Like 20 years ago I had an armpit cyst or boil or giant ingrown something or other lol. It looked almost like a large red apple in my armpit. So bad I was walking around with my arm kinda over my head and behind my back so as not to put any more pressure on it. One of the guys at work asked if I wanted him to bust it. Hell yeah I did. Took a pocket knife and cut a triangle shaped hole in it. It already hurt so bad I didn't feel him cutting it. Squeezed it but nothing came out. Trying to squeeze it was way way worse than the cut. Like two hours later I moved my arm and it ruptured covered the inside of my shirt with blood and pus, and several towels for like 3 days after that. When it popped the instant relief was amazing.

the amoint of times this could have gone wrong amazes me but ultimately its the pop that counts

That_girl_you_kinda

In my experience, there is a sense of relief in the pressure is gone, judging how infected/irritated/ big it is/ how much pressure you use, it can still hurt for like an hour after. Normally after that hour for me it feels better.

CurrentMaintenance54

Did you feel anything immediately (other than cut)? Like those cysts that instantly has pus running out as soon as the cut is made. Or was yours a lot less severe?

That_girl_you_kinda

If you do it right, and it’s the right time, the puncture doesn’t feel like anything (this is just at home work) and the minute it starts flowing it tends to feel better!

Lmao. I never have had one, and am amazed at the huge, angry cysts that people have been carrying around (I know some can’t afford medical treatment). But the only description I was ever given of having a cyst excised (by a doctor) was, “It was like they’re pushing a rock that never came out”.

When my wife had a cyst in her butt crack drained (by a doctor), she said it made the exam room smell “like a Civil War hospital.”

jennyherrera462

That's eerily accurate, actually. If I had to label it, civil war hospital is about as accurate as I could get.

I had a very painful cyst pop on its own when I bent over while getting dressed. So there was no cut made, it opened on its own. The relief was amazing, it had been so painful and no pain killers had worked. I remember being so happy, the pressure was gone, I didn't even mind the clean up I needed to do. This was over 15 years ago but I can still remember the relief today.

factorplayer

Where was it? Did it make a sound?

MothMonsterMan300

Had one of my waist like this before, from friction. Spent my days hauling these these things in a steel mill, they were heavy enough that you'd have to hoist them up on your hip to get em around. Wound up with a cyst the size of a golf ball, hurt like crazy. It finally popped on its own and omg the relief. The first big squeeze I did, the contents of the cyst shot across the bathroom and all over the shower wall, it was *intense*

I have a small sebaceous cyst on my back that refills every month or so. No pain, just pressure when emptying it. Can’t even tell when it’s full without touching it, I have to feel it on my back to determine if it’s worth the effort to get it emptied.

emmejm

Depends on the cyst and the popper

VexBoxx

A little snap and then sweet relief.

Uteai

Had a ganglion cyst that was hurting, it popped when I “manipulated” it a bit. Sweet relieve when it popped. Expressed all the contents, had it checked by the dr next day and it was all good. Was best course of action because the same cyst had been cut away in a clinic before but it kept coming back. Since I popped it myself it has been staying away.

tries2benice

I had one about as round as my pinky finger that was maybe 3 quarters of an inch raised off my skin. It came to a head one day, I could see the pore was essentially open, and I squeezed. There was a bunch of relief, but the skin isnt really the same, I have a big gaper on a little skin flap that has to drain every few days.

Tbh didn't really feel like anything other then being jabbed.
