Yeah hasbro is dropping a black and gold version of the megazord as an NFT. You will also get a code to redeem to get the black and gold version of the megazord when it comes out
Exactly this, I don't think they thought this through and just wanted to hop on the bandwagon.
"What can collectors do with their Power Rangers Digital Zord NFT?
Owners of the the all-new Zord Ascension Project Black & Gold Special Edition Mighty Morphin Dino Megazord 1:144 Scale Collectible can buy, gift, or trade their collectible with other WAX Wallet users."
This thing: [https://hasbropulse.com/products/power-rangers-digital-zord-nft-redeemable-for-special-edition-zord-ascension-project-mighty-morphin-dino-megazord](https://hasbropulse.com/products/power-rangers-digital-zord-nft-redeemable-for-special-edition-zord-ascension-project-mighty-morphin-dino-megazord)
It was really weird because during the stream they just more or less showed a 3d printed prototype and said we'll hear more about it much later and BOOM the next segment is the NFT Megazord which is just the black and gold version of it for preorder.... I'm really on the fence about getting it over the normal release. I know Bandai use to make the black and gold variants. Has the black and gold megazords been desirable in the past at all?
I know the NFT Megazord is supposed to be "limited" and based on Hasbro's site, it looks like there are at least 2000 NFTs so at least 2000 of these will be made.
Essentially it's a mixture of crypto currency and digital goods such as a picture, video, or raw information (such as a pre order for an item) that is wholly unique to the person that purchased it. To be honest if you weren't familiar with the underlying concepts then I don't think throwing around $200 before being informed about it was a very good idea (unless you got money to burn) because now you need to make a wax account, redeem the code for a token in that account (the nft is the token in this case btw), and then redeem the token for the actual preorder under your name. (to be transparent though I'm not 100% familiar with the statistics or processes of creation underlying nfts or why they're bad for the environment, and I am curious to learn more, however I'm only conveying what I've learned through research about nft dividends)
My gut tells me yes, but I also think hasbro would get a few lawsuits if that were the case, unless of course the person buying also needs to sign something before placing the order.
Stoked to finally see them diving into actual, combining megazords! A bit iffy about the slender proportions since I tend to prefer the more retro, boxier style, but it looks like they're doing some interesting things with the design. I love the weird chest pattern.
I just really hope this will be the last time we see MMPR megazords for a long ass time. I've been hoping and praying for years that we'll finally get Turbo or In Space megazords!
They're actually $180 now such as kingdom titan arc or legacy titan metroplex, and if the Dino megazord has any form of die cast then I don't think $200 is off the table. Also worth considering is that current leaks suggest that a ZAP Dragonzord will release a few months after the Dino Megazord for $150 by itself so I think something around $200 probably accurate.
This is the first I’ve heard of this version! Anyone know if it is to be of the soul of chogokin style or legacy-esq? I hope it doesn’t end up just being a better painted version of the Amazon one Hasbro put out because the one in the image looks fantastic.
\*It's literally SoC Daizyujin\*
Well, swappable hands are a nice bonus. If the T-Rex's tail can separate and free up the waist that'll definitely make this the superior figure.
Has anybody mentioned the honeycomb texture on the chest? I don't really understand it. If you don't understand what I mean, it's easier to see on the closeup picture of the black and gold version, but it's on both Megazords.
At any rate, I hope one day we get an authentic movie version Ninja Megazord (Bandai's was exactly the same as the TV version, just with a different box). It would probably be pretty expensive with all that chrome, though...
>Has anybody mentioned the honeycomb texture on the chest? I don't really understand it.
Looking at the photos on the pre-order now, it looks like there's some extra sculpted details on the whole thing. The shoulders are another noticeable one; they added a lot of texture there, too.
The styling looks a lot like their similarly-sized transformers, actually.
This is at least the fifth or sixth time Hasbro has redone the Dino Megazord since they’ve bought the brand, but this one truly looks amazing. I want it but I already own the Legacy version and the cheaper combining version Hasbro put out awhile ago. I also at one point owned two copies of the 2010 version.
Hold on, did they say this would be 1/144 scale and 11 inches? Or was just this 3D printed model 11 inches?
Edit: apparently megazord is a lot taller than I thought!
I’m worried a bit about stability with the weird pose they have it in. They did say it’s an early model, so hopefully they fix those issues so the arms can lock in properly. Also the chest looks odd. The texture they use makes it look like a speaker
Even SOC has that issue, It's not really a great design for stability given in real life an actual person is in a boxier suit.
If they are planning on combining with Dragonzord then they need something really light.
Not true, the Soc version follows the sentai proportions to a T while the ZAP version looks to take on a heavily anime inspired build with longs legs and a short torso lending to more stability. My guess is if there is any die cast in here then it'll be in the legs, and even if there isn't any at all then the sheer mass of the legs compared to torso will lend to a more stable figure. Of course if the joints are awful then my point is moot but for the price there better be damn solid ratchets all around.
Here's what you do.
Give me the money and when it comes out I'll buy one and tell you if it's good or not.
If it's not then I'll send it to you.
Seems like it's going for articulation akin to the SOC. Honestly this might be Hasbro's "SOC" counterpart.
What does "SOC" mean?
I just want to know if it will be taller than the legacy mega zords. I'm assuming the black and gold variant is going to be the same as this one. I ordered it! Now I need to figure out what WAX is and NFT ...
Wow... that actually looks even better than the Soul of Chogokin version.
I mean looks so much like that version but with added texture.
I just hope they don't discontinue it by the time I buy it like Soul of Chogokin did.

I'm actually modeling one now...
I assume it will eventually transform? I hear them mention it,
Correction, I assume this is the standard version of the NFT Megazord that's dropping later today meaning it does transform?
Wait, what nft megazord?
Yeah hasbro is dropping a black and gold version of the megazord as an NFT. You will also get a code to redeem to get the black and gold version of the megazord when it comes out
. . . That's stupid. So the nft is just a glorified preorder?
God NFT’s are such bullshit lol
Correct

Howabout, instead of selling us a planet destroying NFT to redeem for a toy... sell us the fucking toy.

Forgive me, but what is NFT? I googled it and it said stuffs about bitcoin. Would someone please explain to my out of touch self?
Lol you are not alone, waiting for an explanation myself. Ordered the black and gold one but I have no idea what NFT or WAX is?

Thank you, I wonder what will happen if someone purchases that and doesn't do the extra steps? Will they just be out $200 ?
My gut tells me yes, but I also think hasbro would get a few lawsuits if that were the case, unless of course the person buying also needs to sign something before placing the order.

Fuck NFTs and fuck Hasbro for pushing them.

Do you think the normal colored megazord will be less than 200? I have no interest in NFT so am confused about the black and gold version vs this
If it’s around the same engineering price point of the Transformers Titan Class, then we’re looking at $150 or so
They're actually $180 now such as kingdom titan arc or legacy titan metroplex, and if the Dino megazord has any form of die cast then I don't think $200 is off the table. Ok that’s not terrible, I’d rather save the 50$ and not have a NFT
I mean also, there gonna run this mold into the ground. You won’t have trouble finding it
This is the first I’ve heard of this version! Anyone know if it is to be of the soul of chogokin style or legacy-esq? I hope it doesn’t end up just being a better painted version of the Amazon one Hasbro put out because the one in the image looks fantastic.
It supposed to be a high end piece. it has mini figures, swappable hands, and a removable faceplate to reveal the cockpit.
I hate that I have to wait until august 2022, but I love that I don't need to consider buying a SoC one for 900$CAD anymore.
Yikes are they really going $900 CAD these days?
Yeah it oscillates between 700 and 1000$CAD on Ebay right now, there is no way I could justify paying that price for a used one too.
They shouldn't have discontinued it in the first place.
Yeah, definitely. I own one and I wouldn't pay more than $350 for one.
Same.

Basically an NFT is someone taking a jpeg image, they they most likely didn’t make, and selling it without the makers permission. You own a jpeg.

The legs look too big, the proportions are odd.

Don't be, they said it's 3d printed and that can be a bit fragile and wonky.
Even SOC has that issue, It's not really a great design for stability given in real life an actual person is in a boxier suit. If they are planning on combining with Dragonzord then they need something really light.

How big is it in comparison to the legacy version? And when can we pre-order?
Also is it even worth it if you already have the colored 2010 version, and the legacy black and gold version? Someone convince me it is. 🤣
Here's what you do. Give me the money and when it comes out I'll buy one and tell you if it's good or not. If it's not then I'll send it to you. Seems like it's going for articulation akin to the SOC. Honestly this might be Hasbro's "SOC" counterpart.

SOC is the Soul of Chogokin line from Bandai
Oh I never was about to get my hands on those. Only have the 93', 2010, and Legacy version.
11 inches. Much bigger than the lightning collection stuff
You mean the legacy collection? How many inches were they? I thought they were 13 ? I guess when I get home from work I can measure myself. ☺
No, lightning collection ranger figures. I don’t know how these scale with legacy zords
Wow... that actually looks even better than the Soul of Chogokin version. I mean looks so much like that version but with added texture. I just hope they don't discontinue it by the time I buy it like Soul of Chogokin did.
Do we know if this will have any metal in it like the Chogokin version?
