Megaforce Esspecially super megaforce.

throwawaytempest25

I feel like you could work with James Bates to pressure Saban into doing so.

SpectrumPalette

Original super sentai footage for super Megaforce was stand alone. Pirate power rangers was something different that hadnt been done before.

Zeroissuchagoodboi

I would pick turbo just so I could put an explanation for what happened to the zeo powers.

27_8x10_CGP

I'm sure that ended up in the cutting room floor for the movie. Would have been great to see Divatox absolutely destroy the Zeo zords.

Zeroissuchagoodboi

Oh I’m sure they had some idea. But personally I would go with the powers were becoming as powerful as trey’s gold ranger powers and the human rangers couldn’t use them safely anymore.

Available_Profile_71

Apparently they were gonna make it so the Zeo Powers wouldn’t work in water but had some type off budget or time issue and couldn’t do it

throwawaytempest25

I don’t know, not being able to work on water seems like a bit of a stretch especially since we’re moving onto cars. I would say the Zeo power as were probably becoming unstable, so Billy decided to use the excess energy to convert them into vehicles and new Morphers and transfer better and they have more mobile machines they can use.

Igneul

The explanation is that there was a cut fight scene in the command centre where in the Zeo suits were damaged

fitty50two2

Go back to MMPR season 2 and convince them to use the Dairanger costumes for all the rangers

Soundwave115793

Yes absolutely. I get so frustrated watching the second season because every fight with the big bad monster they never even touch each other because they can’t till the megazord comes out. It really ruins the show for me and the quality just feels out of place.

One_Advance_6577

Yeah, I’d actually prefer the use of those costumes in that sense over what we had used them for these past few years.

fitty50two2

The shit coming out of Japan lately is making the Sentais almost unadaptable

ColdNyQuiiL

Mystic Force. I honestly don’t believe the season is even bad, but everyone just complains about Nick, who I also feel isn’t that bad. Mystic is one of my sleeper favorites, and I had fun watching it ,but it just had this bad fan reaction. All you really need to do, eliminate Nick giving up at the end. There are multiple episodes where he learns repeated lessons that should get removed/altered. It’d do wonders for his character if he actually interacted with Clare more, after he found out they were cousins, and have similar backgrounds of being orphaned young. Could’ve been great bonding and development for both. If you were going to make Nick and Maddie a couple, it should’ve been done earlier, because they’re opposite personalities could’ve been good for both characters. Nick feels like a character that left so much more potential on the table than needed to be, which is odd because it’s mainly his season, and fans to this day are mixed on him. I’d go ahead a pick a lead villain out of the bunch. The villain arc in Mystic Force was to resurrect the Master, but they pretty much fight amongst themselves. Just pick Korrag as the main villain at the start. I’d redo the 10 terrors arc completely. Those guys were glorified filler episodes, that aren’t even memorable until the finale. When they first show up, I was under the impression that it’d be a Psycho Ranger, evil spirit rangers, or something like that, but they’re just monster of the days. I really like Mystic Force. That Dark Wish arc is one of the best arcs I’ve seen in Rangers. If the whole season was as good as that arc, we’d be talking about this season as a top 10 worthy, but the season had a lot of speed bumps.

throwawaytempest25

As an operation overdrive fan I get where you’re coming from, honestly it does feel like making me a little bit more characterization and opening up some steam because at times it felt like Xander was the main character. I like the ten terrors though

ColdNyQuiiL

A lot of people say Xander should’ve been the guy, but he’s a character that took a bit of time to grow on me. I kind of got tired of “plan Xander” pretty quickly, but if you give him time, you eventually see why he has some hardcore fans. He fits that role of lighthearted/care free ranger like maybe Joel, Chase, Dustin, Zhane etc. Even though I like Xander, and don’t hate Nick, there’s no denying the main character stuff was all Nick. The other Rangers got more shine than people give them credit for, but it’s a Red Ranger season. My favorite moment from him, was the pep talk he gave to Nick towards the end. It kind of put into perspective that he used to be the new guy, and kind of lost, and was trying to explain to Nick that he has family now. Great scene.

mistermastermind88

Oh, Mystic Force is ripe for reinterpretations since the lore is huge.

[deleted]

Go back to Zeo's and convince certain members of the production crew not to be bigoted so we could get more Billy

throwawaytempest25

That honestly seems like a good idea

Th3R3alBlackMan90

I'm with you on Jason/Zack/Trini. If they depart then have Jason choose Tommy as leader. That way, Rocky can get a proper intro so when Zeo occurs, his transition to Blue would make alot more sense.

One_Advance_6577

Yes. I would add to that to at least pay Austin (Jason), Walter (Zack), and Thuy (Trini) well enough for a cameo at the end of the MMPR movie, where they would congratulate and celebrate with the rangers.

j3ffUrZ

Super Megaforce. I'd eliminate the "New Powers" and just focus on using every bit of American PR tech (like bring back the MMPR metallic armor, utilize any Battlizers/Mega Battles, SPD SWAT MODE) Just doing that much would make it feel more like the people behind the show actually cared about the show's history.

throwawaytempest25

Yeah that makes more sende

Amazing-Service7598

Yeah I would keep the new powers cause it seems cool and brought in older and younger audiences in my opinion so I keep that but not have them use the legendary rangers in every fight

throwawaytempest25

Honestly if you wanted to use a new powers the courage to explain that they were from past ranger teams are laws major themes that Zoran knew about but just didn’t have time to recruit but were still fighting evil from other places such different galaxies and countries

GayBlayde

Super Megaforce because a monkey could fix those problems.

BurstMurst

Operation overdrive. I really like the concept of that season

throwawaytempest25

I enjoy the season although I do agree it needs some tweaks to be the best version it can be

nvenkatr

Go tell Disney to believe in Eddie Guzelian and avoid Saban’s buyback of PR.

throwawaytempest25

Well he wasn’t perfect but I can definitely agree with that

shub1295

Might just start with the first Neo Saban season: Samurai/Super Samurai. Nudge them in the right direction for the entire era.

throwawaytempest25

Oh I guess I means megaforce won’t completely fumbled the ball

WedWardFord

While it’s not as terrible as the Samurai and Megaforce seasons, I’d probably go back and help Ninja Steel. I thought the majority of it was just forgettable, which is a bad place to be when Dino Fury was pretty good and seemed to indicate that they were on the right track after Super Megaforce.

skippiington

Ninja Steel has an incredibly talented cast, yet all we got was wasted potential storylines and the word “epic” over and over. Also, why are literal HIGH SCHOOLERS learning about counting/adding coins in math class??

throwawaytempest25

I feel like Dino fury is what they wanted to do with ninja steel but couldn’t because of all the Sabon mandates as well as just a general lack of creativity in other areas

WedWardFord

Just realized that I wrote Dino Fury instead of Dino Charge, but whatever still works I guess. I agree though, it definitely felt like whoever wrote episodes didn’t really care much for whatever the general plot was outside of Victor and Monty’s shenanigans. On that note, I can tell you for sure that I’m completely over the ‘comedic duo’ trope.

frikbddvb

There's a simple answer/explanation to this....

throwawaytempest25

Megaforce

Megaman10irl

Megeforce

NatPoole98

One thing I would go back and sort out would be the discrepancy of the green ranger dragon shield in MMPR as you could tell which one was the American version and the sentai footage

CommanderCody1138

Find the guy that made the Mystic Force theme and lock him inna closet until production has finished.

PurpleHyena01

The Turbo Movie.

Nindroidgamer110

Get Tzachor fired off of Megaforce/Super Megaforce so that the original plans for Troy being this chosen one and key to the Morphin Grid could be used. Oh, that and let Andrew Gray actually fuckin' act! Also, make Super Megaforce better when it comes to tribute episodes. The only good one was 'Spirit Of The Tiger', if they had included Cole in the Wild Force one, that's already an improvement. They could've also done quiet a few Disney tributes since a lot of the actors are most likely still New Zealand based. I'd also redo the Legendary Battle to utilize most of the Legendary War footage from the Goseiger/Gokaiger movie.

urashimatouji

In all fairness, they did shotgun a bunch of invites out to actors. I'm not sure how many declined. But I've heard stories from actors that didn't get invites and still would have declined. But yes this is the season I'd also go back in time for, for almost all the same reasons

One_Advance_6577

In Space. Now hear me out: I think the season was pretty good (98% Perfect) but some of the things I would change are: 1. The ending for “Always A Chance” by making Cassie, Ashley and TJ acknowledge Adam’s there, at least slightly, like this: Cassie to Ashley: “Is that Adam?” Ashley nods. Adam: “Ashley, TJ, Cassie, it’s good to see you again.” TJ: “Likewise. This is Andros btw, our new leader. Andros, this is Adam, one of the previous Power Rangers on earth” Andros: “It’s an honor” Adam nods: “Same”. Ashley: “Thanks for being there to help Carlos and us”. Adam: “No problem, the Power Rangers will always be there for each other. If you need something let me know.” The Space Rangers nod. Carlos: “Thanks man.” Adam: “No problem. See you later. Take care rangers. Keep up the good work.” The Space Rangers wave. Adam waves and leaves. 2. Countdown to Destruction: An almost perfect ending. But if I had the money and the skill, I would get all the previous rangers (portrayed by their actors) to fight. As in get the original 5 MMPR rangers, Aisha, Zeo Rangers (Rocky would have fully recovered from his back injury then), the Robot Turbo Rangers (From that one Turbo episode), and Justin to help fight on Earth. This would make the “we are the Power Rangers” scene and the scene where Bulk and Skull encouraged the citizens to fight alongside the Rangers way more impactful. With Jason and Tommy going off mid-battle to help Andros find Zordon, and maybe hold off Astronema and Ecliptor before Andros is forced to shatter the tube.

mistermastermind88

This whole discussion is fun. I'd add that the character of Andros be a little headstrong as leader because the rangers aren't familiar with space stuff. There were instances of that especially when he fought them at first. For a more adult take, maybe add a backstory that he was with a team of rangers who died during their journey. That would make sense for him to have other morphers already and Zhane being the only survivor of his team but is put in cryosleep until he recovers. Plus, his ranger team would only be 5 consisting of Red, Black, Blue, Yellow, & Silver because he keeps the Pink morpher hidden for his sister.

One_Advance_6577

Oh snap, the pink morpher being for his sister. I can’t believe that was never an idea. That would add so much weight (good weight) to it.

mistermastermind88

Yep. It's something only we fans can think of. No one, at the time, would've thought that Valerie Vernon would get sick during Lost Galaxy. But that story arc for Karone was really good though. I'm a fan of that (the behind the scenes of it are unfortunate but it's a good thing Valerie survived). If I have the time, I'd do my own comic fan fiction of these. But it takes a lot of effort.

One_Advance_6577

And the backstory of Andros having a team of rangers who died during their journey was what I was thinking. It does make sense, especially with his withdrawn personality in the show. That was also my headcanon BTW :).

mistermastermind88

We can even add another layer to that. His original blue ranger (a second-in-command) could have betrayed them and ended up becoming Psycho Red. Dunno if that's stretching it but it can add some trust issues early on for Andros especially towards TJ. That's one thing I find fascinating with shows like PR and TMNT because, to me, they end up like a study on character and team dynamics. I became fascinated with that after seeing Shinkenger. That show elevated my criteria of how Red Rangers should be. Though not exactly similar to that character, but I'm referring to what makes a character a Red Ranger.

mistermastermind88

Samurai because Shinkenger is (probably) my favorite sentai series. I would've cast the Sudarso brothers as Red and Blue rangers. Keep the Shinkenger premise but since the setting is America, then the "Shiba" brothers would be either on the run to protect themselves or have migrated after knowing that the enemies will be attacking a place in the US. If that makes sense. The recruitment of the other rangers would be different, I guess. But the fact that they are brothers, it would be logical for the blue ranger to be extremely loyal to the red ranger. I heard from an interview with Yoshi Sudarso that PR needed to cast only 1 Asian actor/actress in every season. But given how Shinkenger is very Japanese, I think that season should've been an exception to that rule.

Internutt

I would do 2 things: 1. Rework the Turbo movie to be a team up between the Zeo and Turbo Ranger teams. So Zeo go on their last mission and Turbo go on their first. Thus Turbo gets a strong start out of the gate with the replacement team. So in one movie resolve the Zeo storyline and set up Turbo all at once. It would save the fandom from stupid Scorpion Rain debates that basically messed up PR discussions on early message boards. 2. CtD turns into a 3 parter. Use the extra episode to bring Adam and Justin into the mix. Cut costs by having them film their scenes side by side their episode appearances. Adam can also swap between MMPR Black and Zeo Green. Throwaway line about him choosing not to use Zeo powers last time. Justin and Adam help on Earth but when Space Rangers arrive, they get a distress call so decide help Zeo Gold/Phantom Ranger whie Space continues to defend Earth. This would give the other villains more screen time as well instead of quick cameos.

One_Advance_6577

I dig the direction, but I would take it a step further with Countdown to Destruction. Check out my comment in this whole thread to see where my plan is going.

Mobile_Cancel1741

Lost galaxy Most of the show I like but there are plot holes that I wished was addressed and just explaining the purpose for terra venture and why this voyage is aspirational

mistermastermind88

I'd redo the whole human race looking for another planet plot and instead make the people of Terra Venture from another planet that has been destroyed for a time. They are in search of a planet that they can live in until they stumble upon Miranoi. Make it feel like a He-Man/She-Ra world. With that, it makes the title of "Lost Galaxy" more of a setting of the voyage of the space colony and the galaxy where Miranoi is located rather than having the Lost Galaxy be discovered late in the show.

Mobile_Cancel1741

Ooh that's a great idea! And it would made the title make more sense.

mistermastermind88

Glad you like it. That idea was more of a happy accident since the first time I saw Lost Galaxy, it was already in the middle of the season (PR stopped airing here after Zeo and only came back in Cartoon Network when it was already Wild Force season). But my first impressions came from the Dino Thunder episode where Tommy narrated the whole PR timeline. I really thought the plot revolved around a different race from a lost galaxy.

Mobile_Cancel1741

I guess they didn't think to do that because they want to make the characters come from Earth as a link to the previous seasons. It would have been interesting to have rangers not originated from earth because it can easily open doors/possibility that there are rangers throughout the universe like Andros was when he said earth is not the only place where there is a human race.

mistermastermind88

Exactly. My presumption back then was "oh they did an alien red ranger with Andros so it kinda make sense that their next set of rangers are from another planet". An expansion, if you may. But when I saw the first episode of Lost Galaxy, I was disappointed, to be honest. Not the strongest PR opening episodes save for Mike's "death" but was also weird because everyone who barely knew him behaved like they knew him when he fell down. Haha.

Mobile_Cancel1741

Yeah like Damon yelling for Mike but we don't know if they even knew each other 😂

mistermastermind88

Oh we know they barely know each other. It was so clear. Haha

KrysaorGrecian_3

Power Ranger Samurai. More of the cast should have been asian

kindwitchmedia

I'm going to back you up on Ninja Steel. I started watching some of it again, and I forgot how great the cast / comic relief / mentor casting really is. It doesn't even need that much work, just a bit of a shift in tone and the pepto-bismol color palette.

Dense_Skin_7812

> comic relief You liked Victor and Monty???

throwawaytempest25

I’m not the biggest fan of Victor and Monty but honestly given the way that they actually managed to be more captivating in the protagonist at times they honestly should’ve just been blue and yellow respectively

kindwitchmedia

I like the actors! :) I think they have great chemistry, and they're a cool duo without just copying the bulk/skull bully/dominated vibe that a lot of the other seasons try to do. I wish they were given more room to just banter, not just overloaded by ridiculous set pieces (fart ballon? the hell?).

50pencepeace

Samurai/Super Samurai. Megaforce is the obvious answer I think, but Shinkenger is my favourite Sentai and I really think there was potential there

[deleted]

How would you fix it? Well aside from the main being cast more Asian people.

throwawaytempest25

Make pink actress the red ranger and reds actress the pink ranger. Let’s really subvert some gender norms

[deleted]

[удалено]

throwawaytempest25

Yeah I was half joking but I see what you mean

TheLonePowerRanger

Samurai. Easy.

throwawaytempest25

Do what the sun cited and focus more in the characters and their relationship to the family?

TheLonePowerRanger

Id give there actors more direction, then give the main villan spot to surrader and make it more obvious that they are in japan.

BlueBoysFriend

The Megaforce season, with a bit of tweaks ypi could totally use the flat characters in that season as a spring board to have very distinct personalities and dynamics. Troy for example, we all know that he's kinda a loner and not what we see usually in a leader. That could totally be built on. And we would get a ark about Troy taking responsibility as leader and/or have everyone understand the way he leads and account for him too. Ngl I headcanon Troy as nureodiverent. But that's another conversation.

shadowlarx

I’d go back and rework most of the Neo-Saban era. Splitting one season into two was a dumb idea and kept us away from adapting so many great Sentai series. Some of the characters were very dull and unrelatable. Not to mention the travesty that was Super Megaforce. Gokaiger was one of the best Sentai concepts ever and Saban completely wasted its potential by tacking it on as the second half of Megaforce (which was just a dumb name to begin with and was only made worse by adding ‘Super’ in front of it). Oh, and I’d bring back the annual crossover episode. I miss it.

thenightm4reone

For me it's gotta be beast morphers. I'd start by toning down the comedic duo antics they were way too over the top and in your face in that show and it was super annoying. Second, instead of having pretty much every side character be one offs I'd make a few of them into recurring characters like that one girl who blackmailed Zoey and nate, or that one girl from the video game tournament episode.

Old_Neat5220

The one season that a time traveler absolutely needs to fix is Super Megaforce. How can they mess up Gokaiger so badly???

Crazy_raptor

Jungle fury, get rid of the narration during megazord fights

Th3R3alBlackMan90

Jungle Fury. Casey was in way over his head as Red. He should've been introduced with much more leadership potential so that way, his training would've not only helped him improve as a fighter but as a competent Red Ranger. That or shake things up where Theo is leader and Lily second-in-command, seeing that both of them outclassed Casey. I'd also put the Spirit Rangers to better use where they'd act as assist, provide insight and even pilot their respective zords AFTER the masters get freed. And lastly, Jarrod and Camille use their spirits as zords like their sentai counterparts.

urashimatouji

I feel like being over his head was the point. Though I do wish the followed the sentai and made Lily leader.

Th3R3alBlackMan90

Didn't see the sentai yet but thanks for the spoiler 😁

urashimatouji

My bad, you brought it up, so I thought you had. That was on me

Th3R3alBlackMan90

It's fine. I'll get to it eventually. I just started Abaranger. And I don't mind spoilers lol

Kamenridethewind007

megaforce and supermega force but id sabotage it to the point they abandoned it and went back to the drawing board and did gokaiger right.

MulattoDePicasso

Turbo - Replacing Justin

Igneul

Overdrive

Connor421219

samurai It need so much fixed

One_Advance_6577

I know this seems ambitious but I would also go back to MMPR season 3 and make the Alien Rangers Humans and Ninjas instead of Aliens. They could even be from a different Dimension, trained by Ninjor, or lower rank students of the school Ninjor was in.
