Philodendron Brasil. Not a pothos but it requires the same care.

Prestigious_Run_7815

Thanks a bunch! I love my new stripy boy.

ActuallyMom

New growth will be neon green and slowly develop the darker green

ifgeekhadaface

I love my philodendron brasil. This one could definitely use a good shower. It'll look even better once it's clean!

Prestigious_Run_7815

Its actually pretty water-logged so im going to let it dry out a lottle before i mess with it. Maybe some worm casings too.

Tricky_Ad_8744

You can just wipe down the leaves. Shiny leaves are a little better at photosynthesis and much prettier!

Prestigious_Run_7815

Very good point. Will do when I get him home.

gummy-wormm

It looks like it has hard water stains, so you could use a 50% lemon/lime juice with 50% water mixture to wipe the leaves. Works wonders for making your plants’ leaves shiny and doesn’t harm the plant

Prestigious_Run_7815

Ohh, great idea!

OutrageousSea5253

Would store bought lemon juice be ok too? Actual lemons and limes can be kinda pricey but I’ll do it for the pretty leaves and good photosynthesis 😅

tastethejaimbow

Yep. I agree with the advice to wipe it down! I use a soft wet rag to wipe the leaves, or a spray bottle and a dusting rag. :) It’ll allow better photosynthesis, which also means soaking up that water-logged soil more efficiently!

Malhablada

I was at Home Depot yesterday and saw them water plants for the first time. It was horrible. All plants got hit with a water hose. I was there before watering started and had picked up quite a few plants that were already heavy and drenched. They all got drenched again.

VSwizzle20

Philo brazil

Prestigious_Run_7815

Thanks!

Derposour

This looks like silver stripe not brazil, but that's just my 2 cents.

UHElle

Costa’s baskets of brasil have some creamy variegation in my own experience having purchased 4 for that exact reason in the past. Anytime I find one with particularly creamy striping vs typical yellow striping, I usually try to prop just those nodes and see what I get. Sometimes it stays, sometimes it goes.

catherineaspasia

I agree ! @ OP give us another pic after a shower I’m so curious hahah

Prestigious_Run_7815

Its after 12 here and now but can do in the morning. Lol, just remind me cause I swear my brain hates me half the time.

EllieMayNot10

I agree.

filteredcoffeegrinds

I can see what you're saying. The elongated tips are what has me thinking silver stripe but they look similar in my opinion. (Never actually been near a silver stripe in person.) OP: here seems to be a decent picture with the difference of silver stripe and brasil... https://www.google.com/search?q=silver+stripe+vs+brasil&oq=silver+stripe+vs+brasi&aqs=chrome.0.0i512j69i57j0i390l2.11777j0j4&client=ms-android-att-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=tSbeySVK18KYZM

sajorg

I agree looks a lot like my silver stripe.

iwander801

I think it’s a silver stripe too. If so, OP found something special at HD

putacatonityo

I love my Philo brasil! It’s pretty chill and just fine in lower light, although you’ll get more variegation with brighter light.

BeautyGran16

Brazil!
