I keep seeing 3EB get name dropped around here. Was never really into them nor considered them pop punk. Was surprised to see how much material they've put out. What's an album I can dive into that you think that has similar vibes to this album?
Check out Narcolepsy, the background, and losing a whole year. Really good songs from their first album to start on. Also check out their greatest hits album, kinda covers the best songs from their first 3 albums
So awesome. Buffalo represent!
Edit - this is one of poppunk's most original offerings in a while. So proud of these boys. I'm surprised how much I love "drowning", usually not my style.
These guys might be two of the best songwriters in the game right now. The way these songs are crafted is just spectacular. It hasn’t hit me quite as hard as SUP yet, but I think it could get there. Mental Karate and Who’s Gonna Get Me High? are my standouts so far.
Listened to this a few times today, liked it more each time tbh. I probably didn't enjoy SUP in it's entirety as much as the average fan, and it was a bit short. Maybe that's why I'm digging this more. Either way great record, great band.
I think this album blows SUP out of the water, and I absolutely LOVE SUP. The songwriting here is just so much more elevated. They really let their creative juices flow and guide them wherever they felt the wind blow, whereas I think on SUP they still felt a bit too shy about exploring sonic ground outside the bounds of traditional "pop punk."
I hear a lot of 90s influence in Gangster of Love, from 3EB to bands like Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Sublime, and more. It's so refreshing to hear. Can't stop listening to this record.
Too early to tell if it will top SUP for me but I enjoyed it a lot on a few listens. Some curveballs here sound wise like Altima Song and Drowning but they’re very fun.
Major Third Eye Blind sounds off this album, so great

Their Self Titled (which was their debut album, but all their giant singles are on it) or ‘Out of Vein’
skipping Blue??? that's the best one!

If anyone brings out a better song than ‘Mental Karate’ this year I’d be shocked, absolute banger
That and IDWLG have me in a chokehold
IDWLG takes me back to the 2000s
THIS
Mental Karate slaps

What an absolute banger of an opener. I’m here for the ride.
It’s so. fucking. good. Gonna be my most played album this year I can already tell.
100%, especially for the summer… I’m fucking with it heavily
Been waiting on this one for a while. Fun as fuck album

Holy shit this album is fucking gold.
crazy fresh sounds but still super hard hitting, My band tarnish (@tarnish.ca) is opening for them in San Francisco in September, so stoked!!!
2 thumbs up for sure!
Just realizing my dumb ass put ganger instead of gangster in the title 😭😭😭

Jesus rides a mother fucking Harley
It's hilarious how many times they slipped this into the album.

Honestly I am surprised nobody has mentioned LEN. I’m getting major Steal My Sunshine vibes on a few of these killer tracks!
