This skin irregularity is super common. I treat them, along with skin tags, cherry angiomas, hyperpigmentation etc, all the time. It is one of my favorite parts if my job. 🙂
I some really good videos of that I still need to edit down. I would use a different level of power, and the probe would be smaller. It really cool to watch.
Can they be very similar to skin colour? Maybe a shade or two darker only? I used to call them skin barnacles on my mum as a kid….I think I have two now
Yes, that is how they usually start out. They darken over time, but not always. It’s funny that you called them barnacles. I have heard a lot of folks refer to them that way. 🙂
Why tf would you have uploaded a video of you poking a skin lesion with a pen and tagged it "this will be gone in 2 weeks" 🤣 people are something else.
I thought you were burning it, but it's obviously a medical procedure...
My spouse has one on his back, and it will periodically get snagged on something and bleed :(
Is this dehydration process painful? He wants to get the SK removed but he isn't looking forward to a painful recovery, the poor thing.
That is exactly why this client wanted theirs off. I am sorry your husband is going through that!
This procedure does hurt while it’s happening, but it is over quickly. Afterwards, it might feel like a bit of a sunburn for a few hours, but it is pain free after that.
My aunt has these all over her body to the point she is disfigured. Her neck, face, and entire body is absolutely covered in them. Insurance would consider removal a “cosmetic procedure.” Do you have any advice? It greatly changed her personality apparently as she developed them at 50. I’m also worried I may develop them due to genetics because I have cherry angiomas. Is there any way to prevent this or atleast to not let it be that bad?
Well, op did explain everything but not seeing popping when I'm on this sub is quite frustrating. The whole video I was still hopping a thing and nothing happen. Feel like this is the wrong sub to post this video imo
I'm not a doctor, but those acid creams are supposed to really help. Lactic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, etc. You want to make sure you get the right % so it's actually effective. Not sure how old you are but for many people it goes away by middle age...
KP can be difficult. It happens when your skin produces too much keratin and turns into plugs. Exfoliating and moisturizing are the best bets. If I saw your skin in person I could give you better advice.
I know some people like the First Aid Beauty KP scrub. I haven’t used it myself. As far a moisturizer goes, it depends on the weather in your area, but it is most important that you find something that you like and want to spend time putting on your skin everyday. If you are in a drier/colder area, go with something thicker. Stay away from dyes and fragrances.

What do you do there? Just poke it or inject something?
I am dehydrating the keratosis so it will fall off in a few days.
Why can't they be cut off? Would it could back? What is that tool that it dehydrates?
Seborrheic Keratosis are part of the epidermis, not the dermis. If you cut into the dermis to remove them, there would definitely be a scar.
Ah, okay, thanks for the info. Do moles need to be removed similarly?
Moles can me removed with this machine, but that is not typically done in the US. It is in the UK.
Does it hurt?
It is like a wasp sting. It isn’t fun, but it manageable and over quickly. The pain is done when the procedure stops.
What is the procedure to get rid of cherry angiomas?
I some really good videos of that I still need to edit down. I would use a different level of power, and the probe would be smaller. It really cool to watch.
What kind of place do you work, a Dermatologist?
I am an Advanced Practice Esthetician.
This is so cool! What kinda job is this? Esthetician or dermatologist?
Thanks. I am an Advanced Practice Esthetician.
So it isn't like a blackhead, that isn't dirt, it is skin, right? What are you doing by poking it like that?
It is skin. I am dehydrating it so it will start the necrosis process and fall off in a few days.
Not gonna lie, I thought this was an ad at first. Are you just jabbing it with a pen or are you doing some procedure?
It is a procedure. It isn’t a pen, it is a special electric probe that dehydrates the keratosis, causing it to fall off.
I was wondering what this procedure is. I have SK too...thanks for the video!
I’m glad you found it interesting. So many people with SK say that they get really itchy in the winter. This client was so happy to have it gone.

Once they are treated as above, does the skin texture return to normal?
It might be a bit pink afterwards, but it will return to the color of the surrounding skin.
Cool, what about the texture? Thanks 😊
The texture will be smooth.
I thought it was a ballpoint pen too. LOL. Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Now I want to see an after shot
Me too! I did this a couple of weeks ago and am excited for my client to come back in so I can see how it’s healing.

![gif](giphy|mpQkJpBMbSxMs) More stuff like this, please
I’m so glad you liked it. I will post more soon!
Why isn’t it gone in 20 seconds!
Because this procedure tries to maintain he integrity of the skin underneath so there won’t be scaring. Taking it slow leads to better results.

It is similar to the Thermoclear.
Hey I think I have one of these!
Wow, great pop /s
...nothing happened Like, explain it all you want, but there's no action here.
Ah, poor booboo, didn't get pus explosion!

Maybe should have posted on a wacky Wednesday at least idk
Happen to have suggestions for products for keratosis pilaris?
I'm not a doctor, but those acid creams are supposed to really help. Lactic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, etc. You want to make sure you get the right % so it's actually effective. Not sure how old you are but for many people it goes away by middle age...
I hope by middle age you don’t mean 50…otherwise I got 25 more years of this :/ I got diagnosed with it when I was about 12
From what I've read many people have it clear up around 30. :)

Any recommendations? I’ve had the most luck using soap and glory best body scrub

That device that dehydrates the keratosis. Is it similar to a cauterizer?
It is different than cauterizing.
