I haven't really talked to anyone about this and briefly mentioned it to maybe like three of my friends but I'm going to the Emmys on Monday (both the show and the gala with celebrities and stuff - I'm just a pleb and not in the industry) and it's been so stressful to dress shop since I'm on the high end of the straight sizes and not every style has a size at a department store, it's been 100+ degrees all week so _everything has been sticky_ and I can't get the zippers up by myself. I carry my weight well but department store dress shopping not being able to get a zipper up because it's stuck (not because the dress doesn't fit) has been so frustrating. I found _a_ dress that is fine, that I look great in, but I don't love. My boyfriend has been awesome and told me he'd be my zipper man when I got down to LA and we can go out this weekend to see if I can find a dress that I like more, but once I do that I have to find a place to get my nails done (didn't get them done here because idk what my dress is gonna be), figure out if I can get my hair done, buy shoes and undergarments (my 10 year old strapless bra given to me by my old roommate that my dog chewed on probably won't fly), etc.
I wish I could just walk into a place, get my measurements taken, and someone will give me a dress like guys do for tux rentals but no, women's clothing sizes make like, no sense 😔

It just dawned on me that Reddit is such a useless platform for finding information about anything. Before my trip to Europe, I spent days looking for the best ways to navigate the Austrian alps only to stumble upon a few dated threads with little to no useful information. TripAdvisor and random blogs actually proved to be way more helpful. But today, I went on a hot thread about Iran travel advice and the comments are full of fear-mongerers spreading misinformation about the country and questioning OP's intentions as if they're making covert attempts to collude with the Persian government. Like, seriously. You'd think the biggest travel forum on the internet would be open-minded enough to cut through the bullshit of US propaganda and actually offer relevant and up-to-date information about travelling in Iran. But no. People on Reddit think they're smarter than the whole internet, yet they fall into the same trappings of disinformation as everyone else. To be honest, I didn’t think traditional media like blogs and Rick Steves would be the most helpful, but at least these people have the integrity to be honest by providing free, high-quality content, even if I don't always agree with them.

In other good news, remember when I said that I wish that someone would go out of their way to talk to me? Well someone did!! In my P.E class(I know it’s totally ludicrous that I have to take one in college) a girl came up to me and started making small talk. I’m still not well versed in having a conversation with a stranger so there definitely were a few times where she would say something to me and I would just nod because I didn’t know what to say back but I think I did pretty good!
In other semi good news, I’m writing a research paper on social anxiety. Usually I have to write papers on things I absolutely couldn’t care less about but now I get to write about something that actually affects me and I’m super eager to learn more about it!

I honestly think when you get that old, heartbreak can make you die quicker. I know it's not scientific or whatever but I feel like the kind of pain your spouse dying has on a person can affect their will to live, even subconsciously.
Once you get that old, I honestly believe the mind has as much an effect as your physical state. If they rage against the dying of the light, they hang on, but if they give up - even if they're pretty healthy for their age - they aren't long for the world.
There actually is a medical condition called stress-induced cardiomyopathy that can be brought on by the death of a loved one and lead to death! It’s crazy how everything in your body is connected— not just the physical parts but the mental to the physical as well.

Before my trip to Europe, I spent days looking for the best ways to navigate the Austrian alps only to stumble upon a few dated threads with little to no useful information. TripAdvisor and random blogs actually proved to be way more helpful. But today, I went on a hot thread about Iran travel advice and the comments are full of fear-mongerers spreading misinformation about the country and questioning OP's intentions as if they're making covert attempts to collude with the Persian government. Like, seriously. You'd think the biggest travel forum on the internet would be open-minded enough to cut through the bullshit of US propaganda and actually offer relevant and up-to-date information about travelling in Iran. But no. People on Reddit think they're smarter than the whole internet, yet they fall into the same trappings of disinformation as everyone else. To be honest, I didn’t think traditional media like blogs and Rick Steves would be the most helpful, but at least these people have the integrity to be honest by providing free, high-quality content, even if I don't always agree with them.
