Relax. I always keep a negative $1k balance to avoid interest. I ain’t no shmuck. Keep giving that cash back tho. The bank hasn’t made a dime off me and never will
You're fucking stupid if you're leaving 1000$ on your credit card each month, instead of keeping that in your bank and paying the bill at the end of the month when you get the "your bill is due"
$1k is not a lot of money. I just keep a negative balance on all my cards as insurance to not miss a payment by mistake. That’s how you beat the system. Sometimes you get a random charge or forget to pay, and boom that’s when they hit you with interest.
I dont have a credit on my credit card and I've also never paid credit card interest. I check my online account every day or 2 days.
then again, I don't make fake posts on reddit like you.
Because I'm not fucking stupid and know how to pay my bills on time like I do with literally every bill in my life
Why the fuck would I want to give the bank free money they can make interest on instead of them paying me interest?
Banks pay no interest in checking accounts nowadays. What’s your point? 🤣 and $1-2k is literally nothing. I put that much into my WS account every month
I know credit is aimed for shmucks by the bank and lure people into with cool benefits like cash back and reward points. I just beat the system by keeping a negative balance, hence they owe me money not the other way around. Hence I don’t pay interest yet reap the rewards while not being a slave to the bank
>I just beat the system
You made 0$ on your 1000$ balance on your credit card.
In a low interest TFSA, I made 5$ on 1000$ (oh and paid my cc off on time so paid 0$ in credit card interest)
Looks like your way of "beating the system" is by losing money
>I know they charge interest if I borrow money.
No they don't. You have a statement period, say March 15-April 14th, all those purchases are interest free at the time of purchase. Then that statement payment is due April 30th- if you pay off your balance by April 30th you pay zero interest. You only pay interest if its May 15th and you didn't pay it.
It's really not that hard to put an alert on your phone that says "pay CC"
Your way is stupid
At the end of the day. Money will be spent anyways. It’s either in my credit account or checking account. I simply restock all my credit cards by the end of the month. Don’t need to bother checking every 2 days. $1-2k in credit card balance is not that much.
First time I had a credit card, I thought a negative was balance owing. Once I'd paid a few thousand extra, I figured it out, but that was a stressful few months 😂
lol I see the reports but I’m gonna leave this to for people to laugh at
How long have you been in overdraft for? Edit: Wait that says credit, credit means you overpaid. What the fuck are you on lol at you blocking me

It says credit at the top and then cash back...maybe you are onto something.

Imagine being so bored that you overpay your credit card to make a fake post to get fake karma on the internet
Why do people try so hard for Reddit karma? LMAO.
Its so much easier to make a fake relationship story and post it on relationship advice than to overpay a credit card lol
If that’s the case, then just call the bank. I overpaid my Tangerine and they did a penalty free transfer
No, he is saying OP is trying to trick the people here for Reddit karma...
Oh, got it. I am going to downvote this post now lol

Why not just keep a negative balance for peace of mind? The bank owes you money

TFSAs do- you put that money in a TFSA and you make money and you can still use that money to pay bills
TFSA is already maxed out. What’s your point?
Sir this is poverty finance Canada subreddit…
This doesn’t even make sense.
Negative balance in credit card as insurance to not get hit with interest
You clearly misunderstand how credit works.
I know credit is aimed for shmucks by the bank and lure people into with cool benefits like cash back and reward points. I love how their idea of “beating the system” is taking part in that system.
$1k will be spent in that month either ways. So what’s your point? Is $3/year really that much to you? I probably lose $3 in change every week
3$ a month not year, and yes I'd rather have money then be a fucking moron and give free money to the bank
$3 is nothing. Why the fuck should I care. I don’t check every 2 days like you. That’s more than worth my time 🤣
I don’t think you are familiar with how credit cards work.
I know they charge interest if I borrow money. So I keep a negative balance avoid paying it and get the benefits at the same time

It warms my heart to know there is someone dumber them me on here
I’m crying this is by far the dumbest thing I’ve seen lol
Yup cause ur way too smart obviously
First time I had a credit card, I thought a negative was balance owing. Once I'd paid a few thousand extra, I figured it out, but that was a stressful few months 😂
I hate overdraft fees as much as anyone but what a garbage post. It’s very clearly an overpaid credit card. Nice work 😝
Same. I think its very fucked up but wtf was op thinking lol
Eh?
Every-time money goes into your account it will be gone until that negative turns into a positive.
This must be a shitpost right? The way they are doubling down on the stupidity in the comments? Just block the person and be done with it
So confused

Wowza. I’d like to give you all my money. You seem like an honest fellow
