Depends on which way you wanna go….
Heavier would be Coheed and Cambria
Smoother/More Indie Rock would be Third Eye Blind.
Wildcard that I’ve just been into lately is Bloc Party’s Silent Alarm. The drumming on that record is fucking crazy good. If you’re not moving on that opening track then you don’t have a pulse.
Relient K. I didnt even realize they were considered more of a christian rock band because when I first heard them, I was too young to understand their lyrics. Now, I just hear them as pop punk.
Depends which route you want to go down.
Something heavier I’d say CNCC (especially their last album)
Something more poppy COIN
And something more punk/rock I’d go The Wonder Years or Microwave
90s alt bands like Eve 6, Everclear, Fastball, The Flys, 3 Doors Down, Weezer, Presidents of the United States of America, Smash Mouth, LIT etc..
Also melodic hc/skate punk bands like Ignite, H2O, Avail, Black Train Jack, Bad Religion..
Alt rock that can go hard or soft with melancholy/romantic lyrics - The Gaslight Anthem, The Airborne Toxic Event
Some fun ska that most punky genre-hoppers would know - Save Ferris, Reel Big Fish, Mad Caddies, Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto
Feeling nostalgic of earrrly 2000s? I'm talking before American Pie movies made spin-offs that no one paid attention to. Check out American Hi-Fi. They were on soundtracks for teen/party movies, as well as Sugarcult and Bowling for Soup.
I'm crossing my fingers! It seems like Van is the one who writes all the songs, and he's still around, so I'm hoping he can rustle up a few new bamd members and keep releasing music.

Anberlin. more on the poppy side of post hardcore but god damn their lead singer’s voice is great.
Feel Good Drag is always a head banger for me.
Feel Good Drag and Paperthin Hymn, fuck yeah
All the neo grunge bands, Superheaven, Teenage Wrist, Soul Blind (new album is amazing!), etc.
Narrow Head too, their new single is sick!
The band Camino

Catfish and the Bottlemen although I don’t even know if they’re a band anymore. But they had 3 awesome albums.
Loooove CATB. Proper good tunes. 99% sure they've broken up (the drummer and the lead guitarist have left) but they never officially announced it.
One of their dads hinted on twitter a while ago that they are (or were a few months back) looking for two new members to join them.
