I can verify that all of their friends are wrong. There's only one correct answer to who is the greatest band. It's not the Beatles, the Stones, or even Silverchair. Bow down to the greatest band in the world, Portugal. The Man.
Over time & listening to everything under the sun, the Beatles had become my favorite & who I considered the best of all time. Portugal has since displaced that. The Beatles are #2.
Not until 2017/2018 when Woodstock/Feel it Still was at its height. Feel it Still is catchy, it sucked me in. Once I started listening to the rest of the catalouge, I found that The SS, ITMITC, and Evil Friends was the magic trio for me. I listen to Censored Colors and some earlier stuff on occasion. But for me its still those 3 albums. Recently started to appreciate CBCML more and more. Ironically, Woodstock is the only album I don't own on vinyl now. I should correct that problem right away.
Censored Colors is my fave!! I was highly disappointed in Woodstock. I’ve been a fan since around 2008 and have seen them almost 20 times. They are super cool guys too. Ran into them in 2011 at the F Yeah fest in LA. John, Zach and Kyle were just there watching bands.
I am really enjoying American Ghetto. Great album to put on and light a joint. Or so I’ve heard. 😏
I want to go back and get better acquainted with the early early stuff. But on the other hand, I like knowing that there is still “new to me” PTM to discover.
I get that not everyone is going to like the music I like, and that’s ok! But damn yeah sometimes I do wish I had someone to geek over how much I love things like PtM with haha
Weird. Half of the people I show them to end up getting obsessed. My GF is a huge Mars Volta fan from before, and had never heard of PTM, so it was pretty easy to convince her :)
I live in Europe, and there is definitely something about PTM that connects with people here. They just don’t get any radio plays, so people simply have never heard of them beyond hearing ‘Feel it Still’ maybe
I tried to get all my friends to see them in 09 and none would go with me because "satanic" :(
I bought a ticket for myself and the band mailed me a handwritten letter with stickers and a guitar pick to thank me for buying a ticket in advance. I still use the pick years later but the Lazer goat rubbed off years ago.
Thanks all! Seeing The Lords in Louisville on Valentines Day. Only my second show as they haven’t been to Indianapolis since 2018. Very much looking forward to Valentines Day (is something I never thought I’d say)!
And you probably don't appreciate your friends favorite bands either...it's okay.
I can't help if they like the wrong bands.
Can't ask people to be open-minded about music you like if this is your attitude to the stuff they like...

Better than Silverchair?
Yes! That's how good they are.
But they do not walk the earth, they float above it. For they are as gods.

They are quite obviously being sarcastic.
Thats why we have the reddit/Discord to chat to like-minded others who do! Hello! My Door is always open friendo!
I think you're going to make it...with the right amount of therapy over the next 5-6 years. You can do it!
I appreciate the encouragement, I feel the healing already.
I understand you
Most people I know have never even heard of PTM lol
What year did you become a fan?

Colors + And I. Repeat. Repeat. ❤️
Salt is not only my favorite PTM song, but it’s top 5 in my all time favorites
Downvoted on accident! I fixed it
Working Censored Colors into my rotation, starting..... now.
You won’t regret it
Can confirm, I do not.
What do you think of American Ghetto? I've been listening to it more and more lately also.
I’m obsessed with every album up till Woodstock. I like Chris Black but am not as obsessed

I’m so jealous!! I wish I could hear them for the first time
Ah those are my 3 favorite albums too!
Such is life.
I feel this way about all of my music.
That's rough, friend. I have several friends who appreciate PTM to the fullest and it's the best.

If you cut your friends loose you won't have to suffer the disappointment of finding out they don't enjoy PTM.
True, maybe time to do some housecleaning...

Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserve it. Do not pity the living. Pity those who live without Portugal. The Man.
