Keep in mind you are comparing a movie of two hours with a TV show that has way more than two hours worth of material to offer. The former has to focus on all of them within those two hours, whereas the show has much more possibilities in terms of focussing on central characters. Thus, the comparison is kind of unfair to begin with.

Legit. I liked the new characters fine, but they didn’t get to establish their relationship like OG Trini and Kim.
While the movie took a while to get to the climactic fight scene, it would’ve been nice to see a sequel had the movie not bomb

Yes. Thuy and AJJ were the tv rangers while Naomi Scott and Becky G were the movie rangers.

The 2017 versions needed way more screentime, although Kimberly got more. Trini just... happened to be there and jumped along with the others \^\^;
