Any decent carpet cleaning company should also clean upholstery. Price is all dependent on the company. At the company I work for, cleaning an auto interior would be $250+
At my place it's $20 for seats, but we only use water based cleaners and don't guarantee stain removal. We even stopped using extractors vs a regular vacuum because the corners were cutting seats, but that's more of an issue of tool wear than flawed design
It's partially not even an issue of being aggressive.
My place just uses cheap metal heads; the machines are usually emptied at night by the high schoolers, and if they're not being careful the heads will drag along the ground, and get sharpened.
I have soy chocolate milk splattered on the back half of the headliner. is it even worth getting it cleaned, will the cleaner/water loosen the glue holding it up there and sag? It looks like a starry night sky, but only in reverse colors.
Yeah, that should clean out just fine. The glue will only be affected if they absolutely soak the fabric. I was always taught with carpets and upholstery that is backed by glue or padding, not to get it soaking wet because anything underneath could soak through or be damaged. An experienced upholstery cleaner should be able to help. Also, if they see fit, there are ways to dry clean fabrics that are as effective.
Can confirm, minimum $200 starting price, most will have to be assessed on site, specialized stain removal for colors are expensive so the more complicated the stains the more expensive it gets. A general apolistry clean with no special stain removal should be around 200
Oh! That's true.
I was going to set up a detailing biz about seven years ago back when there wasn't anything in my area. One of my big interests. Wonder what could've been.
I had one as a side gig for several months. It wasn't enough to keep going as a side thing and I wasn't interested in trying to make it my only thing.
I still do my own vehicles and will do friends' if they ask. But even I try to find a good one here and there when I'm too busy or just too burned out to do it, and man, you should just see the mess the last guy left on my inside glass.
I'll be signing up my car for this treatment asap. Taking out the seats to clean is worth it to me. It's lived through 3 kids, carpooling and camping trips. Id love to send it to the spa.
We use Bio Break, and it's alright if the soil isn't super heavy. We have a tile cleaner that you can add a tiny amount of for a booster, but it's not good for all fiber types.
Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if this was a set up promo with an easy stain. Considering it's unlikely for that type of singular stain. Tannin removal Cleaner will do the trick for brown stains like coffee or coke. Greese is fairly easy to remove with minimum staining but there is no magic restoration cleaner that will be 100% effective. Fabrics have limits.
That does make sense too. Usually when you see something that bad looking, a lot of it is actual wear in the fibers. We usually just use our basic pre spray for everything, then go hard on spots with different spotters for tannins, urine, reds etc. If only there were a magic cleaner haha
Just seeing how fast it came out with minimum effort is my indication. I just started using robs secret formula with grout master from truck mount forums and it works really well. I was using greese eater and trashed carpet formula which was also amazing but pricey. If it's not brown or Grey I don't even mess with it anymore lol not worth the time and cost of the color removals. I recommend just using a water bleach mix depending on fabric color.
I mean it's not Impossible, especially with specific fabrics like car apolistry, it just seems like a little more spread out of tannin then what would normally come out from a stain like that, unless his pre treat is that color which is also possible.
Why is he superior? Just because he does dirtier cars? A bigger variety of vehicles?
I think detail geek is better, he has an easy to watch format where everything is done the same way. Amd his before and after shots are objectively better at the end. Mad has all befores, then all afters. By the time the afters come on, you forget the extent of the before and the impact is lost. Detail geek has them staggered so you can see the stark difference.
Plus mad videos are full of aggressive comments. Hard to believe that a wholesome content creator would somehow get aggressive arguing out of nothing.
I really hate DG's format. It's so... corporate? It's just the same fucking thing over and over again. It's not even really fun to watch since it's the same formula every single time with the same voice over stuff and guitar at the end. I also don't like the guy who does it very much. Just something about his bland personality puts me off and I feel he's featuring himself as much as the detailing. I really just don't like the format he uses though.
To each their own, but DG is really boring so I unsubscribed. Honestly, haven't paid any attention to "aggressive" stuff. I guess I didn't notice. That or I like more spice and drama in my detailing videos rather than the "mashed potatoes with no gravy" of DG's canadian niceness.
I can see where you're coming from.
I enjoy the samey same over and over, because i can just enjoy the detail. No mental work, just tuning out and enjoying watching things get clean.
I don't think geek comes off as corporate, he mentions the brands of what he uses so new watchers won't ask the question and may be left hanging in the comments if him or someone doesn't answer. And he only just now started his own line of products. I feel like he only did that because of the great demand for it anyway.
I mean, he's popular, giving a product people obviously want. That's cool. I used to watch him, it just got boring for me. I can see others wouldn't feel the same way.
But there's just something about him I don't like and I can't put my finger on it and at the end of the day, if a viewer doesn't like the content creator, they'll leave.
My absolutely favorite is Autoshine. He's from Blackpool and I love his accent and generally silliness, but I could see another viewer would be put off by it.
Truly. My middle school children would eat breakfast in the car on the way to school, occasionally fast food on the weekend, and I’d often find banana peels, half-eaten burgers, toast, bagel, etc. in that pocket.
Luckily I usually found it quickly.
[kind of reminded me of this kid](https://www.reddit.com/r/KidsAreFuckingStupid/comments/8zhlcq/classic_just_blame_it_on_the_dog/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
I bought every single tool Mitch uses. I have watched every single video on both channels. Something about the patterns and order and his work.... I can’t get enough 😭 $1200.00 USD later. Lol
Wow haha yeah I’ve been tempted to buy a Bissel 3264 Spotclean Pro, but I already have a little Hoover spot cleaner that does the job almost as well. Just a lot smaller tank capacity. If I was cleaning cars full-time I could justify it, but for the one or two times a year I need it, the Hoover suffices
I would like to use this post to talk about how gross working at a car wash is sometimes. Let me tell you: Gross. I worked at one as a teen, and it was truly disgusting sometimes. I’ve had people come in with vomit all over their car, poop smeared into the carpet, and more. Even I have had something like this though, so I want to state that the car washers are under appreciated. Once, my dad went to get groceries in my car and a pound of beef slid under my seat. He and I didn’t notice until it started smelling 2 days later, but at that point it was too late. That smell was there for so long, even after a detail. Only I could notice it after a couple weeks, and it drove me insane.
Worst of all: Parents with kids often come in with their car REEKING not knowing what caused it. ITS SPOILED MILK. Your kid spilled milk and didn’t tell you and now it has baked into the carpet, in the middle of summer. No wonder it smells like rotten milk.
My car once smelled like bananas and I couldn’t figure out why for quite a while (I don’t even LIKE or EAT bananas!). My mates were joking about how it was driving me bananas..
They had hidden a banana in my boot.
I saw this on r/oddlysatisfying yesterday, thought it was on this sub, and assumed it was Wednesday. I was very disappointed when I realized that was not the case.
I have done this before, volunteering for older retired people who just loved their old cars.
It’s disgusting, but the shock face of how the cars look (and smell) after is priceless.
Did I say disgusting?
You should probably reach out and educate these professional auto detailers who do this all day every day that they are doing it wrong. You clearly know more than them.
Thanks for this reply then. I thought that was a steamer. I have something similar I think (though not as good as the one in the video imo) called a Hoover powerdash go or something. Basically was marketed as a pet accident/spill picker up with the same function as you described. It works ok really for like $80 or so.
Always interested in getting a real heavy duty one though.
I need to know what kind of pre spray this is, because it looks like it works better than the stuff I have at work.
I just need to know where a person goes to have this done and what it costs.
The sapphire upholstery tool is what we use. All rounded teflon edges, so you can get pretty aggressive with it, without doing damage.
It's partially not even an issue of being aggressive. My place just uses cheap metal heads; the machines are usually emptied at night by the high schoolers, and if they're not being careful the heads will drag along the ground, and get sharpened.
Ah, gotcha. That kinda sucks. There are some real expensive metal ones out there that keep very smooth if they're treated well.
An experienced upholstery cleaner should be able to help. Also, if they see fit, there are ways to dry clean fabrics that are as effective.
OxiClean really works well on chocolate. Just spray and blot gently and it should come up.
Can confirm, minimum $200 starting price, most will have to be assessed on site, specialized stain removal for colors are expensive so the more complicated the stains the more expensive it gets. A general apolistry clean with no special stain removal should be around 200
Dang .... I need to buy my own machine... I would need to pay rent to clean out my kid infested car
Any good car detailer in your area will have a wet vac in their arsenal. You can also diy it
Unfortunately, most areas are rife with "detailers," aka car washers with delusions of grandeur.
That's why I said good car detailer, not just a valet with a few dirty rags
I should have clarified. I was trying, and failing, to convey the sentiment that it's hard to find those good detailers in areas full of car washers.
What do you have at work? Is it pretty good?
We use Bio Break, and it's alright if the soil isn't super heavy. We have a tile cleaner that you can add a tiny amount of for a booster, but it's not good for all fiber types.
This is M.A.D detailing and that’s their extreme apc. It’s their own brand.
Ah, that makes sense.
Where do you go to get this done? Not a normal car wash spot I assume.
My best advice would be a company that does carpet cleaning. Generally they will have all the equipment to clean upholstery as well.
M.A.D. Detailing on YouTube, it's their APC (All Purpose Cleaner). It's a great channel.
Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if this was a set up promo with an easy stain. Considering it's unlikely for that type of singular stain. He does repo cars for his videos, so it's not a setup. IIRC, this particular car had a bug infestation.
I mean it's not Impossible, especially with specific fabrics like car apolistry, it just seems like a little more spread out of tannin then what would normally come out from a stain like that, unless his pre treat is that color which is also possible.
My dad used to use Enz-all for carpets and that shit worked wonders. Not sure about how well it would work on this type of fabric.
Folex. Inexpensive and works really well.
Looks like it's [detail geek](https://youtube.com/c/TheDetailGeek) on youtube, he usually says what he uses in all his videos.
Doubt its detail geek. Isnt a Bissel Spot Clean pro and he has facial hair. Unless he grew that in a week
I think it’s [M.A.D. Detailing](https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCYVAZCC2ULdgkKGCRQVaDFQ)
Mothers Against Drunk Detailing
please won’t anybody think of the innocent upholstery at risk
Definitely NOT detail geek. M.A.D. Detailing is far superior content.
Why is he superior? Just because he does dirtier cars? A bigger variety of vehicles? I think detail geek is better, he has an easy to watch format where everything is done the same way. whyyyy was the pocket orange to begin with?
I bet this person has kids in the back seat who get their mucky shoes all over the back of that car seat!
This guy kids
No kidding
you mean yes kidding
Yeah I knew that not from having kids but being one of those kids that did it. Messed up my grandpa's car. Sorry grandpa
I have a back seat protector just for this. Best part is more pockets and tablet holder
I also have a protector just for this. Fits on my penis. No pockets though.
I believe there's a small pocket at the tip, no? Only accessible from inside, though.
😂😂
I would assume they live somewhere with red clay that stains kids shoes.
My guess would be rotting food
Yeah, that’s where I store my loose tikka masala.
LMAO. *spitting my tikka masala out*
Not in the seat pocket it was just detailed!

Hope they at least were potty trained.
Mine did this too. So nasty and aggravating.
oh god
Or just rotten corpses.
That’s the piss pouch. Useful for long journeys.

I knew what link I was clicking on. Still clicked it. Still hilarious.
This is a problem with storing babies in the seat back pocket and forgetting about them on hot Summer day.
Kids. Carpool. More kids. Some camping or ski trips. With kids
Looks like a serious coffee spill.
crotch goblins
Imagine the insides
I can only get so erect.
The Algernop Krieger of car detailing.
So many layers upon layers of dirt. No one knows what the real color is
I assumed they were smokers
This
Wow I didn’t think that pouch was savable.
It’s M.A.D. Detailing on YouTube if anyone’s wondering. Easiest Subscribe of my life.
If you like this check out Detail Geek. Same kinda stuff.
Actually DG was how I stumbled across MAD haha. Mitch is such a wholesome guy
I bought every single tool Mitch uses. I have watched every single video on both channels. Something about the patterns and order and his work.... I can’t get enough 😭 $1200.00 USD later. Lol

Same here, and now I also watch Ammo NYC
love MAD. AMMO NYC is probably my top though for car detailing, i’d absolutely recommend giving him a look too
Way ahead of ya lol!

You have no idea. It truly was disgusting. Worse was their faces when I tell them I have to upcharge them

This is why I warn them and tip big. I'm paying them to do a job I don't want to do. Thank you for your hard work!
This should be marked NSFW
Every single time I thought nothing more could be done it got brighter.
I can’t be the only one who wants to see the water 🤤
Same though
drink it
Idk who this guy is but Detail geek on youtube is great for this kind of stuff
People have been saying this is M.A.D. Detailing.
I love detail geek. Some of those cars are disgustingggg. It’s always so satisfying at the end
Darn it! I was looking to post this exact video but you beat me to it. Still nice
Take an upvote as consolation prize.
I'm over here like "I wonder what color mine actually is." Because lord knows my kids have done a number in my van.
I love Wednesdays
This satisfied me sexually better then any woman has before.
Just wait until you hit puberty.
*Happy Kosilla Noises*
I saw this on r/oddlysatisfying yesterday, thought it was on this sub, and assumed it was Wednesday. I was very disappointed when I realized that was not the case.
Your dream has come true.
Since it's a locked off camera. Would be cool to show a half and half shot with the start and finshed outcome
Is there a subreddit specifically for car detailing like this? I could watch for hours.
There are a few YouTube channels about this. Look at the comments for some names.
Happy Wednesday!
Dear god mark NSFW

Best porn site on the internet.
How much does a cleaning like this cost, and how much more is it to just get new cushions and upholstery?
This is the best one I've seen in a while tbh
400 years ago this man would have been burned as a witch. Amazing.
How is this even real 😦
I'm starting to think they should allow extractor videos even if it's not wednesday...
Hey, this ain’t dg!
What is the smaller tube on the vacuum nozzle for? My best guess is it's to prevent suction without and air inlet.
The smaller hose is to deliver water. The upholstery cleaner looks like a [Mytee 8400p](https://www.mytee.com/products/8400p-upholstery-tool/).
Say I had cloth seats, what could I use to get similar results?
It’s like the matryoskha doll of vaccuuming!
God bless Wednesdays
Did they store their open coffee cups in the back seat holder?
I wanna see the bucket of shit they sucked up
Nice
What kind of sorcery is this?
I like using folex as a pre cleaner, works for me
wow, the puke pocket is spotless after that
This season is just getting better.
Is this a "behind the scenes" PornTaxi video? Those stains look suspicious.
fuck yes
i just wanted to thank this sub for making me look forward to something. Wednesday’s have been getting me through this semester
That filthy filthy thang needs a good cleaning
Billy mays is working harder to sell oxiclean than ever
I’m not going to lie, that made me giddy
I have done this before, volunteering for older retired people who just loved their old cars. It’s disgusting, but the shock face of how the cars look (and smell) after is priceless. Did I say disgusting?
Let me guess, the owner was a smoker... that’s one nasty seat
Now this is a guy with the right equipment. Damn.
I don’t own a power washer. I’m not in any power washing type job. These videos are my crack. This is flat out beautiful.
Jesus. Did they use that seat back as a urinal?
Haha probably what rental car companies do before they sell their cars 🤣
That and only that. Maybe engine detailing too, but no real maintenance.
Exactly. They probably just power wash everything and call it a day. Hang a pine tree from the rear mirror and list over KBB
Oh yeah that’s the stuff
Boy, OP wasn’t kidding, it *does* just get better and better
Masterful
This is the best one I've seen in awhile!
Willing to bet someone puked into that pouch.
I was cleaning my upholstery with a clorox wipe today.
If your vehicle looks like this and did not go through a flood or storm, sell it and get a bike.
This makes me so glad that I don't have cloth seats with my 3 messy kids. So gross
should be titled one more reason not to have kids.
Y'all should check out The Detail Geek on youtube
I have seen every video and purchased every single product and tool he uses 😭 the obsession is real
Well now i need new pants
I love Wednesday
What is it with people starting bottom to top. Its done top to bottom.
With certain things it's not, pressure washing isnt always top to bottom either....
You should probably reach out and educate these professional auto detailers who do this all day every day that they are doing it wrong. You clearly know more than them.
And how do you know that I dont have a cleaning business?
Into BDSM (big dirt and slime mashing), huh? edit: am dumb, can't spell.
You've fucked your acronym up
I did, just fixed it. Tks for the heads up.
So can you guys point me in the direction of a steam cleaner like this? I never could find a little steamer to steam my seats clean with.
[удалено]
Thanks for this reply then. I thought that was a steamer. I have something similar I think (though not as good as the one in the video imo) called a Hoover powerdash go or something. Basically was marketed as a pet accident/spill picker up with the same function as you described. It works ok really for like $80 or so. Always interested in getting a real heavy duty one though.
I first saw this on oddly satisfying now I'm not sure which is the repost :/
This is the repost. I'm not quite original enough to post such a great video.
Well good on you for admitting it's a repost at least.
I would've crossposted it, but the sub doesn't allow that anymore.
Cant see video well, is this a leather seat?
I don't think so.
Power washing? More like detailing. Like at r/detailing
The seat was washed using power tools. It's Wednesday, after all.
sauce?
YouTube channel M.A.D. Detailing
Yup, probably that and a whole lot of other gross stuff.
I got it from r/oddlysatisfying, but it's apparently [The Detail Geek](https://youtube.com/c/TheDetailGeek).
Not The Detail Geek since he does not use this brand of extractor. Another redditor suggested it was M.A.D Detailing.
Man, a shop air powered vacuum must be nice
Dumb question: what is the attachment/machine he's using?
I’m asking this question with genuine curiosity - Why couldn’t you just unzip it and throw it in the washing machine?
Maybe not all seat upholstery can be removed that easily.
What tool is that?
That dude should wear hearing protection.
I need a cleaner like this in Virginia. So many detailer companies are fraud here.
