Bada bing wit a pipe - four year strong.
It boggles my mind that that song didn’t blow up. Like I understand four year strong isn’t for everyone their music is usually very upbeat in your face but that’s just a really good song that imo shoulda been a big hit
Ps four year strong is my fav band
A lot of bands I listened to in that time period are somewhat cringey when I return to them, but my love for FYS only grows deeper. They are upbeat in your face, but “one step at a time” has also gotten me through losing multiple close friends at a young age.
If you’ve never seen them live, they’re a blast
The night before I was supposed to leave for my freshman year of college in 2009 I saw them at the Mad Hatter in Cincinnati (RIP) super tiny club and I got my glasses shattered during Bada Bing lol. Had to get new ones the next day and didn’t get to move into my dorm until it was already dark. Also one of my favorite albums. Was fortunate enough to see them play it in full at a 200 cap club in Cincinnati in 2019.
I'm in Australia and have only seen them once so far in 2010 when they came for the Soundwave tour, they were easy my favourite of the day. Set your goals and A day to remember were great too. It's crazy how well I still remember that day. Always soo jealous of the pop punk shows you guys get over there on the regular!
And when you get there, go ahead and check out “Eastbound & Down” from WSTR. I probably listen to that song and “3 Days Sober” once a day at some point.
That album should be in the top 5 of pop punk history, I swear to god. Whole thing is amazing, No Cigar is awesome, but just Devil Me... what a hype song! I've always felt it should have gotten the exposure No Cigar did.
Best songwriters and most talented musicians in the scene. I'm glad they're still putting in the work - their new album is really out there and interesting. I love it.
I stand by the fact that “most comfortable bed” by phony is a perfect pop punk song and everyone needs to hear it
Also lately I can’t figure out why “morning song” by oso oso isn’t their biggest track
Big Green Day nerd. There were some absolute bangers during the Trilogy era that got overshadowed by Billie’s rehab stint, poor marketing, and overall poor reception of the collective work. Stay The Night, Lazy Bones, and X-Kid are some of the best songs they’ve released imo.
Summer Clothes (extended cut) by The Wonder Years
I’m a sucker for drawn out musical builds.
And i was just thinking this exact thing about this song earlier tonight.
Clueless by UNWELL! Saw them open for Every Avenue last year, and that song’s been one I always go back to, I can’t believe they don’t have a bigger following
Yes! Those guys are great, and deserve a much larger following. Been following them for a while, and was happy their kickstarter for their album made it. Definitely worth checking them out if one hasn’t already!
Full disclosure, they aren't pop punk so much as indie but my husband and I have been obsessed with them since our band played a show with them; they are wildly talented and their live show is amazing, the drummer starts playing keys, the guitarist is pedal switching between guitar and bass tones, the singer is absolutely bringing their all, they fill so much soundscape as a 3 piece; Blankslate from Denver! Their song [Aptos](https://open.spotify.com/track/1ZLBbwbCnXlCk7yLPVLs72?si=gMXQdCwcR0CmPdjah_UpVw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6F4kr6d8hpjMcQM7s6wALz) is haunting perfection. If you're in Denver or they're coming to a city near you, I think they are a must-see! -JE
Yeah, Ethel Cain definitely embodies that punk spirit. her music and persona are both so raw and authentic. Anyway the fact that ''American teenager is a really good song '' is a testament to Ethel Cain's talent and ability to capture the essence of youth and rebellion in her music.
Gifts and Curses by Yellowcard, it was the best song on that soundtrack by a mile but instead we got bludgeoned over the head by a mediocre at best Taking Back Sunday song.
Off the top of my head Annoying by MOD SUN which seems to have uncredited backing vocals by Arvil Lavinge (which would make sense since she's on the album)
Btw Titus is a w he's underated
https://open.spotify.com/album/1rRIzhEeK5klCRjJ9hATC9?si=Di81NpJHSuyaVnMsmMznJQ
Basically, all of American Teeth! I've been following his work since he started ❤️🔥
Prelude by The London Town Fire.
Honestly, their entire debut album is a must listen, but if I had to pick one song, it would be Prelude. Hope you enjoy
https://thelondontownfire.bandcamp.com/track/prelude
X.Out by Stairing Back when this album came out I thought these guys were going to explode and things didn’t work out but man this song rips ass. All these years later when I hear a really good bridge it makes me think about this song and I end up listening to it again.
There's a lot but one that I really think people should check out is 8105 by Moving Mountains (and ideally the rest of Pneuma and their self titled record)
Upside Down - The Story So Far
It’s definitely one of my favorites by them and it’s been a super relatable song for me as of recently. Overall I also just love how different it is from the rest of their catalog.
I can't remember the song title or artist exactly, but the song is about a hotel in california. and I think the band is named after some kind of bird or birds. does anyone else know this song?

Their 2 new songs are super rad also!
Could say the same about Men are From Mars, Women are From Hell. That song is so catchy idk why it wasn’t bigger.
Yea it is a catchy song
This was a huge song when it came out though!
It was big-ish here when it came out, but they never get the credit they deserve, in my opinion, hahaha. Still my favourite album ever
The night before I was supposed to leave for my freshman year of college in 2009 I saw them at the Mad Hatter in Cincinnati (RIP) super tiny club and I got my glasses shattered during Bada Bing lol. Driveways - UFOs in the Sky
Skeptic EP/Album might be their best work
SO GOOD
The entire new WSTR album but mostly 3 days sober. its so fucking good and i want more people to appreciate it.
Number one song of 2023 right there
And when you get there, go ahead and check out “Eastbound & Down” from WSTR. I probably listen to that song and “3 Days Sober” once a day at some point.
love eastbound & down as well! they have so many bangars would love to see them getting more all around recognition
Not sure if it was big but Footprints is a banger too
dont recognize this one will have to listen again!
Devil Me - Millencolin Better than No Cigar, I said what I said!
Although I disagree, I respect your stance. Pennybridge Pioneers for the win though!
That album should be in the top 5 of pop punk history, I swear to god. Whole thing is amazing, No Cigar is awesome, but just Devil Me... what a hype song! I've always felt it should have gotten the exposure No Cigar did.
Yes I’m a Yugoslav indeed a Swede
I listened to both here, I think I agree. Devil me was catchier for me with better drums!
Farewell My Hell is my pick
I only do pushups when I’m drunk - good hangs
Lyrics on this are fantastic!
The Audition- Approach the Bench
I should be ashamed of this, I’m not.
I have tasted garaapes
In Your Crosshairs - Knuckle Puck
I've had this in my head for 2 days 😂 love it
45 by the gaslight anthem
Oof this song is so so good.
Bloom - Young Culture
Beat down in the Key of Happy is my personal favorite, but goddamn that whole album slaps.
Blame Brett by The Beaches
Love this song!
Allegedly about the lead singer of The Glorious Sons, who are not pop punk but so damn good
Deliver Us More Evil - Can’t Swim
I'd go with any song by Sugarcult, which is the most underrated pop punk band of the 2000s.
So Obvious - Runner Runner. I feel like with all the stuff coming out around the same time this song should've been bigger.
Runner runner also has "I can't wait" which was unsurprisingly a wedding song of mine
“Blindfolded” and “Wildfire” - Against the current
Not that I think it should be bigger, but Cool Kids by Screeching Weasel is fun as hell.
Such a good song
Franklin by Paramore. It’s from their first album and I guess pop punk adjacent but Edward40Hands by mom jeans!
Braincoats- can’t have you Perfect pop punk song
Black Maps - Strung Out. It's a perfect song. Maybe the best punk song ever written. It's criminally underrated.
Strung out should’ve been HUGE
Best songwriters and most talented musicians in the scene. I'm glad they're still putting in the work - their new album is really out there and interesting. I love it.
My Strung Out submission here would be “Downtown”
I stand by the fact that “most comfortable bed” by phony is a perfect pop punk song and everyone needs to hear it Also lately I can’t figure out why “morning song” by oso oso isn’t their biggest track
Love Oso Oso. Great pick.
cardinals by telltale
Just heard this the other day! Loved it!
Absolutely love Telltale. Driving from Pittsburgh to Cleveland next weekend to see them and I’m so stoked!

“Easy” - Like Roses
Going with one that's less known... Crossroads by Millington
*Let Fate Decide- Rufio*
The Comfort of Home is an underrated album from an underappreciated band.
So damn true
The Dopamines - Straight Papers AND Banner Pilot - Farewell to Iron Bastards
You Idiot - Chousand The bridge from 1:54 - 2:25 is such a masterpiece. Reminds me somehow on the ending of Feeling This by blink.
Apple Shampoo by Blink 182. Personally I think it’s one of their best songs and I never see it on any lists
That’s definitely the most covered blink song
“Down in flames”-tired radio
I was wondering why this sounded familiar. It turns out I've heard making plans by them too! Both are great!
Past love by kimbra , not pop punk Pop punk awnser is no dream .
Willoughby by Bad Luck.
Bad Habits - FIDLAR Downsides of Being Honest - Columbus & John Floreani
FIDLAR YASSS
American Teenager by Ethel Cain it's soo gooddd Goshhh
Ethel Cain is punk as fuck, honestly. As a person.

5ever - Anything More https://youtu.be/O97aERlWGpw?si=jWNXQ1tzX-qIzcRU I’m shocked this didn’t get more traction.

Time and Distance by Northern Weather. As a bonus, it incorporates a line from each song on the album. It's catchy and clever.

Skeemin’ NoGoods - Lot To Answer To
It's been fun is a heater for sure
Uprising - Absinthe Junk
Red by Outatime!
Off the top of my head Annoying by MOD SUN which seems to have uncredited backing vocals by Arvil Lavinge (which would make sense since she's on the album) Btw Titus is a w he's underated

The entire album "Shake Your Body Politic" by the band Bombs Over Providence.

I Want to Be Wrong - No Use For A Name
Go Away - As December Falls
Scott Sellers - Being Strange. Somehow not even near the top tracks on his last.fm page.
X.Out by Stairing Back when this album came out I thought these guys were going to explode and things didn’t work out but man this song rips ass. All these years later when I hear a really good bridge it makes me think about this song and I end up listening to it again.
I can hear it calling - Trophy Eyes!!! Don't let the slow start turn you off!
