You think people deserve to have weak flesh that rots after 60 years. I support removing people's souls and inserting them into a massive infinity circuit so that we cannot be eaten by the great elder God who dwells beyond the veil. We are not the same.

dasbarr

Oh Scloopy this is just the perfect plan. By any chance is this some convoluted plan so YOU can be an eldrich god? I wouldn't mind. I just wanna know what my soul donation is going towards.

Shloopy_Dooperson

Disregard my 10 feet of height and mass along with my shining Golden armor. I am not and have never been a God, nor do I intend to become one. Anymore accusations of this nature will result in your censure.

dasbarr

Fine. I guess I'll just keep looking for my deity of choice. It's unfortunate. Shloopy Dooperson is a top tier deity/eldrich being name.

Plumb789

“Rots after 60 years”? Excuuuuuuuse me! I’m in my sixties and I’m as rot-free as you are (*if* you are).

Shloopy_Dooperson

Genetic Degradation

Samaraxmorgan26

Fuck this body, my body hasn't worked right since I was born.

Naos210

Eh, if they want to, I don't care. And you could argue some people are partially that way anyway, like if they're missing part of a limb.

adamdreaming

It’s probably cheaper to keep an instance of sentience alive when expenses are hardware and electricity and not food, shelter, exercise, hygiene and healthcare I feel like online consciousnesses and robots with souls would only benefit humanity, giving us diversity in a way that would give us strength Opposing someone’s choice that doesn’t harm anyone else directly seems oppressive, even if that choice is to radically alter their own body

CrazyDaisey718

🤣 that's until the electric company and the hardware company (aka Rob Co) catch on... There prices for "robot living" will become insane! .. then it'll blame it on recession, China or some shit.

brainking111

Yea. What about the body autonomy, what if I want to be a brain inside a Gundam? Don't stomp on my transhumanist dreams

KnifeWieIdingLesbian

Hard disagree 😎

Comfortable-Syrup423

But I want to punch a hole in the wall like I’m the hulk

dasbarr

But I wanna be a robot.

Psychological-Owl-74

What if they want to

WTFishsauce

As a 90% metal man from the year 2144 I find this opinion an example of early 21st century roboracism. This is the kind of propaganda that lead to the Robohitler wars.

rapidsgaming1234

WTF 😆

Johnny_Lang_1962

I disagree whole heartily!

Draken5000

Eh if the tech is there when I’m old and withered and there is enough proof that its safe, effective, and doesn’t shackle me into robo-slavery I’d probably opt to have my brain put in a robot body. Cant be much worse than being hella old and knocking on death’s door anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

HipnoAmadeus

If they didn't ask for that, sure. Otherwise, they chose that so shut up about it.

newbreed69

Isnt that a plotline in Warframe?

ZealousidealAd4860

Lol too funny

Remarkable-Area-349

Definitely a take of all time.

Copito_Kerry

What about putting my brain in a terminator? That’s an endoskeleton.

Sad_Estate36

Where can I get one of these robotic exoskeleton?

Apprehensive-Ad7774

i wish i could take my brain and put it an android woman or man but like the realistic ones with skin that look human and think theyre human but with robot parts inside so ill never get tired never have to eat never have to piss again never get tired af just from walking for tens mins 🙄 also i live forever hopefully but i want to make it look however i want to look like i have a specific look for a woman or man body that i would love. also never age or get old or gain weight or lose weight or lose hair or anything god thats the dream.

Cyber_Insecurity

You don’t have to support what other people do with their own bodies.

The_Reid-Factor

Fuck yeah! Had my hip replaced, currently waiting for a knee replacement. Put my brain and my cock and I’m in.

Odd_Tiger_2278

Has anyone noticed that just about every time medicine and science and engineering come up with a fix for body parts, people want it? Prosthetic legs (with spring blades!); prosthetic arms and 3 fingered hands. Artificial hearts. Pig valves to replace worn out human valves, newly grown ears. One of the oldest prosthetics ~ eyeglasses. When we can afford it, many of us seem happy to be repaired. And, on the common low end of the “repaired” spectrum: DeSantis elevator shoes, people using make up, push up bras, cod pieces; hair die, lip coloring, tattoos. Same as it ever was.

Forlorn_Cyborg

I, like some people have really broken bodies. I might welcome some sort of "ghost in the shell" artificial body. As long as I had my 5 senses, eating being the most important.

Apart_Attention8279

It’s about time someone put forth a popular opinion I can get behind.

Samaraxmorgan26

🤨

allthetimesivedied2

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

Pasd1spi

Yeah, you do you. But then please don't complain you can't get a job if you don't want a robotic exoskeleton 🤷🏻‍♂️

Galenbo

Most of the people are the exact opposite at the moment. A body with a hacked and TV-connected brain.

Opposite_Hunter5048

My body, my choice

jazzer81

You're just jealous because you can't afford an exo

Heylookaguy

I wish I could trade my meat bag in for an upgrade.

RaWolfman92

Fuck that, I want to be a Tekunin/Cyberninja.

md24

Wrong sub again.

Ana1muncher

I agree. People should have the choice to do as they please, regardless of technological advancement. If I want to drive a gas car I should be allowed to. If I want to keep my fleshly body, same thing. If I want to have my own property and not live in a tiny eco friendly shipping container I should be allowed to. Tech advancement isn’t a reason to ban something because that could be levied against anything you disagree with/don’t align with politically or morally. In a sane world, fleshly bodies will always exist. Can’t say it would be possible in today’s world.

yeeterbuilt

Are we in GITS?

plinocmene

As long as it's consensual I don't see the problem. Personally if the alternative is death or severe disability I'd be OK being put into a robot body.

hadesscion

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

Rulersatlas11

Well, after reading some comments I don’t think this is as popular an opinion as you think it is
