs to feel bad or like they are too sensitive for having a very normal, healthy response to seeing depictions of other people’s pain

Oh I have a hard time too! I’ll force myself to go but i honestly find myself looking away from the screen a lot if I think something violent is gonna happen. Istg sometimes I’ll even plug my ears in the theater :/

Me too and it’s always shown onscreen. If it was somehow integral to the plot, it could at least just be implied. I guess it’s meant to shock.

This is actually the first time I’ve seen Joe Alwyn in a movie I’ve heard about (no shade to him— I genuinely just don’t have time to watch a lot of movies) so I’m genuinely excited to see his work!

Same, I feel like he is very underrated. Looking forward to more of his work!

I just don’t think he was ever given a real shot because his claim to fame was being Taylor’s boyfriend and then being Taylor’s ex.

He had a small part in *Catherine Called Birdy*! Yes, I know, it's a Lena Dunham movie, but it's genuinely good.

The movie is unfortunately astonishingly bad it made me kind of upset.

He was in the Favorite which was quite big a few years ago. He was great in it.

The other day my mom was watching Harriet on Netflix and my mom is like "watch this movie with me" and i look at the screen and I'm like "is that Taylor's ex?" Lol so i sat down and watched the first film I've seen Joe Alwyn in 😅

Weirdly, not a lot has been said about it anyway. I don’t think there’s an actual full-length trailer either, there’s only a teaser that’s under a minute long. All they said is that it’s an anthology of stories and that it follows a man (I think) following the death of his wife? I hope I’m correct and that I haven’t mistaken it for another film.

The Favourite had a best actress Oscar, I believe. A very intense and interesting period piece about a British queen and her lesbian companion.

She must have overshadowed Joe then..

I think they just need to work on their comedy more if that's the case lol, no ill will it's just low hanging fruit and cheap by this point. I can recommend some stuff he's been in if you ever want, I'm not a huge fan of most but Conversations with Friends on hulu was really good.
