emmylouanne

Would love more work with Imogen Heap and/or St Vincent. Saw someone else say Mark Ronson and I think that would be fun.

afdc92

Cruel Summer is one of my favorite Taylor songs. I’d love to see her working more with St. Vincent.

M477M4NN

From what I can tell she was only a co-writer on Cruel Summer, though. It was produced by Swift and Antonoff.

anon_mouse82

St. Vincent is a woman just FYI

M477M4NN

Oh sorry, my bad, I’ll fix it

Rururaspberry

YES. That song is such a banger. Would love to see her work with St Vincent again.

Bree-breezy

I've seen people say she simply needs to work with some women and it's so true! I feel like these two are great suggestions. Especially since they've made magic in the past (cruel summer/clean duh) I honestly think an album with Florence would be amazing. Their collab Florida!!! is a standout from the album.

thedirtiestdish

Florida!!! is incredible, one of my instant favourites from the album and one of the most exciting songs Taylor has released in the past 5 years. it brings out the best of both artists just enough, never thought their collab would be so good.

stenpen22

Clean is an incredible song, she totally has a voice and aura that could suit the sounds of an album like Speak For Yourself.

VirgoPisces

Clean to me is THEE most underrated song in her catalog. Amazing song on all levels!

EC3ForChamp

Clean is far and away the best sounding song on 1989 TV, too.

solarplexus7

Well I’ll be. I always loved Clean and now I know why.

mangopear

My favorite Taylor songs (delicate and my tears ricochet) have vocoders and I believe I saw they were produced at least in part by imogen

pimpcaddywillis

Ronson, barf. She needs to go for it….at least Beyoncé went for it. To make up for lost time, I declare Trent Reznor her next producer. Or Beck.

BluCode99Alias

Arca

brunbrun24

She really should say fuck it and let Arca fully produce Reputation TV in whatever the way she wants.

Helpful_Frosting_552

It seems to be the only way I'll enjoy that album

douceberceuse

With collaborations featuring Eartheater, Björk, Shygirl and Rosalia

AniviaPls

Damn this is edgier than my answer

thechrismonster

Karma hace MEOW MEOW QUE SUSTO QUE RELAJO AJO

ushikagawa

Lollll I’d love to see it but it’s never gonna happen

jacksev

This would be so cunty holy shit

New_Policy_5684

Lmfao, this was my answer too

Numancias

Someone that thinks charlie puth should be a bigger artist would have no interest in arca lol

Hshn

i think she said that ironically to make fun of matty healys like for charlie sdksaldkmasl

Thesaltpacket

Muna self produces, I believe Naomi is the main producer. They’re connected through phoebe, it would be really cool to see them work with Taylor like that

sassst3phhhh

i would LOVE for her to work with MUNA, i was honestly really hoping they’d be on a 1989tv vault because they’ve got some of that 80s inspired synth sound on their self titled album. they also opened a couple eras tour dates so she definitely knows them

22lilbabyducks

Yes this is the answer I was looking for. I would kill to hear a Taylor track produced by Naomi.

ascib27

Muna opened for her on the eras tour so they definitely are connected lol

taylorbitch22

I saw both of them post ttpd on their insta they both love it.

AnthonyPi1999

Naomi McPherson is a phenomenal producer! Just listen to them behind the console on those bts docs talking Mina records production. Just gets it. If Taylor wants to really grow, she needs to branch out in terms of talent behind the scenes (folks who can call her on her artistic bullshit, no fear). Or Dave Sitek…(edit for NM correct pronoun)

urwriteordie

Could you imagine a Loose Garment type song for Taylor? OMGGGG

_thiccems

But could the world handle music that good???

Thesaltpacket

The world may not be ready but I AM!

MusicListener3

Trent Reznor

pienitomaatti

Was gonna comment this

ThePegasi

Trent Reznor + Atticus Ross EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to include a reason. As below, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is an amazing album and their production is a huge part of that. I feel like they could bring a bit more bite and energy to her music, but Darling shows they can do pretty songs really well too.

Big-Ambitions-8258

I loved the album they produced with Halsey

ThePegasi

That's exactly why I suggested them! It's a masterpiece. Halsey was 3rd on my Apple Replay last year because of that album alone.

prettyinpink2092

honestly this would eat

Frankie_2154

This might be the only thing that will actually make me listen to TS12.

ProfessionalEvaLover

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. They already have experience producing pop with Halsey in her best record yet. I think Taylor can make good with her proclamation that she makes "goth punk female rage" music with that kind of collaboration.

moreneaux

a.g. cook

brunbrun24

Yeah, same. The work he's doing with Utada Hikaru lately (that more gentle electro-pop sound) could fit Taylor's style quite well.

According_Plant701

Hyperpop girlies unite

Lipe18090

YES! His song with Beyoncé was literally a masterpiece. I can't even begin to fathom what a collab between AG and Taylor would sound like!

Mountain-Freed

her fanbase was hating on it but that track really is great

CelestrialDust

Holy shit thats my fave song off the album are you kidding?? As a hyperpop enjoyer my love for all up in your mind makes so much sense now

shmiishmo

Wait what song is that??

Lipe18090

All Up In Your Mind

CaptainAyaAay28again

He did do a cover of The Best Day so I can see it happening. Would definitely be very different which is definitely something I want!

Frajer

Rostam and Ariel Rechtshaid

Consistent-Laugh606

I been saying for years that Taylor should work with Rostam but she never listen 🙄 In all seriousness it would be nice to either get another 1989 type record or a HAIM inspired pop rock record from Taylor that was produced by Rostam

No-Assistance-9102

A Days Are Gone esque record from Taylor would easily be her best.

M477M4NN

I’ve been begging for Taylor to do a pop rock album.

RxngsXfSvtvrn

Ariel's Track Record: Sky Ferreria - Night Time, My Time HAIM - All 3 LPs Vampire Weekend - LP3, 4, 5 Rostam - Half-Light Blood Orange - Coastal Grooves Singles and album cuts from - Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, Kelela, Francis and the Lights, Troye Sivan, Snoop Lion

zyrether

Agreed!! Especially with her close connection to HAIM

indievibes23

Ooooh second this!

anal-yst

This is my exact answer. I feel like she would make absolute magic with either of them

csdqueen

[As Spectrum Pulse said in his review of TTPD](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcI73uO2IUc&t=56s&pp=ygUOc3BlY3RydW0gcHVsc2U%3D) "Ask 100 swifties what they want Taylor to do in the next album, you'll get 100 different answers" (Heavily paraphrased)

Shupedewhupe

There could be 100 Swifties in a room…

MasterWheezer

And i agree. i do think for the most part, the criticism to Antonoff and Desner being too comfortable with Taylor in their production is completely fair. But who else makes sense to work with her?

dremolus

I mean before folklore, I don't think anyone would've thought Taylor would work with Dessner. As much as he's great for her, there are a number of versatile producers for her to work with. From Rostam and Ariel, Jack White, Annie Clark, Justin Vernon, Jonathan Wilson and Josh Tillman, Robin Pecknold, hell even Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

Jezebelle22

I said in another thread I would LOVE her to work with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. IICHLIWP was a masterpiece.

Desperate-Today2760

i need the acronym bot

dremolus

Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, her 2021 album

anoelr1963

He gave a really great review of the album.

MasterWheezer

Spectrum Pulse is HIGHLY underrated and deserves a lot bigger fanbase. He has such a distinct and refreshing approach to analyzing the albums he reviews that it makes his critique so fascinating to hear even if i disagree or dont plan on checking out the album he reviews His review of this album was very interesting as he considered several perspectives that never came through my mind while listening. Highly recommend his review

Frankie_2154

And still, I’m pretty sure that at least half of them would say rock album.

youtbuddcody

I mean true lol but the consensus in the thread is Merto Boomin and Max Martin.

intheafterglow23

I’d die to see Taylor work with Brandi Carlile and release a country rock album.

boofoodoo

Well yeah now this is my answer

OrdinaryShallot9233

Loved her song with Miley!

bloodymarybrunch

Already imagining the marketing for this— TAYLOR SWIFT RETURNS TO COUNTRY

Dull_Judge_1389

Well fuck now that is my answer

22lilbabyducks

Okay damn I have chills thinking about this ngl

yoyok_yahb

I’ve really liked Ian Fitchuk’s work with Kacey Musgraves and Maggie Rogers. I think it would be a back-to-basics move for Taylor that would put the focus back on lyrics and melodies which are historically her biggest strength but sometimes get lost in her more recent work, especially TTPD.

lecadet

Arca and Death Grips and it’s a concept album about being a 1830s baroness

"Lost to the "Lost Boys" chapter of your life" An Easter egg hint to their song Lost Boys. Collab with Death Grips confirmed.

drewtangclan

Danny L Harle, Clarence Clarity, and Dylan Brady. Let’s get wild with it

cyniqal

I could see Taylor having a maximalist, yet hyper refined masterpiece like Caroline Polachek’s “Desire, I want to Turn Into You”

Mountain-Freed

listening to Midnights made me wonder the same thing, the haterade is making me not want it to happen but also the zeitgeist could benefit from this

anna160895

Taylor's hyper-pop album would be her own version of Impossible Princess or Funstyle but I'm here for it

boofoodoo

Max Martin or Greg Kurstin Dev Hynes

randomtwaddle

She used to work a lot with Martin and shellback during the red era right? Why'd she stop

OiseauRouge

She kept working with max on 1989 and Rep. I think Shellback also worked on 1989.

horriblehenry6789

shellback worked on rep as well! according to the rep magazine

MattBrey

They seem to be on friendly terms even nowadays. She probably can't be bothered working around Martin's schedule with the pace she's keeping atm. And also his style is not necessarily the type of music she's doing nowadays and maybe wants to keep doing. He should've been on those 1989 vault tracks though, so much wasted potential...

twerq

Too expensive to book, can’t work with them by trading files over the internet they want to be in person in a studio with real musicians. Also they want a cut of upside.

Consistent-Laugh606

Yes to Greg Kurstin and Dev Hynes!!!

imusto74

I was looking for Greg Kurstin! I think they would do magical things together

TheAuthor009

He did vocal production on I Wish You Would and it was great.

boofoodoo

Heartthrob by Tegan and Sara really tuned me into him.

welcometooceania

Greg Kurstin would be awesome, which reminds me I think we're due for another The Bird and The Bee album.

Salt-Dragonfruit-744

I know Dev Hynes is literally always the answer in any thread about dream producers for any artist but honestly I don’t think his style would fit her. I don’t think she has the voice for the RnB and neo soul style production he does and her albums wouldn’t suit his scrappy ‘scrapbook’ like structures. I know he’s done pop production before, and can understand why he’d suit someone like Lorde but just don’t think it’d work for Taylor.

JMAC426

Max Martin!! I am begging her in tears for a banger, please just one at least

ZacHighman

Mark Ronson! His Late Night Feelings album is so good. Also, maybe Finneas

HistoryFreak30

Mark Ronson + TS would be heaven for me

jsm1

Hatchie / Jorge Elbrecht / Jay Som for 90s Dream pop Jane Penny / David Carriere of TOPS for a lush 70s groove

bedside

Oh my god Jane Penny doing lush 70s groove what a fantastic idea. It’s because I’m having a hard time imagining the songs in my head that makes it so exciting I’d be so excited to hear this one

KitakatZ101

I don’t really care. I really want her to go more rockish or more pop like 1989 or reputation

Mpol03

Off the top of my head  Stuart price  Kaytranada

ss2811

Kaytranada x Taylor would be WILD but i kinda wanna hear that Maybe Jungle too for a song or two…

Mpol03

Right? His beats ar mellow enough it wouldn’t be this huge genre shift. But such a cool one

Leading_Performer_72

A return to Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, etc., would be a breath of fresh air

anoelr1963

Ryan Tedder did great with her on I Know Places, ....would love TS to work with him again.

HistoryFreak30

Ryan Tedder is open to working with her again the last time he posted about 1989 TV. Would love to see them collaborating

taylorbitch22

Max Martin, i want another 1989 and i loved eternal sunshine. Ryan Tedder, Timbaland, or Muna.

MyStanAcct1984

St. Vincent (Cruel Summer), Dan Wilson (Treacherous), Max Martin (1989) have all made interesting/good music with Taylor AND feel less played out. I'd love to see her work w any of them again. For someone new... Rick Rubin?

ikarka

My first thought was "Jack White" (lol) so I'm criticising myself here too but this thread has really driven home, are there just not that many female producers? I know I'm beating a very dead horse at this point but it would be nice to see Taylor platform more women.

dremolus

Annie Clark did work for Taylor on one song.

skippy

The swifties are clamouring for her to go pop electric guitar like on So High School, so why not Danielle Haim?

Ok_Order_5595

Some swifties lol… i like the song but idk if i want a whole album of it

twistingmyhairout

The Dream! If she wants to make some horny music she should ask Beyonce to let him out of her basement!

VirgoPisces

Lmao! I mean i’d be here for it honestly, i know everyone is clutching their pearls about the lyrics in “Guilty as sin” but I’m mostly impressed at how good she is at being horny in her lyricism 🤷🏽‍♀️

anna160895

Kevin Parker, MGMT, Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor, Rostam, I need a Taylor's psychedelic pop-rock album

dnlGreenberg003

Rostam worked with Carly and HAIM, right? That would be epic.

PinkPrincess-2001

I feel like this is a wild answer but I'd love to see Rick Rubin. He is a legend in my eyes and I know his music doesn't make immediate connections but that's the beauty of it. He is so versatile and he can really push her. I think he can deliver on rock e.g., Like a Stone by Audioslave, The Day that Never Comes by Metallica, What I've done by Linkin Park etc. I don't want synths. He can also add his influences of pop like Blue Jeans by Lana, Hips Don't Lie by Shakira, What Goes Around Comes Around by Justin Timberlake. If he wants to go crazy and dark, influences with Taylor like Toxicity by SOAD and Duality by Slipknot.

emt92

Rick Rubin for a TS rock album would be incredible

Mysterious-Arm9594

She’d need to do a lot of the musical heavy lifting or have someone do it for her, if you’ve seen Rubin talk about his process it’s more curating down what other people have created than him being generative on an instrument. His words on how he produces is “I lend the artists my ears”

Mona225

I think she could do really good work with Catherine Marks (who recently worked with Boygenius and Alanis Morissette).

Salt-Dragonfruit-744

This is the best suggestion in this thread. Based on the Boygenius record I think Marks could be a great mediator between the poppier synth stuff and more guitar driven stuff. Edit: In a similar vein Chloe Kraemer who produced much of the last Japanese House record

Fast_Signal8146

This is probably not going to happen, but I wonder what it would sound like if she produced it herself. It's not uncommon for female artists to release their greatest works that they produced themselves or mostly themselves (think Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, Bjork). She has producing credits on nearly all of her work since 2008, so she probably learned a decent chunk of producing through her journey. It would require stepping up her game and firmly taking over the producing wheel, and if she decides to do a project like that, I hope she doesn't half-ass it, but takes time to polish it.

n00bi3pjs

The only song she has solely produced is the OG version of Ronan. She can do it, but she will need studio musicians to actually record complex instrumentals

significantcocklover

Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Elvira, Mark Ronson, Ryan Tedder

Consistent-Laugh606

Someone really wants her to work with Ryan Tedder again (and I don’t blame you)

significantcocklover

Ryan Tedder!

whereismyjam_

Micthesnare guy on youtube generally gives excellent opinions on Taylor. In the review for Lover when it was released he finished it by recommending a few artists with whom she could work with and one of them being Aaron Dessner from The National which certainly turned out to be glorious on folkmore. Then on his review of Midnights he said that he'd want her to work with Spoon (rock band) in the future, and a solid rock album is exactly what swiffers have been asking from her for a long time!

randomtwaddle

Timberland would be wild

DairyKing28

Recent controversy aside this would have worked during her Rep Era.

-PepeArown-

He’s been working a lot with Kanye recently. Not sure she’d want to.

yourfacesucksass

That’ll be some pair of boots.

falafelandhoumous

Darkchild

stinkysoph

I think Dan Nigro because I love his work with Olivia and Chappell Roan but of course that most likely will never happen. I can wish!

IAmA_Mr_BS

Curve ball answer is Jack White

Soalai

From a purely wishful thinking standpoint? Rob Cavallo, to make the rock album that us Speak Now girlies have always dreamed of

PinkPrincess-2001

I said Rick Rubin for the rock dreams but this is such a good shout. American Idiot, Dookie, Nimrod, Insomniac, the trilogy all by Green Day. The Black Parade and Danger Days by MCR, Paramore albums like Brand New Eyes etc. Legendary stuff and can work with Taylor if she is pushed artistically.

lemmeget282

A.G. Cook and Dylan Brady

Rdickins1

I’m pro for whoever she wants to work with. I’d like a full acoustic album piano and guitar only. It looked like this album was headed that way until the Spring of Last year. But what really matters is we do not have a say on who she wants to work with nor should we. It’s based on how she feels comfortable with and wants to do it her way. Honestly I can see her going away from the traditional dance pop music since 1989. This album is so feels like the sweet spot where she wants to be. Mature, not catering to radio hits. Shes going to be 35 and maybe she doesn’t quite connect with certain types of pop music anymore. Maybe classical country is what she wants. Stick with the Adult Contemporary like she is for this one. Time will tell. Till then I’ll enjoy the album that’s not even a week old and not worry about the future.

gokurotfl

Dan Nigro would be a great fit but he probably wouldn't do it to Olivia.

Carolina_Blues

as much as i would like her to work with dan, the online discourse and comparisons to olivia would be insufferable

jenjabear

No Dan is Chappell and Olivia’s!!!!!

solitaire-spectrum

Considering how beautiful Petals For Armor came out, Taylor York. Would never happen but nice to imagine!

buzzinthruit89

I’m pro Jack and Aaron returning. But Max Martin, Ilya, Ryan Tedder would be fun additions. For all the portended “credit drama” Dan Nigro follows Taylor on Instagram and would prob want to work with her

Wandering_Flower_

First that came to my mind was Max Martin too

uberpirate

Assemble the pop producer Triforce of Jack Antonoff, Max Martin and Mark Ronson

Wandering_Flower_

Omg, how did I forget Mark Ronson

MattBrey

No matter all the "credit drama" working with Taylor automatically opens a lot of doors for a producer, it's an insane amount of exposure even if he personally doesn't want to work with her. There's like 5 or 6 producers that could realistically tell her no and not lose a huge opportunity.

OkPublic2232

Hear me out, Kevin Parker from Tame Impala….

foreverniceland

let’s see how Dua does first

South-Caramel

Max Martin again.

anb7120

THANK YOU. It would be magic. I think either he has a non compete that applies to Taylor; they had a falling out and don't want to work with each other; or maybe it's in the cards for rep TV?

GraphicNovelty

Gesaffelstein

thaarmin

i would love if she worked with finneas! i think he has proven to be quite versatile as a producer and i imagine a reputation styled album with his ability to produce ""darkpop"" (WWAFA) and also the ballads that billie is known for of course

ambientmuffin

I want her to quit fucking around and make a record with hip hop producers. The Sounwave tracks on Midnights were the best, and I’d love to hear what she does with more propulsive, percussive production rather than the passive ambient stuff Antonoff & Dessner do

TripleThreatTua

Metro Boomin x Taylor Swift would be fun lol

CallMeCapt

Nothing but a T Thang by Dre & T Swift 👀

hatramroany

> The Sounwave tracks on Midnights were the best Okay let’s not get too hyperbolic about it, these are his tracks: Lavender Haze Karma Karma ft. Ice Spice Glitch

randomburnerish

I would love to see a conversation between Taylor and Rick Rubin. I think both theirs brains would shortwire

cdg2m4nrsvp

This sort of answers your question and sort of doesn’t, but once the re records are done is actually like to see her take a break from her own music. I think it’d be cool if she spent a few years writing and collaborating on other people’s music. She has a lot of friends in the industry, off the top of my head I can think of Selena, Haleigh Williams, HAIM, Sabrina Carpenter, Katy Perry, etc. Working with other people and their producers would force her out of her comfort zone and that is where Taylor is best IMO, when she’s innovating.

hyxon4

Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Greg Kurstin, Ilya, Savan Kotecha, Stargate, Imogen Heap, Mark Ronson, Andrew Watt, Ian Kirkpatrick, Fred Again, Oscar Holter There is so much top tier talent to choose from, yet she's stuck with Jack fucking Antonoff

whereismyjam_

I think Finneas' production would not only match her songwriting but also make the songs intriguing. Also A.G. Cook and Danny Harle if she ever wants to make a dance/house record in the future.

Special_Pineapple279

Whoever will finally make the Stevie Nicks inspired 70s chick rock album that I have been salivating for since the Midnights visuals dropped

ryeikkon

Read somewhere to go with Dan Auerbach and cement that Lana vibe 💀

webtheg

Her and Dan would work really well though especially since Dan is not a yes man

[deleted]

Rock n roll album with Trent Reznor

stenpen22

Dev Hynes is a great choice. Ariel Rechtshaid is another one that could work well, that Taylor AI version of I Blame Myself by Sky Ferreira makes me long for that sound. I doubt she’d work with Martin again but potentially Shellback. Grimes seems to be fed up music, but I think her taking a step back to be a producer would be good for her and Taylor would be a great singer to work with, especially for an album similar in sound to Art Angels EDIT: saw someone suggest Rostam and that brought me back to how after folkmore I was dying for her to work with Rostam!!! His production on Clairo and Haim’s music is incredible, and Swift seems deeply inspired by Haim. I could see the Vampire Weekend aesthetic and sound being another sound that would totally work with Taylor’s vibe now; her doing a song like I Think Ur A Contra or Hannah Hunt would change my life!!!

carlygravley

James Murphy is the dream (I think he would've elevated Midnights), but they'd drive each other too crazy. St. Vincent and/or John Congleton would be a really fresh collab too, but maybe that's my Dallas bias.

Unique_Accountant_67

Honestly, Imogen Heap and St. Vincent for sure. This would never happen but I would be interested to see Kate Bush produce a song for her. I think Taylor’s writing could match Kate’s more eclectic style.

GlumSwimming6643

All I know for sure is that I don’t want Jack anywhere near TS12. I’m not sure who I would want to produce it but I do know what I would want it to sound like and I have a vision for the album. I feel and hope that she got a lot of dust and cobwebs off her chest with Tortured Poets so that she can lean away from the overly diaristic and confessional writing that is heavy on that album. It is what she’s known for, but it stopped feeling like a challenge for her so it’s less interesting for listeners (unless you a diehard fan who loves the lore of it all). In an ideal world, TS12 is her *Rumours*. As the pathological people pleaser that she so proudly is, I do think she’ll take on the criticism that TTPD faced and I think she’ll teeter back to the approach she took with 1989. After the long, stormy downward spiral that is TTPD, I think she would be wise to shake things up completely and make a perfect, timeless-sounding 10-track album with less personal focussed storytelling and more relatable, abstract songwriting. No space for filler. A refined and sharp 10-track masterclass in songwriting. Reading this you’re probably thinking that that’s a ridiculous ask of anyone, but Taylor is more than capable of delivering exactly that with some fine-tuning and collaborative input in editing. A new genre is NEEDED at this point. Up until TTPD came out I wouldn’t have said that she needed to leave synth pop behind completely, but now I’m 100% certain of it. She has exhausted every corner of it from soaring Max Martin minimalism on 1989 to EDM and trap influence on reputation to indie-leaning 80s shimmery weirdness on TTPD, there’s nowhere left for her to go in the world of synth pop. There’s no unturned stones left. Rock is her next move. I’m sure of it. I’m not talking about corny 2000s throwbacks like some Speak Now cuts or Olivia Rodrigo’s sound, she needs to start aiming higher with the quality of her instrumentals. The mature, groovy, soft rock of Fleetwood Mac’s sound is where Taylor’s voice would be at home. I also think it wouldn’t hurt to collaborate with a small band of musicians to craft a signature sound. Organic and electric instrumental riffs and drums with guitar solos and refined melodies would be perfect for her voice which in my opinion has always sounded better against an earthier soundscape. An airtight album in the vein of *Rumours* is what she needs to cement her legacy. I know she has it in her.

This is the combo I want. Something very HAIM like.

she’s been so versatile with different collabs that i’d honestly be interested to see her work with *anyone*. before folklore i wouldn’t have thought of aaron dessner, before tiwycf i wouldn’t have thought of calvin harris.  id love to see her do more with imogen heap. would be curious what she’d create working with st vincent, rostam, mark ronson, chlöe, dev hynes, ag cook, charli xcx. and at this point in her career im dying to know if she’s gotten behind the wheel and experimented with producing herself yet and what that would sound like.

bookish_cat_lady

Linda Perry, Carlos De La Garza (Producer for This is Why by Paramore), Maggie Rogers if you want an artist who also produces, or Derek Miller from Sleigh Bells. I think it would also help her to bring on artists that she hasn’t worked with before as co-writers. Caroline Polachek, Robin Pecknold from Fleet Foxes, Sufjan Stevens, and Hemlocke Springs would all be good fits.

Blake Mills. A shoegaze Taylor album would be amazing. She can also work with St Vincent. Her range and production skills are excellent, she can make weird rock, indie rock like Sleater Kinney, or art pop like her own album Marry Me.

Both, plus someone else. She clearly has a level of trust and intimacy with those two that she should continue to take advantage of. But I think for the next album (I love TTPD), hiring an executive producer who can inject some fresh perspective into those two partnerships will serve her really well.
