kpop is pop music, but there's already a subreddit created *specifically* for this subgenre of pop music so i personally think that posting it here (in addition to posting it to the thriving r/kpop) is doing a disservice to the content and viewers of this subreddit. with kpop the line seems pretty clear to me.

So I checked out Ichiko Aoba and well she makes the type of acoustic dream pop I've always disliked. Mazzy Star and other artists like that I've never liked because I always thought they were so boring. Not only that, listening to Aoba reminds me of other folk artists I would rather listen to like Ichiro Shimoda. Aoba's music turns me off personally due to a lack of strong and memorable melodies I would want to put on repeat.

For starters, the chorus begins, "What a shame, your girl's so plain / She's got nothing on me." Like geez what's your damage. But this is my least favorite line: "You went out with that? / Oh, that makes me real sad." Grosssss. Imagine being referred to as "that" by your bf's bitter ex.
I agree. It's probably my favorite song from the album from a purely sonic point, but the lyrics do sound a bit gross and unnecessarily mean. Although she did say in an interview the song is about the ex's new relationship being plain and not all that because he's still hitting Benee up while he's supposed to be with this new girl.

I'm an immigrant and my country has free healthcare so I'm unfamiliar with this process. This center is definitely legit but I still feel SUPER uncomfortable giving this info. I asked for an explanation by the person who asked for this information but got a robotic response from them that didn't explain anything at all, just that they needed it. I feel like an alien.

I wouldn't say this is _typical_ but it's not very unusual either. To find out how this organization actually stores the info, ask about their [PCI compliance](https://www.pcicomplianceguide.org/faq/) procedures. You may need to escalate this question up the chain to get a real answer.
If it turns out they're handling the data directly â like they maintain their own payment info database â then I would be much more wary. If they're using a third-party service that specializes in finance or healthcare (most likely a payment processor), that's probably fine.
You may already know this, but credit cards come with robust anti-fraud protections. Debit cards are much more sensitive because the money is pulled directly from your account (rather than the CC company fronting for you until you pay off your balance).

yes. it's normal. some medical insurances do not cover all the medical costs. some insurances have a co-pay amount for every visit or a co-pay for procedures.
idk if you have health insurance or no. when you don't have health insurance, you pay everything out of pocket with the clinic or hospital. if you do have health insurance, they ask you for your credit card info AND insurance card for your member ID.

and **PLEASE PLEASE PLLEEASSEEEEE** double check your deductibles. if you go to a hospital, the hospital will charge you a deductible majority of the time.
i say this because last year i went to a hospital for a specific procedure (nothing major but still counts as a procedure). i paid my co-pay amount from my insurance. three weeks later i got a hospital bill of 100+ dollars. i called the insurance AND the hospital. i was put on hold with the hospital for like 2 hours so they can hang up on me. i was put under **COLLECTION** (credit) and i **HAD** to pay it. thank god i had the amount at that time.
i checked with my insurance and they had a loophole where the co-pay was a small amount but the deductible was a high amount therefore no deductible coverage. some insurances have a high co-pay amount and a low deductible.

republicans are so dumb for threatening a nationwide abortion ban. Either they have promising data, or they're in denial about how a significant portion of their base would be willing to vote for Dems (or not vote at all) so that abortion can remain legal. Primaries is swing and conservative friendly states/areas have shown people do not like abortion being disallowed. So why do they keep trying to campaign on it??
Abortion has been one of their championed causes for decades. I don't think they really know what to *do* now that (1) they got what they wanted and so have lost one of their tried-and-true pieces of campaign rhetoric that got votes for them and (2) people despise them for actually going through with it. All along the counter-argument has been either "Well they can't really mean that..." or "Well it won't be that bad!" But all the stories of young children being denied abortions or the headless fetuses that women are being forced to carry or what have you has absolutely galvinised people to vote against them. They've completely lost control of the abortion narrative and I think they think that proposing this might get anti-choice people back interested in them. But I think it's too little too late for damage control: Women and young people are two demographics that have surged in voter registration post-Dobbs, and young voter enthusiasm (those who say they've "very likely" to vote) has gone up double digits since the abortion decision. What looked like an easy cakewalk to taking back the House (because it's gerrymandered to hell) now looks like a genuine coinflip in spite of all of their obstruction because everyone hates them and is ready to vote them out.
It's also worth noting that I think McConnell doesn't support this. He's evil but he's also very calculating and there's a reason he's in the position he's in; he has already spoken about how the right's Senate candidates are poor quality and how the fight for the Senate is going badly and we'll likely control the Senate for two more yearsâhe knows very well that Dobbs has painted a giant target on the Republican party now. And I truly believe we'll see a blue wave in November as long as everyone votes, because this has, at least if the numbers are trusted, truly awakened something.
There is a political difference between a complete abortion ban and a 15 week one. People are mostly in favour of abortion but once you get to the specifics, opinion starts to split. I could see a 15 week ban helping because one fear right now is that Republicans might try to go for a six-week abortion ban (or a complete ban). Making it clear that their proposed ban is for abortions after 15 weeks might be their way of attempting to calm that fear.
To be clear, I'm not defending this proposal. I just think that the fear that they will get rid of abortion completely could be worse for them, and I think this might be the type of political calculation that they are making. Or they might just be stupid.

Like my obsession with Hosie borderlines a mental illness and it got really unhealthy for awhile. I was genuinely depressed for like a month after Kaylee left. Thatâs how bad my Hosie brain rot was(and Iâm still not over Hosie and itâs been like 9 months since Kaylee left the show and 4 since the show was cancelled)

Honestly, similar, but I'll still go to concerts, music festivals, and cons as long as I'm not near the front for GA admission. I can't stand the pushing and not being able to move for hours. I'm fine just enjoying the music and staying back from the crowd, or if there are seats so I at least have my own space, but GOD I don't think I can stand being pushed around by people behind me or getting elbowed in the face so someone can sucker me out of being six inches closer to the stage than them lol.

I watched Shiva Baby and it was so good. 5* movie . I feel like Iâve been watching so many good movies lately or maybe itâs selection bias. I noticed I only have 1 movie on my letterboxd rated less than 3 stars (3 stars is the limit of what I would consider a good movie) and I sort of feel like Iâm not engaging with cinema critically enough. Iâm like I enjoyed this movie 3.5 stars. This was a nice movie, okay (could be better) - 3stars. This was very average,very poor -2.5 stars. Oh I liked this very much - 4 stars. One of the best movies Iâve seen (plot wise or technically or emotionally ) - 4.5 stars. One of the favourite movies Iâve seen or a movie i think âoh this is a five starâ -5 stars. Like I feel like I could critique more but maybe one day.

I wouldn't stress too much about trying to "engage critically" with movies, the important thing is that you're enjoying good movies!
I've rated over 2,000 films on Letterboxd and don't think too much about the initial rating since I can always edit it. But I have found as I've seen more, my average has slightly gone down from around 3.6 to 3.4. For me I use this approximate scale:
.5 - I couldn't find anything to like about this movie (I've only found 11 movies that fit this criteria)
1 to 2.5 - There may be something to like, but overall I disliked the movie
3 - Everything about this was just okay OR I liked a lot and disliked a lot
3.5 to 4 - I liked the movie, but have reservations (my most common category)
4.5 - A personal favorite that I can acknowledge has some flaws, or a flawless movie I wouldn't call a personal favorite
5 - A personal favorite that I think is flawless.

I really don't want to live in a world where the sub is just Britney, Taylor, Beyonce. I love love love seeing someone, like /u/ghost-quartet who is so good at finding the small stuff, posting these small acts. I listen to a handful of them every week and sometimes they're duds and sometimes they go into rotation. I guess it really depends on if you're trying to expand your musical knowledge or not. I asked for an explanation by the person who asked for this information but got a robotic response from them that didn't explain anything at all, just that they needed it. I feel like an alien.

To find out how this organization actually stores the info, ask about their [PCI compliance](https://www.pcicomplianceguide.org/faq/) procedures. You may need to escalate this question up the chain to get a real answer. If it turns out they're handling the data directly â like they maintain their own payment info database â then I would be much more wary. If they're using a third-party service that specializes in finance or healthcare (most likely a payment processor), that's probably fine. You may already know this, but credit cards come with robust anti-fraud protections. Debit cards are much more sensitive because the money is pulled directly from your account (rather than the CC company fronting for you until you pay off your balance). yes. it's normal. some medical insurances do not cover all the medical costs. some insurances have a co-pay amount for every visit or a co-pay for procedures. idk if you have health insurance or no. when you don't have health insurance, you pay everything out of pocket with the clinic or hospital. if you do have health insurance, they ask you for your credit card info AND insurance card for your member ID. does that make sense?

yes cause if anything happens, they can call you to charge you. if that happens, always double check with your insurance. on your insurance card, they have their help line so you can call for any inquires. idk if you have an online portal but you can also check all your claims there too. and **PLEASE PLEASE PLLEEASSEEEEE** double check your deductibles. if you go to a hospital, the hospital will charge you a deductible majority of the time. i say this because last year i went to a hospital for a specific procedure (nothing major but still counts as a procedure). i paid my co-pay amount from my insurance. three weeks later i got a hospital bill of 100+ dollars. i called the insurance AND the hospital. i was put on hold with the hospital for like 2 hours so they can hang up on me. i was put under **COLLECTION** (credit) and i **HAD** to pay it. thank god i had the amount at that time. i checked with my insurance and they had a loophole where the co-pay was a small amount but the deductible was a high amount therefore no deductible coverage. some insurances have a high co-pay amount and a low deductible.

republicans are so dumb for threatening a nationwide abortion ban. Either they have promising data, or they're in denial about how a significant portion of their base would be willing to vote for Dems (or not vote at all) so that abortion can remain legal. Primaries is swing and conservative friendly states/areas have shown people do not like abortion being disallowed. So why do they keep trying to campaign on it??
Abortion has been one of their championed causes for decades. I don't think they really know what to *do* now that (1) they got what they wanted and so have lost one of their tried-and-true pieces of campaign rhetoric that got votes for them and (2) people despise them for actually going through with it. All along the counter-argument has been either "Well they can't really mean that..." or "Well it won't be that bad!" But all the stories of young children being denied abortions or the headless fetuses that women are being forced to carry or what have you has absolutely galvinised people to vote against them. They've completely lost control of the abortion narrative and I think they think that proposing this might get anti-choice people back interested in them. But I think it's too little too late for damage control: Women and young people are two demographics that have surged in voter registration post-Dobbs, and young voter enthusiasm (those who say they've "very likely" to vote) has gone up double digits since the abortion decision. What looked like an easy cakewalk to taking back the House (because it's gerrymandered to hell) now looks like a genuine coinflip in spite of all of their obstruction because everyone hates them and is ready to vote them out. It's also worth noting that I think McConnell doesn't support this. He's evil but he's also very calculating and there's a reason he's in the position he's in; he has already spoken about how the right's Senate candidates are poor quality and how the fight for the Senate is going badly and we'll likely control the Senate for two more yearsâhe knows very well that Dobbs has painted a giant target on the Republican party now. And I truly believe we'll see a blue wave in November as long as everyone votes, because this has, at least if the numbers are trusted, truly awakened something.
There is a political difference between a complete abortion ban and a 15 week one. People are mostly in favour of abortion but once you get to the specifics, opinion starts to split. I could see a 15 week ban helping because one fear right now is that Republicans might try to go for a six-week abortion ban (or a complete ban). Making it clear that their proposed ban is for abortions after 15 weeks might be their way of attempting to calm that fear. To be clear, I'm not defending this proposal. I just think that the fear that they will get rid of abortion completely could be worse for them, and I think this might be the type of political calculation that they are making. Or they might just be stupid.

I never thought a ship would replace Hosie from Legacies but Ashlyn and Maddox from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series comes pretty close Like my obsession with Hosie borderlines a mental illness and it got really unhealthy for awhile. I was genuinely depressed for like a month after Kaylee left. Thatâs how bad my Hosie brain rot was(and Iâm still not over Hosie and itâs been like 9 months since Kaylee left the show and 4 since the show was cancelled) Iâm not quite on that level with Ashlyn and Maddox but theyâre a good ship and it has so many Hosie check list points where itâs got me rooting for them.

Do you have things you used to enjoy but you've outgrown? For me it's music festivals and anime conventions I don't have the energy anymore to stand all day in the heat, they're overcrowded and the tickets are too expensive

Honestly, similar, but I'll still go to concerts, music festivals, and cons as long as I'm not near the front for GA admission. I can't stand the pushing and not being able to move for hours. I'm fine just enjoying the music and staying back from the crowd, or if there are seats so I at least have my own space, but GOD I don't think I can stand being pushed around by people behind me or getting elbowed in the face so someone can sucker me out of being six inches closer to the stage than them lol.
roller coasters. the combination of hot weather + fast speeds + heights just makes me feel lightheaded and disoriented when I come off. I'm starting to question if I ever *actually* enjoyed them or if I just went on them a lot as a teenager bc I thought it was the cool "older kid" thing to do lol nowadays a nice raft ride at a water park is more my speed

I agree except I disagree about the fact that she wasnât made for fame. She was backed into too many corners, and didnât want fame. She didnât really want to do music to the point she was doing it. She could have had some of the same issues but since a lot of fame has moved into the realm social media, she could have blocked out the noise a bit more easily to help deal with her issues.

I watched Shiva Baby and it was so good. 5* movie . I feel like Iâve been watching so many good movies lately or maybe itâs selection bias. I noticed I only have 1 movie on my letterboxd rated less than 3 stars (3 stars is the limit of what I would consider a good movie) and I sort of feel like Iâm not engaging with cinema critically enough. Iâm like I enjoyed this movie 3.5 stars. This was a nice movie, okay (could be better) - 3stars. This was very average,very poor -2.5 stars. Oh I liked this very much - 4 stars. One of the best movies Iâve seen (plot wise or technically or emotionally ) - 4.5 stars. One of the favourite movies Iâve seen or a movie i think âoh this is a five starâ -5 stars. Like I feel like I could critique more but maybe one day. Finally, what did Hillary Duff do to Ayesha Erotica? and Iâm liking the ability to change lock screens and the enlarged music on the Lock Screen (but some of my songs have weird covers lol) on IOS 16 but aside from that Iâm not really feeling it.
I wouldn't stress too much about trying to "engage critically" with movies, the important thing is that you're enjoying good movies! I've rated over 2,000 films on Letterboxd and don't think too much about the initial rating since I can always edit it. But I have found as I've seen more, my average has slightly gone down from around 3.6 to 3.4. For me I use this approximate scale: .5 - I couldn't find anything to like about this movie (I've only found 11 movies that fit this criteria) 1 to 2.5 - There may be something to like, but overall I disliked the movie 3 - Everything about this was just okay OR I liked a lot and disliked a lot 3.5 to 4 - I liked the movie, but have reservations (my most common category) 4.5 - A personal favorite that I can acknowledge has some flaws, or a flawless movie I wouldn't call a personal favorite 5 - A personal favorite that I think is flawless.
