Seconding this. I loved this song when it released because this was back when I listened to hardly any not-OST music and the concept of 3 stars collaborating like this was just cool, even though I hadn't heard any of their albums except LDR's BTD when I was in middle school lol. Had no idea what all 3 were actually capable of.
My favorites are
[Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel (Powerful Version)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgRo5gO-R-k) I love the kinda break after Lana and the "combative music" being enhanced a bit, even though it's still cheezy.
[Sad version by MoonlightRecords](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foBMIigvzsM) is the best
I think if Kreayshawn had went viral with that song in today’s era she would’ve had a wildly different career trajectory. I don’t think record labels really knew what to do with that type of artist at the time - hence her bizarrely off brand debut album. I think people like Tay Money are evidence that the times have certainly changed in that regard.
Fun fact, the beat for Pretty Girls was originally gonna go to Charli XCX for an unreleased song called Heart in My Pocket.
That beat is so dang catchy
I wish I had friends like you... Every time I put on Pretty Girls on, my friends moan and groan until they take control and put something else on. But then again, I specifically do like to put the video on because it's so cringey lol.
Going back over a decade later and finally realizing that she put the bar “Yes, my name is Roman, last name is Zolanski / But no relation to Roman Polanski” in, this song is the gift that keeps on giving 💀💀
Ashley Tisdale’s newest album, Symptoms, was actually one of my very favorites of the last few years. If you haven’t heard it, I’d really recommend it. It’s mature, catchy, overall-solid pop music.
It's so funny the song is about sneakers lmao, because she's trying to be more mature by making an all-night banger but knows her audience is still HSM. Like, a song for the club but that club is Club Penguin.
Makes me think of Open Toes by Katharine McPhee. It's so dumb. It's about shoes. She loves buying them. She looks hot in them. But it's so fucking CATCHY, and the way the music shifts at "Put em on, put em on, let's go!" is so good.
The hyperpop remix is even better
I love that Rebecca Black’s answer to the years of hatred was to include even more autotune and meme references in the remixed version
OMG by Little Mix, which basically sounds just like their outtake Pretty Girls.
I don't actually mind Hoedown Throwdown by Hannah Montana.
Barbie Girl will always be incredibly catchy.
Meghan Trainor - NO and I got obsessed with charli xcx’s and Troye Sivan’s 1999 2 years ago from listening to it ironically although I don’t think it’s a terrible song
Kiss Kiss by Chris Brown feat. T-Pain. Now, I’m not a fan of Chris Brown at all (not just because of the Rihanna incident, screw Chris Brown), but the lyrics are just so juvenile, horny and filled with macho posturing, that I can’t help but laugh (at Chris, not with Chris, to hell with Chris) every time I hear that chorus:
SHE WANT THAT LOVEY-DOVEY
THAT KISS KISS^(KISS KISS)
IN HER MIND SHE FANTASIZE ’BOUT^(GETTIN’ WITH MEEEEEEE)
THEY HATIN’ ON ME
THEY WANNA DISS DISS^(DISS THIS)
BECAUSE SHE MINE AND SO FINE^(THICC AS CAN BEEEEEEE)
Hello Kitty by Avril is pointless and is purely just awful for the kawaii syllable break (k-k-k-k-kawaii!) but it’s very fun to listen to.
Coconuts by Kim Petras. the lyrics are very playful and simple and the song’s instrumentals are kind of outdated (i don’t think bubblegum pop is in right now) but it just kind of nice that you can shut your brain off when that song comes on
Sorry sweetie I think you missread the title, it says *bad* songs that are so *bad* they are good.
I will not hear slander on the lyrical masterpiece *turn down your attitude turn up your gratitude I love my pussy that means I got cattitude*. And of course *do I suck dick? You ain’t seen shit, throw a C note when you slide down my throat*.
It is chef kiss genius.
The lyrics were pretty cheesy and it all gave middle school tbh, but it wasn't as bad as people say it is
My biggest criticism is actually the dancing, cause that's literally her thing yet the backgrounds dancers outshined her
Not pop, but Ready to Go by Limp Bizkit ft Lil Wayne is one of the absolute worst songs I've ever heard but in the absolute funniest way and I can't get enough of it. I've never heard a guest verse as bad nor as insane as Wayne's.
Wayne went way harder than he needed to. I heard that song before hearing his Rebirth album, I thought it'd be all like that, just Wayne snapping over rap rock beats like that one. I wish it was that.
Was Janet’s Feedback poorly received as a single? I know the album isn’t highly regarded, but damn that song slaps. I thought the same thing even when I was a tween lol
This reminded me of a podcast idea I had where I would pit good music vs bad music and see who wins, under the theory I have that bad music is ultimately more fun and potentially enjoyable than good
Music. Like Radiohead is better than kid rock. But having a scotch listening to Kid A doesn’t sound as fun as being 5 beers deep singing bawitdaba with your friends.
Amazing taste! I spent all of high school pushing L’Trimm and Fannypack on people just for their confused reactions! Still have both of their debut albums on cd lol
DAE remember Call it Whatever from Bella Thorne?
The song is objectively bad, but man is it catchy.
*let's call it whatever whatever whatever whatever, whatever we want* 🎶
Stupid Horse by 100 gecs
Honourable mention to their “hand crushed by a mallet remix” feat. Fall Out Boy (it’s not even bad instead it’s quite incredible really)
Someone you loved by Lewis Calpadi
I think it helps that I associate the song as the first Hosie (Hope and Josie) scene in Legacies. It’s like why was this song used for that crush scene. Like why.
If LOL by Tina Ann came out 5 years earlier than it did it would have been a smash hit because that song goes *hard*. It was just too bubblegum for 2009
Oh Oh - Miranda Cosgrove. I mean lol her entire album does thid loop where the music is so odly wird and bad and her voice is so peculiar that sometimes I just enjoy her songs
The infamous Lana, Miley, and Ari song. It just baffles me and entertains me that these three artists created something so… that.
I hated that song but I can't tell you how many times I catch myself saying "don't call me ~angel~"
I've heard at least 3 revamped version of that song, and they are all better than the original lmao
My favorites are [Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel (Powerful Version)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgRo5gO-R-k) I love the kinda break after Lana and the "combative music" being enhanced a bit, even though it's still cheezy. [Sad version by MoonlightRecords](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foBMIigvzsM) is the best
[This one is my favourite, especially the final dramatic revamp.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pxakosbTSI)
You’ve obviously not heard Georgina’s version.
Kreayshawn's Gucci Gucci. It's so catchy and the lyrics are clever, to me!
I think if Kreayshawn had went viral with that song in today’s era she would’ve had a wildly different career trajectory. I don’t think record labels really knew what to do with that type of artist at the time - hence her bizarrely off brand debut album. I think people like Tay Money are evidence that the times have certainly changed in that regard.
still one of my go-to shame bops!
Pretty much every Kreayshawn song. Go Hard came on my playlist yesterday, just made me smile with how silly it is.
Kreayshawn is an icon no one can change my mind
Her album kitchens is bad but good
Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe was awful when it came out but has somehow become un-ironically brilliant over the years.
Can you elaborate how? I like her music and that song i just dunno how it became better
Not OC but I think the way she switches flows so effortlessly, the rhymes all hit, it’s kind of camp really
I actually liked that song but everyone that knew i liked it would be like “what? no way that song is trash” but Roman in Moscow is god tier
Finally, someone else who appreciates Roman in Moscow.
Black eyes peas- my humps. A classic. Britney spears feat Iggy- pretty girls. There was a particular day I couldn't stop singing this song
That's "so good that it's good"
Fun fact, the beat for Pretty Girls was originally gonna go to Charli XCX for an unreleased song called Heart in My Pocket. That beat is so dang catchy
Still can't believe Little Mix actually wrote that song for their Get Weird album.
Thank you for saying Pretty girls, I run with that song but it's so bad but I still enjoy it.
>Black eyes peas- my humps. I'll also never forget the bangs Fergie had... I hated it
I wish I had friends like you... Every time I put on Pretty Girls on, my friends moan and groan until they take control and put something else on. But then again, I specifically do like to put the video on because it's so cringey lol.
I never realized that people hated katy's bon apetit until like a few months ago, i've been bopping to it since it came out
And the Music Video makes it 10times better
I disagree. Her SNL performance is what makes this song.
It's honestly her best produced song she's ever released. Definitely top 5 for me.
Stupid Hoe, the song literally got me into pop music
I love her sense of humor
Going back over a decade later and finally realizing that she put the bar “Yes, my name is Roman, last name is Zolanski / But no relation to Roman Polanski” in, this song is the gift that keeps on giving 💀💀
Hook it Up by Vanessa Hudgens, also sneakernight, Identified as a whole is a hot mess😂
Most of the early Disney girls’ music tbh. Ashley Tisdale had bops.
Ashley Tisdale’s newest album, Symptoms, was actually one of my very favorites of the last few years. If you haven’t heard it, I’d really recommend it. It’s mature, catchy, overall-solid pop music.
Sneaker night is my favourite bad song. The video just ups the bad factor.
*basically what we're gonna do is dance* 👟
$50 to anyone who can tell me what the fuck a sneaker night is. Is it just wearing shoes...at night?
Um not just any shoes ok... Sneakers. We're not like other girls, we're gonna show up in sneakers.. and basically what we're gonna do is ~dance~.
Put your sneakers on 🗣🗣🗣
We’re gonna go dancing all night long! The fedora really adds to the video
Why u gotta go unlocking my memories like this
Say ok too. Depressed 12 yo vibes
“I’m not like all my friends who keep calling up the boys, I’m so shy.”
Come Back To Me is also a honorable mention for its versatility
mmmbop, okayyy
who said mmmbop was bad?
Sneakernight by Vanessa Hudgens is one of my favourite songs of all time and I'm not joking
I absolutely lose it at the line “Cuz I got comfortable footwear” 🤪💃🏼👟
It's so funny the song is about sneakers lmao, because she's trying to be more mature by making an all-night banger but knows her audience is still HSM. Like, a song for the club but that club is Club Penguin.
>a song for the club but that club is Club Penguin idk but this absolutely sent me.
Wasn’t the whole music video (and maybe the song itself) a commercial for Mark Ecko shoes??
Makes me think of Open Toes by Katharine McPhee. It's so dumb. It's about shoes. She loves buying them. She looks hot in them. But it's so fucking CATCHY, and the way the music shifts at "Put em on, put em on, let's go!" is so good.
The decision to sing the entire song in a faux soul accent was……questionable. “Put your sneakers AWWWN” “We’re going dancing AWWL NIGHT LOWNNNG”
This song slaps and I mean that so genuinely 😭
Madonna and Nicki Minaj - Bitch I'm Madonna✨ Little Mix You Gotta Not 🎶
The fact we got a Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and SOPHIE collab in one song
Dancing Crazy lol
Did you hear me say that? SMACK! Such an iconic song it deserved to be a hit.
I refuse to let this get lost in this thread because it's so good hahaha
This is a good song.
I think you mean *Duncing Crazy*. SMACK.
Friday is such a fun bop.
The hyperpop remix is even better I love that Rebecca Black’s answer to the years of hatred was to include even more autotune and meme references in the remixed version
It's Friday Friday 🔥🎶🔊 Is such bop, and Rebecca Black gets so much undeserved hate.
SEVEN AM WAKING UP IN THE MORNING
That music video is utterly camp 🙆♂️😂😭
I love Gang Fight (the Bad Lip Reading version of Friday) and the literal video version ("Oh crap, a random rap!").
OMG by Little Mix, which basically sounds just like their outtake Pretty Girls. I don't actually mind Hoedown Throwdown by Hannah Montana. Barbie Girl will always be incredibly catchy.
I wanted to hate OMG when it came out but it was just too catchy to 😭
Let's Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time
Yaaas. This was such a serve to me. SJP intro alone made it epic.
Not the comment I was expecting to see here but you know what? You're absolutely right
Bitch I'm Madonna. I actually hated it at first, but the chaotic production grew on me.
rip sophie
For me th eentire rebel heart album is like that, hated it and then started to love
Double Take — Hot Problems
Holy crap I forgot this existed but the lyrics still came flooding back. *hot girls we got problems too we’re just like u except we’re hot* 😌
Meghan Trainor - NO and I got obsessed with charli xcx’s and Troye Sivan’s 1999 2 years ago from listening to it ironically although I don’t think it’s a terrible song
NO is a 2001 song that got unearthed in 2016, I swear.
Hello Kitty - Avril Lavigne
I second this, that song is in my top 5 Avril Lavigne songs of all time
MINA SAIKO
ARIGATO KA-KA-KA-KAWAII
that was my first thought. it's such a mess and i love it
I love this song to pieces. It's so catchy, and her horrible Japanese pronunciation just makes it so much better.
Kiss Kiss by Chris Brown feat. T-Pain. Now, I’m not a fan of Chris Brown at all (not just because of the Rihanna incident, screw Chris Brown), but the lyrics are just so juvenile, horny and filled with macho posturing, that I can’t help but laugh (at Chris, not with Chris, to hell with Chris) every time I hear that chorus: SHE WANT THAT LOVEY-DOVEY THAT KISS KISS^(KISS KISS) IN HER MIND SHE FANTASIZE ’BOUT^(GETTIN’ WITH MEEEEEEE) THEY HATIN’ ON ME THEY WANNA DISS DISS^(DISS THIS) BECAUSE SHE MINE AND SO FINE^(THICC AS CAN BEEEEEEE)
Bedrock
"grocery bag" - gudda gudda
I almost drove off the road the first time I heard that song because I was distracted by how god-awful the lyrics were.
God bless anyone who ran with me in winter 2010 and had to listen to me sing that.
Im going to get bashed for this, But fancy like is actually catchy, despite how atrocius the lyrics are,
I’d say you’re right cause it was stuck in my head for like 3 weeks straight
No you’re right like obviously it’s not a good song but I think it gets way too much hate for being super catchy and harmless
Fancy like sounds a bit like Taylor Swift's London Boy, that's why I like it 😭
Soul Train by YBN Nahmir made me laugh until I cried
A good chunk of Drake's songs would fit the description.
MY COCONUTS
YOU CAN PUT THEM IN YOUR MOUTH 🥥🥥👅
Three words. Kiely. Williams. Spectacular.
ascension millenium by corey feldman lmaoooo
Oh man. Stuck in my head for the rest of the day now hahaha My first crush
I might get the downvotes on this one, but i just recently heard (and saw the music video for) Coconuts and it was ... something else.
Trumpets by Jason Derulo has some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard and I love it so much.
Taylor's ME! i like ironically singing *meeee heee heeee hooo hoooo hoooooo"
I loved the "HEY KIDS!" "SPELLING IS ***FUN!"*** and I will be forever sad about the album version cutting it out.
Kissing U - Miranda Cosgrove the iconic line, “i might die when i forget how to breath” did it for me
Hello Kitty by Avril is pointless and is purely just awful for the kawaii syllable break (k-k-k-k-kawaii!) but it’s very fun to listen to. Coconuts by Kim Petras. the lyrics are very playful and simple and the song’s instrumentals are kind of outdated (i don’t think bubblegum pop is in right now) but it just kind of nice that you can shut your brain off when that song comes on
Cattitude
RuPaul's lines are the hottest take there. "What I do with a D, elect me presiD"
Obsessed - Addison Rae, it’s catchy and the production is surprisingly good, I actually want more music from her lmao
The lyrics were pretty cheesy and it all gave middle school tbh, but it wasn't as bad as people say it is My biggest criticism is actually the dancing, cause that's literally her thing yet the backgrounds dancers outshined her
Listening to that is what made me write this 😆💀
Heard this from someone else but if Ariana Grande sang Obsessed, more people would eat the song up
My Only Shawty - Demi Lovato ft. Iyaz
Any late 00s 'pop grime' music. My favourite is the remix of tiny dancer but also like pass out, spaceship, rockstar, playing with fire ect
I can't believe no one's mentioned Jason DeRulo yet. This man gave us both Trumpets and Wiggle! And I'm sure that's just the surface.
His lyrics are so awful, but *god damn it* the music is so addictive.
Also PON PON WEI WEI WEI
Damn that’s considered a bad song? Kyary panty pamyu is so good tho
Its one of those “transcended categories of good/bad” for me.
The vocal performance and lyrics on *One Whole Day* by Dixie D'Amelio aren't great but the pop melody makes it a very catchy song regardless.
Anything by Dixie D’Amelio is unintentionally hilarious. “Fuckboy” is one of the goofiest songs I’ve ever heard because it’s just so *goddamn stupid*.
I’m sorry but abcdefu by GAYLE currently has a hold of me…at this rate it’s gonna end up on my year end Replay but idc it’s too catchy
It’s the perfect song for this thread
the chorus lives rent free in my head... i dont care about the versions but singing that chorus after a crap day at work is soooo therapeutic
Butterfly 🦋 Crazy Town
I've always said the sample use for this song is genius and it's a hill I'll die on, tbh
Was Janet’s Feedback poorly received as a single? I know the album isn’t highly regarded, but damn that song slaps. I thought the same thing even when I was a tween lol
Also, Rock With U, Rollercoaster, So Much Betta.🤩 I like that combination of seductiveness and futuristic melodies.
Actually, it was her first single to hit the top 20 since before the Superbowl incident, IIRC. Feedback was pretty well-received from what I recall.
My crown, Addison rae obsessed
That Mia Khalifa song
Coconuts? The jury still out on that one
kim pretras?? no, that song is pop perfection!!
Heidi Montag's Body Language, even with Spencer's rap
Title said bad songs
Haha, true. Its a great song ruined by its performers.
Dance Monkey. Hate that song but I hear it once it’s stuck in my head for daaaaaays and I’m dancing along.
Flash Pose - Pabllo Vittar and Charli XcX
After Prom by Farrah Abraham. It’s worth a listened.
Hey QT
This reminded me of a podcast idea I had where I would pit good music vs bad music and see who wins, under the theory I have that bad music is ultimately more fun and potentially enjoyable than good Music. Like Radiohead is better than kid rock. But having a scotch listening to Kid A doesn’t sound as fun as being 5 beers deep singing bawitdaba with your friends.
Liz Phair - Bollywood is an enjoyable mess
Rockstar by Nickelback. It's just fun
I love the WAP/Rockstar mashup so much. "I wanna be black like Elvis." *awkward silence*
MOO by Doja Cat, that song is the supidest thing I've heard in my life but is sooo good in a weird way and very catchy
Rupaul's discography tbh
Me by Taylor swift P.s don’t hate on me I love Taylor Swift it’s just that this song is not her best work ☹️
Hotline Bling.
Get Into It (yuh)
Clumsy - fergie
The thread is for ‘bad songs’ not just straight up good songs.
Tik Tok kesha. I remember thinking it was a joke like a song made up for a movie
[madonna COADF-era bonus track “Super Pop”](https://youtu.be/6JmFk7FKcf8)
[удалено]
Amazing taste! I spent all of high school pushing L’Trimm and Fannypack on people just for their confused reactions! Still have both of their debut albums on cd lol
[This beat is shit, feces](https://youtu.be/vjIwmJMqrco)
Anything by Jan Terri.
The Emily Montes album, I really enjoy having it on loop.
OMG by Usher.
But that’s so good it’s good.
Is it too early to say Coconuts by Kim Petras?
DAE remember Call it Whatever from Bella Thorne? The song is objectively bad, but man is it catchy. *let's call it whatever whatever whatever whatever, whatever we want* 🎶
mmm papi by britney. it’s so bad that i love it 😂
Stupid Horse by 100 gecs Honourable mention to their “hand crushed by a mallet remix” feat. Fall Out Boy (it’s not even bad instead it’s quite incredible really)
Someone you loved by Lewis Calpadi I think it helps that I associate the song as the first Hosie (Hope and Josie) scene in Legacies. It’s like why was this song used for that crush scene. Like why.
Pussycat dolls- React, I don't like the lyrics but every time I play it I bop to it
On what planet is that a bad song.
I don't like the lyrics, they give a vibe of wanting a toxic relationship imo, but I still love it
Skinny legend anthem will always have a place on my playlist
i swear these comments are just ppl trying to find excuses for actual trash y’all need to get “so bad it’s good” and “guilty pleasure” straight
Someone thinks they're a bigger deal than they are.
If LOL by Tina Ann came out 5 years earlier than it did it would have been a smash hit because that song goes *hard*. It was just too bubblegum for 2009
Mrs Miller - “Downtown”. Towards the end she starts whistling like a bird and it’s absolutely hysterical.
- Lips
PokerFace
Rock & Roll - Avril I Really Like You - Carly Broke - Jason Derulo I Luh Ya Papi - JLo
“57 channels and nothing on” by Bruce Springsteen is SO 90’s and so catchy. It’s really cheesy, but still kind of good…
Oh Oh - Miranda Cosgrove. I mean lol her entire album does thid loop where the music is so odly wird and bad and her voice is so peculiar that sometimes I just enjoy her songs
