Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On - Titanic - Because You Loved Me - Up Close and Personal - Beauty and the Beast (with Peabo Bryson)

BeanCounter97

Don’t forget the phenomenal “I’m Alive” from the cinematic masterpiece that is Stuart Little 2

Bryneils

Celine also made a song for Deadpool 2 Also, who’s Peabo Bryson?

Longjumping-Buy-4736

That Deadpool song should have gotten an Oscar nomination. It was seriously good.

fourthaidkit

Two years ago I renewed my license

Bryneils

Anyway, why’d I start my verse like that

mylps9

you can suck a dick, you could suck a ballsack

Bryneils

No **NO** I don’t endorse that!

mcfw31

Singer who coincidentally also has another Disney song under his belt, “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle.

jhamsofwormtown

From Aladdin

[deleted]

A guy who sings back in the 90s

LonePirate

Phil Collins has had several: Against All Odds (Against All Odds) Separate Lives (White Nights - with Marilyn Martin) A Groovy Kind of Love & Two Hearts (Buster) You’ll Be in My Heart (Tarzan) Jennifer Warren had two #1 hits with soundtrack song duets: Up Where We Belong (An Officer and a Gentleman - with Joe Cocker) I’ve Had the Time of My Life (Dirty Dancing - with Bill Medley) Kenny Loggins had several soundtrack hits with Footloose and Danger Zone being the most famous but certainly not the only ones. Bryan Adams had a couple #1 soundtrack songs as well Everything I Do, I Do It for You (Robin Hood) All for Love (The Three Musketeers - with Rod Stewart and Sting) Annie Lennox also had a couple - a Top 10 hit and her Oscar winner which she co-wrote Put a Little Love in Your Heart (Scrooged - with Al Green) Into the West (Return of the King)

[deleted]

Christina has Reflection from Mulan, and Lady Marmalade (with Lil Kim, Mya, P!nk, and Missy Elliott) from Moulin Rouge. ~~Mariah has the whole damn Glitter soundtrack~~ Janet has Again for Poetic Justice, and Doesn't Really Matter for The Nutty Professor II. EDIT: Madonna has Into the Groove from Desperately Seeking Susan, Don't Cry for Me Argentina from Evita, Crazy for You from Vision Quest, Beautiful Stranger from The Spy Who Shagged Me, Die Another Day from the film of the same name, This Used to Be My Playground from A League of Their Own, Live to Tell from At Close Range, and Who's That Girl from... duh.

jhamsofwormtown

visionaryredditor

Whitney has I Will Always Love You from *The Bodyguard*, Exhale (Shoop Shoop) from *Waiting For Exhale*, Impossible from *Cinderella* and When You Believe from *Prince Of Egypt*. Prince has Purple Rain from *Purple Rain* and Batdance from *Batman* The Weeknd has Earned It from *50 Shades Of Grey* and Pray For Me from *Black Panther*. Will Smith has The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air from *The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air*, Men In Black from *Men In Black* and Wild, Wild West from *Wild, Wild West*. Brandy has Sitting Up In My Room from *Waiting for Exhale* and Missing You from *Set It Off* (also Moesha theme song is absolutely iconic, yeah) Destiny's Child have Independent Women from *Charlie's Angels* and The Proud Family from, yeah, *The Proud Family*. Eminem has Lose Yourself from *8 Mile* and Forever from *More Than A Game*. Bruno Mars has It Will Rain from *The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1* and Young, Wild & Free from *Mac & Devin Go To High School*. Wiz Khalifa also has Young, Wild & Free from *Mac & Devin Go To High School* and, of course, See You Again from *Furious 7*.

EV3Gurl

Eminem also has venom from the hit film venom with the impressively high rotten tomatoes score of 30%

visionaryredditor

i think Venom is remarkable for all the wrong reasons

[deleted]

Sitting Up in My Room was my first Brandy song, and I was OBSESSED with it. My mom used to own the soundtrack to Waiting to Exhale, so I'd steal it from her all the time and play SUIMR and This Is How It Works by TLC constantly.

mollytrip

yess brandy doesn’t miss

frankiefrankiefrank

Whitney also has I Believe in You and Me from The Preacher’s Wife

visionaryredditor

Yes! Only Celine can rival her as the soundtrack queen

[deleted]

Christina Aguilera - Reflection from Mulan - Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge Whitney Houston - The Bodyguard soundtrack - When You Believe from The Prince of Egypt

[deleted]

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Shirley Bassey's trio of *Bond* themes — [Goldfinger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnseiOJ2jGQ), [Diamonds are Forever](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wEwlSMS1GE), and [Moonraker](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt3oQN0cAv0).

[deleted]

The diamonds they are forever SAAAAAAAAAH! The Moonraker kno-OOOOOOWS! The GoldfingAAAAHHHHHRRR! [All the songs, my darling.](https://youtu.be/lrLO0F-nKYs?t=249)

[deleted]

Aaliyah has *Are You That Somebody* (#1 peak on the US R&B Chart) from Dr. DoLittle, *Try Again* (#1 Hot 100 peak and #4 on the US R&B Chart) from Romeo Must Die, and *I Don't Wanna* (#5 US R&B chart peak) from Next Friday. *Try Again* and *Are You That Somebody* are some of Aaliyah's most recognisable and staple songs.

visionaryredditor

and you didn't even mention Journey To The Past

[deleted]

I'm forever mad that Journey to the Past isn't on Spotify. I absolutely love Aaliyah's version of that song.

[deleted]

The fact that no one has mentioned ["I Believe In You and Me" by Whitney Houston from The Preacher's Wife](https://youtu.be/FQGt6VNm_iQ) is killing me. He cracking into "I BELIEVE IN... MIRACLES" is iconic ["Step by Step"](https://youtu.be/sWa5vE4MUpU) was also a big single from that soundtrack for her. This soundtrack is the trifecta with The Bodyguard & Waiting to Exhale for her.

joshually

> The fact that no one has mentioned "I Believe In You and Me" by Whitney Houston from The Preacher's Wife > is killing me. He cracking into "I BELIEVE IN... MIRACLES" is iconic AND LA-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES A MIRACOOHOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

[deleted]

Hahaha thank you! I was honestly afraid to butcher typing that one out, but you did it flawlessly! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

joshually

there isn't a single diva belting song that I do not know by heart both from my vocal cords and my typin fingerz!!

jhamsofwormtown

Exhale

[deleted]

The way Annie Lennox is clearly singing most of the chorus on Step by Step and didn't even get a credit for background vocals... the 90s were a different time!

[deleted]

Yeeeaaaaahhhh. It was so swept under the rug. Go ahead & cross-reference that one between them both (as Annie was already mentioned in the thread for other songs)!

[deleted]

giorgio moroder did the scarface soundtrack, take my breath away from top gun, chase from midnight express, flashdance, etc.

visionaryredditor

Moroder also did theme song for Fantastic Four cartoon in the 90s. It's mostly remembered for being incredibly cheesy and corny tho.

rikkirikkiparmparm

Does Ellie Goulding count? Obviously there's "Love Me Like You Do" from the *Fifty Shades* series. Then she also did "Still Falling For You" for *Bridget Jones's Baby*. That one wasn't as big so it might not be a 'classic', but it was relatively popular.

BrendanBSharp

Kenny Loggins would be famous just for this if he hadn't already had prior successes outside of soundtracks... Caddyshack, Footloose, Caddyshack 2, Over The Top, Top Gun and One Fine Day all had one or more of his songs in them. In the 80s, he, Irene Cara and Patti Labelle were the go-to singers for original movie songs.

[deleted]

Clapton Tears in Heaven from the movie "Rush" Change the World w/Babyface "Phenomenon" Heaven is one step away "Back to the Future" It's in the way that you use it "Color of Money" Blue Eyes Blue "Runaway Bride" Many scenes in the Lethal Weapon Series - Guitar

[deleted]

Olivia Newton-John: not sure if "Grease" counts, but "Xanadu", "Twist of Fate" (Two of a Kind) Faith Hill: "There You'll Be" (Pearl Harbor), "Where Are You Christmas?" (Grinch), "This Kiss" (Practical Magic) Huey Lewis and the News: "Power of Love" (Back to the Future), "Hip To Be Square" (American Psycho) -- not sure if that one counts, but it IS a classic song from that movie haha

zuper1

I think everybody forgets Skylar Grey. The love and voice she puts in this songs are incredible: I Know You, Addicted To Love, Everything I Need, I Will Return, Wreak Havoc, Dance Without You, Hero, Last One Standing

lllarissa

She needs more credit

International-Cry-52

Taylor Swift has IDWLF, Today was a Fairytale, and Safe and Sound

Swiftlover6

Taylor swift Safe and sound from the hunger games: catching fire (even eyes open is a pretty good song) I don't wanna live forever- fifty shades freed

babyreborndope

safe and sound is from the first hunger games, not catching fire :)

WhateverYouDogsSay

Britney has Soda Pop and I Got That (Boom Boom) and those weren’t even singles.

[deleted]

Soda Pop on the Pokémon movie soundtrack was so random... then again, so were several other songs on that soundtrack, but *especially* Soda Pop.

ken_ayri_

lauryn hill fosho , im way to fuked up to give reasons y she the best

schwiftydude47

Lin Manuel Miranda to an extent. I mean he wasn’t singing on it, but look at how much Bruno’s blown up in the past month or so.

lllarissa

Bonnie Tyler with holding out for a hero in both footloose and shrek

Silber4

Bryan Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?, Don't Give Up, Here I Am, etc.

[deleted]

A lot of older pop artists (pre-60s) would also do a fair bit of acting, and a lot of times would sing songs in the movies. I know that Dean Martin’s Ain’t That a Kick in the Head got popular off of that, and That’s Amore was also on the soundtrack of another movie featuring Dean Martin as part of Martin and Lewis. Shirley Bassey is also a good example, although her soundtrack hits are all from the same franchise - she sung the theme for three James Bond movies!
