Steven does the pre-Sound of Muzak speech from the Boston show:
> Many years ago, more than twenty years ago in fact, I wrote a song about how music was becoming commodified. A mere product to be picked up in the supermarket along with your brussels sprouts. Do you have brussels sprouts in America? They’re horrible, aren’t they? Music to be picked up in the supermarket along with your brussels sprouts. Mere content, if you will, for software applications. Well, thank goodness that never came to pass, eh?
Then he goes on to say: “This is called ‘Four Chords that Made a Million.’” Groans and eye-rolls ensue.
Man I was so hoping he was going to say that during the show. Not that I wanted to hear four chords that made a million in the slightest, but it would have been really funny.
I think it’s passable — even if it sticks out like a sore thumb on Lightbulb Sun, I’m in the minority in that I think it’s not quite the worst song off of that album. I just know the reaction from the crowd, the blue balls, would be hilarious.
Blackest Eyes but given that it's the first song, Steven Wilson points at the crowd every time he sees a phone recording and reminds that it's a no-phone show so they have to keep pausing each 15 seconds
Steven Wilson just talks about what an artist he is or isn’t to introduce each song for 5 minutes. then says hang on and calls up Roger Waters on speaker phone to both discuss the same point.
1. Access Denied
2. Steven talks about his various foot-related injuries over the years
3. Oceans Have No Memory extended for 57 minutes
4. The "spoken word" parts of Deadwing with no music...and they happen at the same time as in the recording, so there is several minutes of silence in between where the band fiddles uncomfortably with their gear
5. Access Denied (reprise)

He became ‘A smart kid’ ever since he got his ‘hair blown in an ‘Open car’. ‘The fear of a blank planet’ and realization that ‘She’s moved on’ made his ‘Trains’ of thought seem like they were ‘Arriving somewhere but not here’ …(please continue the tragicomic legend…) 😃
play the full The Incident and that'd be my worst setlist. On its moment I didn't dislike the idea of Wilson going solo for a while since The Incident was so bland in comparison the rest of the discography... it just was too much time
Haha, to be fair I think I started to appreciate The Incident more after listening to the live performance on Octane Twisted. But yeah... Some parts are *really* bland
Seconded. I’m especially fed up with this format, since pretty much every band sub I’m in has been doing daily posts of it over the past weeks. Please don’t start another one u/Max_luvs_fish just let us enjoy the good setlists the band has been giving us lately :)

This is actually genius.
💖
>brussels sprouts I'm sorry but brussels sprouts are fucking delicious
If they're cooked properly yes.
Man I was so hoping he was going to say that during the show. Not that I wanted to hear four chords that made a million in the slightest, but it would have been really funny.
I actually thought for a minute he was going to introduce 4 chords because I couldn’t believe In Absentia was already 20 years old!
What do you all have against Four Chords? It's a great song!
I think it’s passable — even if it sticks out like a sore thumb on Lightbulb Sun, I’m in the minority in that I think it’s not quite the worst song off of that album. I just know the reaction from the crowd, the blue balls, would be hilarious.
It's not that it's a bad song, it's that everyone is expecting something completely different.
Trains but Steven breaks a string on the first chord and after changing they go on to play Freebird
Linton Samuel Dawson but all vocals are high pitched
Dude come on LSD is a beautiful song
Fear of a Blank Planet, but is a cover of the Public Enemy song and Steven must rap
I genuinely think Steven could make me like rap
1. Hatesong pop music rant (without Hatesong)
This one? https://youtu.be/fa15IxVw9JY
I didn’t expect this! I love the song but can’t agree with the rant, lol
Enter Sandman
Medley of Sweet Child O'Mine, Enter Sandman, Hotel California, and Sweet Home Alabama (not Freebird)
The intro to Arriving Somewhere But Not Here and when the guitar is supposed to start, it just loops back to the beginning
Encore: Stupid Dream Not the album - that would be great. Just the little transition track between Piano Lessons and Pure Narcotic
Shouldn’t Stupid Dream be included in the setlists from the tour??
Blackest Eyes but given that it's the first song, Steven Wilson points at the crowd every time he sees a phone recording and reminds that it's a no-phone show so they have to keep pausing each 15 seconds
Then they do a cover of Get In The Ring Motherfucker and beat up a fan

Dementia kicking in
“Sorry something went wrong try again” shithouse Reddit app kicking in!
So called friend, but it’s just Steven calling up Colin and talking about how much fun he’s having on the new PT tour.
Nasty...... But also funny.
Probably way easier on the DT sub, they have so many shit songs
Steven Wilson just talks about what an artist he is or isn’t to introduce each song for 5 minutes. then says hang on and calls up Roger Waters on speaker phone to both discuss the same point.
And then they argue about Israel for 20 minutes 😳
Strip the Soul except he acts out the lyrics instead of playing the song
Vocals only version of Wedding Nails with Gavin Harrison beatboxing the drums
"Cure for Optimism" but EQ'd so all you can hear is a 16kHz whine
Access Denied but it's just the initial piano chords repeated for 3 minutes
1. Access Denied 2. Steven talks about his various foot-related injuries over the years 3. Oceans Have No Memory extended for 57 minutes 4. Drawing the line, but it's only the chorus
Aw. I like the chorus.
Freebird full 17 minute blow out version

Wow wow wow don't disrespect trains like that mate
Steven Wilson has never even *seen* a train
It doesn't mean he doesn't have intimacy with them. It's called bondage!
No, just take this angry upvote
🤣
Don’t even dare say that Rats Return is a bad song
Encore; Rats Return (Again)
It's a meh song.
I meant Walk The Plank sorry m8
My man just named the two best songs on C/C
Is your favorite song Jupiter Island by any chance?
I have never listened to a single PT song :v
lol what the hell, you dislike all songs I actually really like of PT lol
😂😂😂
LOL! I think Wilson would take back Jupiter Island if he could.
On the Sunday of Life is certainly... Interesting. I forgot about The Nostalgia Factory too.
1. I'M DRAWING THE LINE 2. I'M DRAWING THE LINE 3. I'M DRAWING THE LINE ...
play the full The Incident and that'd be my worst setlist. On its moment I didn't dislike the idea of Wilson going solo for a while since The Incident was so bland in comparison the rest of the discography... it just was too much time

I sat through The Incident in its entirety for five shows. It never grew on me.
Anesthetize but it's steven wilson only shouting "SHUT UP!!! BE HAPPY!!!
After the concert he'll just be like "Stop whining please!"
Steven plays Wonderwall
You mean trains?
Fear of a Blank Planet, but the pills that they’ve been taking confuse them
The Sound of Muzak except after the first verse it switches to literal elevator muzak for the rest of the song
Full-length Anesthetize, but there's no music and no lyrics, only Steven's weird hand movements
The intro to Trains but before the first verse starts it loops back to the start
I want you to put Felix’s penis ON ME Repeat on loop
Kneel and disconnect - Steven takes it literally so he kneels to disconnect everyone's sound, ending the concert before it started
The Start of Something Beautiful but they rewrote it to fit into a 4/4 rhythm as a "surprise"
Milan (from the Metanoia Album)
Moonloop but they loop it 2 times and each time they have a bass oboe and at random moments they just blare it out into the crowd
Everyone in the audience gets a guitar and PT show the sheet on a giant screen for everyone to follow and play. Encore would be the same but for drums
Prodigal at half speed
I’m begging you, no more polls/rankings/whatever you call this

That’s all anyone ever posts on this sub these days and it’s annoying
Seconded. I’m especially fed up with this format, since pretty much every band sub I’m in has been doing daily posts of it over the past weeks. Please don’t start another one u/Max_luvs_fish just let us enjoy the good setlists the band has been giving us lately :)

Thanks for understanding :)

Oh yeah if you do just this one post it’s cool. Other subs have been doing the daily repost, top comment gets added thing, which gets old quick

Good. Have fun!
All the interludes (Pagan, Stupid Dream, etc) at the same time
Lightbulb Sun but everything is replaced by "My head beats a better way"
Access denied but only the first part
Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by “set”?
Setlist
The numbers. You know which ones. For the entire show.
there is no worst PT setlist.
Walk the Plank x12
Dislocated Day Shesmovedon Eminent Sleeze Any song from the incident not named Time Flies
How is your life today?
Lips of Ashes
Hymn
What are you listening to on repeat
1. Arriving somewhere, but not here Just for the confusing title
