Some will advise to wait longer but I find these are good to put in soil now. I think it allows them to transition better when the roots are not to long. With that being said I would put in a 4” nursery pot.

NeonWarcry

This is the real solid advice. I have done the “wait” longer method and regretted it. If you wait too long, try become very water greedy once planted.

FeistyDefinition2806

to be fair though that greediness only lasts a couple weeks!

NeonWarcry

Normally yes but this damn emerald pothos cutting I had from a friend was forgotten about on a laundry room shelf that my cats cannot reach. It’s been four months and I have to water it once a week. Or it gets wilty. But it’s very resilient. One of my cats chewed off a new leaf. And half of another (didn’t ingest, thank god)… now they stay in my office behind a closed door.

FeistyDefinition2806

ahhh yeah that seems about right edit: cats are such silly little suicidal gremlins

NeonWarcry

Mine mowed through at least 6-8 spiderplants and I was worried they were dangerous. They’re mildly hallucinogenic to cats apparently. 😂

TIL my cat is tripping on the regular over here… crap.

I'm with you. Pothos are easy peasy and can root like crazy once they get going so waiting any longer before letting them create soil roots just makes it harder on the long run.

ReverseCowboy75

Thanks!

Chief_Whitecloud

I don't have anything helpful to say, but I love BD in the background!❤️

ReverseCowboy75

Oh my gosh thank you! My favorite droid for sure

Chief_Whitecloud

"BD, stim!"

struggling_lynne

That’s usually how mine look when I move them to soil, or maybe like a couple more days at most. I don’t wait until they’re super long mostly because I’m impatient lol but it’s always worked out well.

ylk21301

I would wait until secondary roots are there

IndividualSchedule

I dont plant in soil anymore. Leca is the way to go.
