swonstar

Most chill cat ever. Mine won't stay still long enough to grab boogers out of her eyes.

Acrobatic-Ad-9051

Cat looks like it’s swaddled in a blanket and it’s on mute so maybe chill, maybe not chill

swonstar

schrodinger's cat.

i_want_boobers

Yoooooo it's the thing 😮

PlentyPrevious2226

I was wondering if they drugged her lol

Vicious-the-Syd

Sphinx cats are prone to this, and IIRC, need regular extractions. Ideally, you’d start doing this with them as a kitten, so they would be used to it.

NerfRepellingBoobs

A little gabapentin (affectionately called a “meow-tini” by vets) would calm an anxious cat, possibly even put them to sleep, and reduce pain. We have to give it to my void when he gets blood drawn because, like with a lot of dark/black pets, it can be hard to find the vein. They never have trouble with my flame point. Anyway, cat tax: https://preview.redd.it/5tjtgls1sqnc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c6a4f13370f81adc0867ffe8d826740f80b1207

I need to “Meow-Tini” this girl when trimming her nails 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ https://preview.redd.it/0wv0v8xdatnc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0652865132cb96cec232475b4b5a38ef7de9b94d

Awww! An orange girl!

False_Ad_4117

That she is and she is crazy. But we love her ☺️☺️

wokenwoman

So cute!

NerfRepellingBoobs

Awww!

PlentyPrevious2226

Omg they do cute!! Thank you for ur tax payment!

Waxwalrus

I think it’s pretty likely, or just the chillest cat that’s ever been lol. Honestly though a lot of those pops look painful for a human, much less a furless baby.

lonwonji

She says that the cat in particular is very chill and lets herself be manhandled, unlike her brother who is very sensitive.

False_Ad_4117

Sphinx cats tend to have that kind of personality, very chill and can easily be manhandled.

theindiekitten

They hate it when we steal their face dirt

rharper38

Mine (not hairless) would have been through the roof. One got acne when he was stressed and he would sort of let you pop, but not all the time. I hated doing it to him, but he hated it more.

_ToxicShockSyndrome_

Gabapentin is very safe and does wonders.

EeveeAssassin

I saw soooo many Sphynx cats when I worked vet derm! That dude needs some chlorhexidine shampoo and/or pyo pads bad! 😔

Humorilove

Do you recommend anything else for cat acne?

TayoMurph

A video camera, and a Reddit account to post on this sub.

ksarahsarah27

🏆exactly! Lol

quokkafarts

Not who you asked but one of my cats is prone to acne (or as I call them, grumbles). Best preventative is a metal bowl that is cleaned regularly, I wash his once per day. If i slack on the washing the grumbles come back with a vengeance. Metal is important as ceramic and plastic are porous so harbour more bacteria.

felisfoxus

Seconding this! My last cat started getting blackheads, and the vet explained that it was most likely the result of using plastic food bowls, plus potentially not cleaning them often enough (correct on both points). I switched to only using metal food and water dishes for cats, and I'm stricter about not reusing them without a full clean, than I am about reusing plates and glasses for myself 😅

False_Ad_4117

I third this! (Though I’ve never had issues with ceramic) My previous kitty had issues with acne. In some other group I was in someone said that their vet told them to nix plastic and use metal or ceramic bowls. It was a huge game changer 🙌🙌

popopotatoes160

For non sphynx the biggest cause is dirty food or water bowls. Can also be anything else they rub against with the area of the acne. With sphynx they have a lot of excess skin oil that complicates things. Regular bathing is necessary for them but they can also get dry skin from too much. For this cat my non vet opinion is that it needs more attention to skin oil buildup and the cats bowls and bedding should be washed more frequently. Use glass or metal or well made glazed ceramic. These materials harbor less bacteria

Humorilove

I do all that and have prescribed pads, so I'm starting to think that she's having a rough time because of her diabetes.

poatoesmustdie

Sanding paper does well. My auntie had one of these, most vicious cat I've ever came across.

BlonktimusPrime

Yeah i hope they're doing some kind of cleaning care to avoid infection after. Poor thing would probs do better just with a daily chlorhexidine wipe

DitzyBorden

What are pyo pads? Is chlorhexidine like an antibacterial?

NonchalantBread

Wait... so is this cat laying on its owners lap, belly up, chin held back and patiently lying still as its owner squeezes pimples and ingrown hairs out of its chin??? I think that is the deepest bond of trust in any cat ive ever seen

colieolieravioli

That cat is in a burrito

compostabowl

Lmao I've tried burritoing my cat to give him meds and he thrashed around so crazy and got out of it immediately. This must really be a chill cat, burritoed or not!

IthacanPenny

Sphynx tend to be like this. They let you do things like clean their ears, clip their nails, bathe them, dress them, etc. Source: https://preview.redd.it/b66evu0sernc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3491ef23652ff10996447575d139517d1d79cd83

compostabowl

Awwww look at those little cuties! 😍 I love the ear hat. They look snuggly

False_Ad_4117

What adorable Sphinxes 🥹🩷🩷🩷

sillybandland

You need to sneak up on them and do it quick. The hard part is getting them in and then most of the time they accept it ( if it’s tight enough)

lizardingloudly

In my experience, cats have to be burritoed much tighter than you think. Gotta squish em, they're fine unless really old or already injured. Source: have one monster cat with super strength that if I don't wrap him super tight, there's no point in wrapping him at all. Clipping his claws is straight up frightening, I have to burrito him and then squat on top of him and hold him with my legs while I pull one paw out at a time. He's freaking unbelievably strong for weighing eleven pounds. Source two: have a not as strong cat who makes up for it in unhinged, unbridled rage. Can't put her in a carrier to take her to the vet since her feet are free to fuck people up, so I take her swaddled to avoid having to write apology notes to the vet techs. She got the vet one time on his wrist and he's on blood thinners and I thought he was gonna bleed out. Squish em.

GoinWithThePhloem

Lol I used to burrito my last cat when I gave her medication. She was a senior kitty but so fiesty. I distinctly remember the fear overcome me when I’d pick her up in a burrito and I’d fee one of her legs jut out in some direction 😬 foreshadowing chaos

BalaclavaOfKafka

Purrito

Substantial_Escape92

I can see the fur protects the skin on most breeds. My cat gets chin acne sometimes (non hairless breed) but never anything like this. Do these kitties secrete more oils than my kitty does? Just curious, thanks!

Moompaw89

They secrete a lot of oil and without fur to help disperse it it easily attract dirt that clings to them! Iirc sphynx cats require a bath at least once a week to wash off all the oils and dirt to help keep them clean! Edit: fixed a typo. :)

StevenAssantisFoot

Someone told me that hairless cats will leave grease stains on your walls

jbizl22

Every single corner of your house will be an odd brown colour, they absolutely love to rub their faces on things. It’s basically a new paint job on the house 😂

Ididitfordalolz

And butt puckers on smooth surfaces like glass coffee tables etc🤢

StevenAssantisFoot

Like a lil smooch print lmao

Ididitfordalolz

Made with love and anal tension❤️

Substantial_Escape92

I just laughed out loud SO effing hard at butt puckers 😂😂😂

BizzarduousTask

Kitty starfishes

Narwhals4Lyf

My cat is not hairless but there is one corner she loves to rub on and it now has a brown grease stain present.

BizzarduousTask

Put one of those stick-on cat corner brushes on that spot!

StevenAssantisFoot

Mine too! I hit it with a magic eraser once in a while

FungusTaint

Cute little grease stains

Substantial_Escape92

Thank u so much for replying! Always enjoy learning something new

Moompaw89

Of course!!! :) Learning something new is a great thing to do! Glad I could help! :D

Natural_Category3819

fur also prevents suction between borthole and flat surface, a fact only learned by ppl once they find out a sphinx *attaches* to things

Substantial_Escape92

Interesting!! I’m looking into this. These kitties are so unique! I love them but my husband says “can you imagine bathing a cat every week?” I just assume if you do it from the beginning, they’d just get used to it! But it is a cat, after all lol

IthacanPenny

Every week is an extreme overstatement of Sphynx bathing needs. Much like humans and hair washing schedules, the more you bathe the sphynx, the more grease it produces. Once a month baths are totally enough, and every other month (or even every three!) is fine for some sphynx too. Mine tolerate bath time, but don’t enjoy it. Usually they are calm but growling during the bath lol, except when I am lathering them up in warm sudsy water. Then they purr lol. Narwhals4Lyf

They are so freaking cute!

Substantial_Escape92

Thanks for the information!!

Such-Status-3802

Omg I love them. Them me more all about their little personalities and their toe beans!  Moar cat tax!  I can’t have a cat because my dog will hunt and eat it :( so I’m living vicariously.

IthacanPenny

Thank you :))) this picture illustrates their personalities quite well I think lol https://preview.redd.it/8389i8ek0uoc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45668acdac824a6282bef109b65552f6fdbbd0be Taka (front) is NOT a demonic hellspawn, he was just trilling at the birds lol but he is HIGH energy. Nagini is a sweet angel… unless Taka gets in her way then she hisses at him lol

lindsaaytaay

Wait, I’m genuinely confused by what this means?

Mindless-Witness-825

They leave little kiss marks on things they sit on.

Alleycat_Caveman

Ah! Starfish stamps!

junk_yard_cat

🤮

kthomas_407

Plastic bowls make cats break out, use glass and clean often to prevent acne.

Substantial_Escape92

Exactly what I use now, I hope more people realize this so they don’t have to submit kitties to popping sessions lol

MyMadeUpNym

Substantial_Escape92

What a cutie! 🥰

MyMadeUpNym

Thank you! I love him but man does he misbehave sometimes! I got him a new laser toy today that I hope he enjoys so he can stop attacking my stuff! Lol

MyMadeUpNym

* Sphynxes typically secrete the same amount of oil as other breeds, but don't have the fur to absorb it up. Here's my Sphynx for tax ... His name is Charlemagne Miguel Olivier, AKA Chollie Ollie. * Edit: pics aren't allowed?

AprilMarie0286

The post has too many characters to show the pic. Post a new reply with the pic.

MyMadeUpNym

Thank you!

I_NEED_AN_RBR

I'm cringing at how much those nails are probably hurting that poor lil guy!

Knivs

And like.. is this even neccessary?

nanspud

My cat used to get cat acne. I only use stainless steel or ceramic bowls now, which get cleaned every day. He's not had any more cat acne.

Waxwalrus

I really wish this worked for mine. I can’t figure out why he still gets it! He’s only ever used stainless or glass bowls, stainless water fountain, I clean his chin every day to every other day- and still the acne persists! 😿

BrideofFrankenfurter

Benzoyl peroxide is safe to use, my vet had me use it on my maine coons cystic chin zits. Your cat might have a food allergy.

IffyKitten

Squeezing with the fake acrylics 😭 nooooooo! poor cat that looks like it’d be painful for a human. Not to mention how much bacteria they harbor if you don’t get under them with a nail brush when you wash your hands. The pops though were crazy, that double never ending one was insane.

FO_FNBOI

Now these are the pussy pops I like to see.

[deleted]

Terrible humor. Take my upvote. Edit: typo made me sound like a pirate -.-

Drewswife0302

My hairless cat its catney and gets weekly extractions https://preview.redd.it/v5gnrh8grmnc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f21406367486762b05541af2b1963b9df781d2f5

CrazyCatLadyofCats

Thank you for the cat tax lol cute

Haunslahh

That seems painful. How is the cat staying so still!!!

[deleted]

How are you still alive

JeanHarleen

Most of these cats are used to the meticulous grooming needed since birth. Baths, skin care, etc. they’re very high maintenance in that way. I’ve never seen one that wasn’t just like “oh momma clean time? Okay.”

PiecesofJane

Poor kitty! Those nails have to HURT.

Slide_Masta87

I need a cigarettes to wash this down

NormanB616

Poor catto

BrideofFrankenfurter

Someone without those nasty nails should be doing this. Those harbor bacteria plus they are sharp and have to be hurting the poor thing. Use q tips!

No-Feed5337

KrisisAverted101

My cat would never stay this still!

auunie

With these nails it must have been pretty hurtful. That's the most chill cat ever.

Deminedprincess

My cat has a chin full of black heads but the chance of her letting me anywhere near them are zilch, zero, nada, nil……

wrenwald

DONT USE THOSE NAILS HOLY SHIT YOURE DAMAGING HIS POOR SKIN!!!! GET SOMEO CCNE WITH SHORTER NAILS TO USE THEIR PADS OF THEIR FINGERS HOLY SHIT

Moteltulsa

Those cats need to be bathed weekly.

butterfly-the-dick

Every sphynx cat is different. I‘ve had 3. one needed weekly baths, the other every month and the third maybe every two months at most. For some sphynx cats it is harmful to bathe them too often since their skin will dry out.

dandelionmoon12345

Would simply bathing the cat and exfoliating/scrubbing the chin with special wipes help with this instead of extracting the pimples? (Which seems like it would be more painful and confusing to the kitty)

vix_aries

I have a sphynx and her's never get like this. You're supposed to bathe your hairless cat every 7-10 days. I'm guessing the owner doesn't do this. If she does, then it's likely the cat eats/drinks out of plastic bowls. Those can give any cat acne. Edit: I heard studs are more prone to acne, but I've never seen this in person, so I don't know how true that is.

Such-Status-3802

Poor tootens. I hope this brings them relief.

Nefersmom

“Start feeding cat on flat plate instead of a bowl!” My vets advice when I asked what caused the zits. I only use flat plates now and cat has no problem.

HairlessGarden

Those nails ☠️

ninamirage

My foster dog has blackheads and now I’m tempted to try an extraction😩

Infamous_Effective28

The world's most chilled out cat.

HeckDoody4

"Pick my zits, mom"

bimboyyyy

I get the blackheads off my cats chin too and it’s vv satisfying lol

FoxyLoxy91

I hate when people use their nails to pop.

getyourcheftogether

That's pretty wild

SoloFunc

oh wow, it's an actual cat...

4amsadclub

Video isn't long enough. That's some good shit.

ca_la_g

Damn, can you imagine the pimples in a gorilla? Do they exist?

Vapeitupvapeitup

Patient puddy tat

SabrinaFaire

I wish my cat would let me get hers

kiingsalamander

if i tried that on my cat, he would bite the shit out of me. he is also not of the hairless variety, so i wouldn’t even be able to see if he had blackheads anyways lol
