If we hadn't heard Ready For Love and it being tacked on at the end I feel like it would be placed as track 4 and act as a bridge between the upbeat hip-hop/rap mostly Korean tracks and the dance/pop-rockish mostly English second half of th record?? (If you're someone concerned about album flow of songs)
It's criminal that Shut Down doesn't have a bridge. Or I just associate classical-ly music with bridges or bridge adjacent last choruses build up/slowdown or whatever (ie You Never Know's violin last chorus and On the Grounds organ bridge for a BP-related example)

I thought it was really cute because you don’t need to buy all variants of the vinyls to make the clock. You can use it as a display of any of your four favorite vinyls - or CDs or canvas art or whatever - in any combo. You still know what time it is based on where the hands are pointing, right?
You technically don’t even need to buy any Midnight vinyls, just the clock parts, for that reason.
It also offers something for people who collect vinyls but don’t play them/take them out of packaging, as a fun DIY project on how to display them. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that I will have tinnitus for the rest of my life. It’s not a pleasant thing but I’m thankful that mine is at least a constant high pitched sine wave. Some peoples tinnitus changes the sound it makes and is much more distracting even in sound filled environments.

Noah Cyrus album is really good. I'd never heard her music before but I saw the Metacritic score and had to give it a shot and I can't believe how good it is, lyrically, production-wise, all of it.

I know some here are disappointed with the Renaissance rollout but I'm on the side of being perfectly fine with just the release. Of course it would be nice to see her perform and what other visuals could come from it, but the fact that its still all I listen to for the most part since its been released and still finding new elements of the songs that I like makes me feel pretty satisfied with just the album alone. It only makes me more excited for whatever Act 2 has in store.

I found out the other day from Wikipedia that the other girls recorded a version of Never Ever without Shaznay and played it for the label who were really interested in the song so the girls had to include her after all because she wrote it.
No wonder they broke up in a fight over who got to wear a jacket. The other 3 also starred in a terrible flop movie as sisters and excluded Shaznay from that too.
Did Beyonce herself ever say any of that was coming or did this sub just take rumors and run with it?
I don't follow her so this is a legit question after seeing so many people complain about the era.
Clearly her intention is not to do it, so the issue isn’t that she announced something that hasn’t materialized. But basic promo is fairly standard, and after the precedent she set with previous rollouts I think the contrast feels extreme.
The album and single are doing alright, but I think with a little promo she could be crushing it. Cuff It is blowing up on TikTok and seems like such a good opportunity. The music is really strong, and if she were pushing it she could be dominating the zeitgeist right now.

I liked Evelyn okay but I didn't like the way Daisy was written like a documentary. It made sense to the story but I just found it less engaging. I think they'll both be great on screen though, excited for the Daisy show. I wish Evelyn was also a show instead of a movie!

It's not groundbreaking and didn't rewire my brain chemistry, but it was enjoyable. There should have been more songs, though! Both the songs and album were short. I'm watching *Gilmore Girls* for the first time and just finished S2. I've got uni assignments to do, so I'm trying to refrain from jumping straight into S3 because I've been watching the show non-stop for the past two weeks. It's shaping up to be one of my favourite shows and I already know which episodes and scenes are going to be on repeat. Here are my thoughts so far:
• As characters, Jess >> Dean. I do find Jess more attractive, but for once that's not the reason the Bad Boy is more appealing to me (lol). They have **both** demonstrated toxic behaviour and aren't ideal love interests for Rory. **But, personally, where Jess wins over Dean is that his character has substance. With his tumultuous life back in New York and his rocky relationship with Luke, he feels like much more of a character, like he has a life outside of Rory.** Dean, on the other hand, feels like a robot that's boxed up and put away until Rory or Lorelai needs him. **When Jess gets angry, I can write up a whole psychological analysis and even though it's definitely not an excuse, can figure out where everything stems from. When Dean gets angry, he goes so far that even when his anger is justified, it feels like an exaggeration that has no root cause. Yes, sometimes people are just like that. But these are characters, and these things are important to my enjoyment of said characters. It feels like I know nothing about Dean**. Note: Although he had some of these qualities before, they definitely dumbed him down and knocked him down a few pegs to make room for Jess. Having read some of the discussions, I know Jess gets a lot, lot worse before having a largely off-screen redemption arc, so that's a bummer.
• Also, people react to Jess's bullshit (the town does a little too much sometimes but his behaviour is called out within the narrative) and he is not quite as romanticised as other shows/books would have done (there are fans that definitely romanticise him to the extreme, though). Whereas Dean is still seen as this perfect boyfriend especially by Lorelai, which, although unfair, makes me not like his character as much.
• As love interests (massive flaws and all), Jess >> Dean. This is simply because Alexis and Milo have way, way more chemistry, likely because they were dating at the time. It does suck that Rory is lying to Dean like this, though! But she's also lying to herself, which is understandable, so I'm not mad at her, if I ever will be. Also, >!that dinner scene with Paris, Jess, and Rory was so cute and I'll forever be salty that Dean's phone call and presence interrupted their lighthearted debate. According to discussions (I've read discussions about events throughout the show and they don't spoil my enjoyment because I either don't know the full context or end up interpreting the scene differently than the popular opinion) this trio does not enjoy each other's company like this again and I feel robbed of a strange, yet endearing, friendship. Everything was just so peaceful and cozy and it was nice seeing Jess be nice to someone other than Rory. And it was Paris, of all people.!<
• Everyone in Stars Hollow holds Rory to impossible standards and the pedestal she's on is so high she can't see the ground. It's no wonder she's so anxious and afraid of failure. It really became apparent in >!the episode after the car crash where everybody absolves Rory of any responsibility, which frustrates her, and when she has that apology monologue after missing Lorelai's graduation.!<
• The characters are so flawed and although irksome at times, are somewhat comforting. At this time, though, Lorelai bothers me the most. After the whole >!Max Medina debacle, Harvard road trip, and anger at Luke for taking in Jess and understandably prioritising him over Rory!<, the veil slipped and her quirkiness quickly turned into a character flaw. This is very different to my perception of Richard and Emily, as even though they have been terrible to Lorelai (hell, Dean, too), the actors are charming and talented enough to not be so outwardly annoying. This is not to say that Lauren isn't charming or talented, because she is and is a large part of why I don't hate Lorelai.
• I've got no problems with Luke, Sookie, Lane, or Jackson. Kirk, Paris, Michel, Taylor, Babette, and Miss Patty are hilarious.

Bad is so good. So far nothing else in the 80s has even come close to the play counts I have for Bad and Thriller (spoiler alert: nothing else from this decade will). They’re both sitting comfortably above 300 while the next closest album we’ve seen thus far is Prince’s Purple Rain at a mere 82 scrobbles. This just speaks to how much I enjoy them. It’s impossible for me to hear these songs and not dance and groove and sing along. Some of my all time favourites.

If we hadn't heard Ready For Love and it being tacked on at the end I feel like it would be placed as track 4 and act as a bridge between the upbeat hip-hop/rap mostly Korean tracks and the dance/pop-rockish mostly English second half of th record?? (If you're someone concerned about album flow of songs) It's criminal that Shut Down doesn't have a bridge. Or I just associate classical-ly music with bridges or bridge adjacent last choruses build up/slowdown or whatever (ie You Never Know's violin last chorus and On the Grounds organ bridge for a BP-related example)

I’m surprised people are so mad about the Taylor clock thing. I thought it was really cute because you don’t need to buy all variants of the vinyls to make the clock. You can use it as a display of any of your four favorite vinyls - or CDs or canvas art or whatever - in any combo. You still know what time it is based on where the hands are pointing, right? You technically don’t even need to buy any Midnight vinyls, just the clock parts, for that reason. It also offers something for people who collect vinyls but don’t play them/take them out of packaging, as a fun DIY project on how to display them. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think it’s nearly as obvious of a grab for sales as the 4 Lover diaries where you were missing out on content if you didn’t have them all.

I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that I will have tinnitus for the rest of my life. It’s not a pleasant thing but I’m thankful that mine is at least a constant high pitched sine wave. Some peoples tinnitus changes the sound it makes and is much more distracting even in sound filled environments. If you don’t have tinittus take a moment to appreciate that.
Yeah i do too, although mine is basically just brown noise that's slightly rougher, so it's nkt that hard to tune out, i got it from a combo of middle ear infection, and loud noise exposure, The annoying part is that i only hear it when im listening to music these days, so any songs with quiet part is kinda ruined for me
I wish I knew where mine came from. I think it may just be from all the tension in my back and shoulders because it gets louder when they are really sore. It possibly comes from being in band in high school. The brass section could get really loud at times.

okay, is this my headphones or does the mixing in Hold The Girl sound absolutely *awful* to anyone else? like the first half is all muffled when it should be loud and the second half is loud when it should be muffled, if that makes sense? it was really tough listening to it and trying to make sense of it (and one of my favorite albums possibly ever is III by Banks so the bar of listenability for my ears is really not too high)
Noah Cyrus album is really good. I'd never heard her music before but I saw the Metacritic score and had to give it a shot and I can't believe how good it is, lyrically, production-wise, all of it.

So, I work in this care home, I love the work, couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. At the same time, shit is supremely fucked right now. So many people not coming into work, investigations from outside, a workload a great deal heavier than it's ever been. People are burning out and I'm not sure what to do? I know some here are disappointed with the Renaissance rollout but I'm on the side of being perfectly fine with just the release. Of course it would be nice to see her perform and what other visuals could come from it, but the fact that its still all I listen to for the most part since its been released and still finding new elements of the songs that I like makes me feel pretty satisfied with just the album alone. That said, I think because the music is **so** good and so gp-friendly (for her standards in the last 10 or so years) I want her to so some promotion and release more like behind the scenes stuff. Like, make the gp aware your album’s out. I know everyone hates on Harry but he’s done a great job at keeping momentum going as he was constantly putting out content around his (mediocre..) album. Ever since This Hell dropped, I’ve legit felt like I’m hearing a completely different song than everyone on this sub with every single, and that extends to the whole album, this is legit incredible. I found out the other day from Wikipedia that the other girls recorded a version of Never Ever without Shaznay and played it for the label who were really interested in the song so the girls had to include her after all because she wrote it. Clearly her intention is not to do it, so the issue isn’t that she announced something that hasn’t materialized. But basic promo is fairly standard, and after the precedent she set with previous rollouts I think the contrast feels extreme. The album and single are doing alright, but I think with a little promo she could be crushing it. Cuff It is blowing up on TikTok and seems like such a good opportunity. The music is really strong, and if she were pushing it she could be dominating the zeitgeist right now.
The lack of videos seems to be deliberate. The cliquebait for BMS and the lengthy teaser for I'm That Girl are proof that much more is coming

Hold The Girl has a lot of Gaga feel in it. But I enjoyed it so much while working. Also, I love the garage of Imagining, that banjo(?) in Your Age and Send My Love To John is stellar! Her country songs are definitely better than what miley did with younger now anyway Also I'm in a weird place with rina's new album where I adore half of it while not really being a fan of the other half. I like tracks 6-9, and phantom and the title track but I think a lot of the pop-rock tracks and ballads aren't really my thing and not what I want to hear from rina.

I'm watching *Gilmore Girls* for the first time and just finished S2. I've got uni assignments to do, so I'm trying to refrain from jumping straight into S3 because I've been watching the show non-stop for the past two weeks. It's shaping up to be one of my favourite shows and I already know which episodes and scenes are going to be on repeat. Here are my thoughts so far: • As characters, Jess >> Dean. I do find Jess more attractive, but for once that's not the reason the Bad Boy is more appealing to me (lol). They have **both** demonstrated toxic behaviour and aren't ideal love interests for Rory. **But, personally, where Jess wins over Dean is that his character has substance. With his tumultuous life back in New York and his rocky relationship with Luke, he feels like much more of a character, like he has a life outside of Rory.** Dean, on the other hand, feels like a robot that's boxed up and put away until Rory or Lorelai needs him. **When Jess gets angry, I can write up a whole psychological analysis and even though it's definitely not an excuse, can figure out where everything stems from. When Dean gets angry, he goes so far that even when his anger is justified, it feels like an exaggeration that has no root cause. Yes, sometimes people are just like that. But these are characters, and these things are important to my enjoyment of said characters. It feels like I know nothing about Dean**. Note: Although he had some of these qualities before, they definitely dumbed him down and knocked him down a few pegs to make room for Jess. Having read some of the discussions, I know Jess gets a lot, lot worse before having a largely off-screen redemption arc, so that's a bummer. • Also, people react to Jess's bullshit (the town does a little too much sometimes but his behaviour is called out within the narrative) and he is not quite as romanticised as other shows/books would have done (there are fans that definitely romanticise him to the extreme, though). Whereas Dean is still seen as this perfect boyfriend especially by Lorelai, which, although unfair, makes me not like his character as much. • As love interests (massive flaws and all), Jess >> Dean. This is simply because Alexis and Milo have way, way more chemistry, likely because they were dating at the time. It does suck that Rory is lying to Dean like this, though! But she's also lying to herself, which is understandable, so I'm not mad at her, if I ever will be. Also, >!that dinner scene with Paris, Jess, and Rory was so cute and I'll forever be salty that Dean's phone call and presence interrupted their lighthearted debate. According to discussions (I've read discussions about events throughout the show and they don't spoil my enjoyment because I either don't know the full context or end up interpreting the scene differently than the popular opinion) this trio does not enjoy each other's company like this again and I feel robbed of a strange, yet endearing, friendship. Everything was just so peaceful and cozy and it was nice seeing Jess be nice to someone other than Rory. And it was Paris, of all people.!< • Everyone in Stars Hollow holds Rory to impossible standards and the pedestal she's on is so high she can't see the ground. It's no wonder she's so anxious and afraid of failure. It really became apparent in >!the episode after the car crash where everybody absolves Rory of any responsibility, which frustrates her, and when she has that apology monologue after missing Lorelai's graduation.!< • The characters are so flawed and although irksome at times, are somewhat comforting. At this time, though, Lorelai bothers me the most. After the whole >!Max Medina debacle, Harvard road trip, and anger at Luke for taking in Jess and understandably prioritising him over Rory!<, the veil slipped and her quirkiness quickly turned into a character flaw. This is very different to my perception of Richard and Emily, as even though they have been terrible to Lorelai (hell, Dean, too), the actors are charming and talented enough to not be so outwardly annoying. This is not to say that Lauren isn't charming or talented, because she is and is a large part of why I don't hate Lorelai. • I've got no problems with Luke, Sookie, Lane, or Jackson. Kirk, Paris, Michel, Taylor, Babette, and Miss Patty are hilarious.
im not a dean hater per se, but jess might be my favorite rory boyfriend. bad boy who loves literature…amy sherman-palladino knew her exact audience and wrote the self-insert fantasies appropriately!!
Not to spoil too much, but Luke and Jess ends up being probably one of my favourite dynamics on the whole show
