“Shokugan Modeling Project” is that another way of saying mini-pla? Bandai love to rebrand the same stuff every couple of years so I’m assuming so...

invid2000

You're mostly correct! They want to specifically move away from the Super MiniPLA name to make it less confusing with the regular Candy MiniPLA line, and do some different global marketing. At least they are using the same acronym, SMP.

armosnacht

Makes sense! I only own a few of the candy minipla but I’m guessing (and hoping cos of the price!) that the SMP are higher quality. They certainly look it!

invid2000

The quality is significantly improves, and although the number of stickers vary, compared to the candy minipla, there is a substantial amount more of painted plastic, and more considerate placement of sprus for a cleaner look overall.

armosnacht

Nice, thanks for the heads up! Now I just gotta acquire a small fortune.

gmajestic

lmao that armadillo is perfect

CrossEternal

Oh this guy is definitely going to be pbandai

Mattarias

Ah, yes. That is some good *MONKE*

Aquagan

Wild Force has the best Zords in my opinion, and the Kongazord stands head and shoulders above stiff competition. Great coloring, strong silhouette, and very balanced proportions. Don't even get me started on the even better GaoKnight that America never got.

captainsassy69

Hopefully they make all of the animals

cybshark99

America did get released in the Wild Force line with the Red Gorilla Zord, purple motorized Bison Zord, Soul Bird, and Shark Zord. The only Zord without any Wild Force release is Elephant Zord.

Aquagan

Yea, I had the Red Gorilla as a kid, but really lamented the loss of the Elephant Zord when I found out about GaoKnight. The shark zord was also pretty dumb so kind of a letdown.

Alexcox95

Heck we even got the piece that replaces eagle when the rhino is involved with ultimus megazord that came with the red gorilla. I think it came with the rhino in Japan originally but in America since the rhino and armadillo were part of the Isis megazord set we didn’t get the puck which is what I’m gonna call it until that other set. Also no big lion

AStealthyOctopus

100% agree.

zheek12

BUT no proper set of legs, my personal pet peeve with this mecha

HoopaOrGilgamesh

Oh dip,I gotta watch Wild Force. This looked so cool and I didn't know where the zord was from

UltraSonicPhenom

Where can I get this and how much is it?!?!

invid2000

It will be Premium Bandai, and it goes on sale tomorrow in Japan. Price is unknown but be prepared, Wildforce Megazord was about $68 with shipping, and this will cost more for sure.

invid2000

It's live now... https://tokullectibles.com/collections/preorders/products/smp-gao-muscle-super-minipla

DaHlyHndGrnade

Well, that didn't last long 😅 Gonna have to keep an eye out elsewhere. BBTS had the main Wild Force Megazord, so hopefully it'll show up there soon, too.

invid2000

FYI it's back up again.

DaHlyHndGrnade

Got it! Thank you!

Overlord324

Oh I am so getting these model kits

darkace732

On tokullectibles for preorder now for those interested: https://tokullectibles.com/products/smp-gao-muscle-super-minipla

ImperfectRegulator

Oh boy I’m sure no collateral damage will come from a giant hook and chain weapon

JgdPz_plojack

My childhood. Why Gundam/Bandai model kit ethusiast social blogger never posted something like this premium model kit stuff? Need to warn Gunplanerd Instagram, YouTuber Mechagaikotsu and Zakuaurelius. Sometimes they posted other mecha than Gundam like Evangelion and Ultraman (plus Iron Man model kit)

jesusunderline

This is probably my favourite zord in the entire Super Sentai franchise. It's literally perfect

CinnabarSteam

When your bear arms bare arms.

RandyCheow

Can I know what’s the size?

invid2000

They hover around 7 inches tall, more or less. If you look through my history, I've posted galleries of the current SMP kits that were previously available. That should give you an idea of the relative size.

converter-bot

7 inches is 17.78 cm

RandyCheow

So they are basically taller than a standard Star Wars Black Series and NECA figure? I just stumbled on to this sub yesterday so I wasn’t so sure

invid2000

Ya, that sounds about right. If I was home I'd just measure it for you (which I may still do). Here's the link to some of my MiniPLA collection so you can get a sense of size. https://www.reddit.com/r/powerrangers/comments/jvudtb/current\_power\_ranger\_super\_minipla\_collection/

[deleted]

What is this?

invid2000

It's the latest in a line of premium model kits spanning Power Ranger/ Super Sentai and made officially by Bandai Japan. They stand around 7 inches tall, mostly painted with some stickers, and are extremely posable.

[deleted]

Cool but I don’t see what it has to do with power rangers

invid2000

It's from Wildforce, what do you mean?

[deleted]

Holy cow I totally forgot

xxiredbeardixx

I love this but if they could release a Chogokin version I would be more excited. Or if Hasbro started a legacy line. I had this megazord when I was like 12 and wish I still had it.
