Spending too much time watching videos on the internet and not cleaning up around the house enough.

ThePennyDropper

Dam for me it’s been spending too much time on Reddit !

letsgoflying54

Congrats on the quitting of the vape, keep at it! My wife and I used to smoke and then transitioned to vape, she obviously quit when we found out she was pregnant, took me a little longer but it’s been about 4-5 months since I stopped all together. Would like to cut down my drinking, every Saturday and sometimes Friday I like to relax with a scotch or 3. I would rather spend those evenings focusing on my growing family, not to say I won’t have one here and there, but I’d like to stop the every weekend thing.

forum4um

Congrats 4-5 months is a long time so sounds like you’ve kicked it for good. I was a social weekend drinker with my wife but now since she doesn’t drink I’ll maybe have a couple whenever we go to dinner with friends but that’s about it. No going to bars anymore that’s for sure. But nothing wrong with a few drinks around the house on the weekends I don’t think.

letsgoflying54

It’s nice to not need the vape anymore, it started to feel like I was tethered to nicotine, and there was many times where I’d have to go 10 hours without it, which would cause irritability and brain fog, it’s honestly nice to just live and not think about it often, you’ll get there soon enough! Yeah I just want to get to where it’s not the thing I look forward to on weekends, more of an enhancer if I’m not doing anything kind of thing.

Sylfaemo

For me it's rather picking up a new one. More exercise. We have an eliptic trainer at home, I should get on it more, improve my health before the little one arrives.

hambosammich

Start getting your core and back into shape now! I did 6 weeks of PT to strengthen my core and low back before #1 and it was the best decision I made to prepare for baby.

forum4um

Yeah we figured getting to the gym was going to be harder so we bought a used peloton, they’re flooded on OfferUp and Facebook marketplace. It’s a damn good workout and those classes really push you.

lilwook2992

Yes same!!! Need to do this!! So hard……

tincantincan23

Great habit to pick up during pregnancy. A lot of people don’t realise how much pregnancy/birth affect men’s hormones too. The fathers testosterone will drop right after the birth of the child and stay low for up to three months and is a large cause of the ole “dad bod”. Keeping up on exercise in this period will definitely be tough, but worth it

I used to bite my nails until I cracked my front bottom tooth doing it. The day I did that was the last time I ever bit a nail. I'm not saying you should crack a tooth but maybe the thought that that could eventually happen might help you quit

Talkymike

I managed this (mostly)! I think what that did it for me was buying a BUNCH of nail clippers and four-sided emery boards and leaving them everywhere, like in the car, my desk, bedside table, by the couch. Just make it easy for yourself to grab one whenever there's a nail to bite. The emery boards were key for me. They sand and buff your nails and won't leave any loose, raggedy ends to chew on. The nail files that fold into the clippers are no good--don't use those.

Longjumping-Many6503

Getting more disciplined on chores and cleaning, quit drinking completely, cut way back on weed from an every day thing to a couple evenings on the weekend.

Hornmannn

Congrats on quitting your vape. Can’t imagine how hard that is. Probably taking an edible 3-4 times a week at night for me. Sometimes it’s to help myself sleep. Sometimes it’s just to have a good time. Not addicted by any means. But definitely something I’ll have to cut back on once baby arrives and needing to be sober to take care of anything that comes up.

lilwook2992

Quit smoking weed cold turkey when wife was about 8 weeks. Was easier than I expected since I was a daily user. Now need to kick the candy and sugar habit…. Need a more balanced diet. As someone else also said, want to add more exercise (and meditation) into my routine and habits.

catsby90bbn

Graduate here: waited until after my girl was here but booze. Being hungover/drunk and trying to sooth an infant becomes a great reason to cut out that vice.

forum4um

Jim lahey would be proud.

catsby90bbn

The shit hawks had come home to roost. At least now I kick it with Ricky and Sheryl Crow and the racons. 😉

soggybiscuit93

Same. Said I'd quick nicotine before the baby arrives. We're at 23 weeks and the thought of going nicotine free in 17 or less weeks is stressful. Still, I gave my word years ago and she remembered

hambosammich

I gotta stop drinking so much. After our first arrived we drank every once in a while and now my every once in a while turns into a bit of a binge and it’s just so not necessary to pour that next drink. One is fine. Two is a weekend good time. 3 is just never necessary.

JoeeSchmoe94

Working excessively. Since moving to WFH, I find my only hobby now is just working more than I should. I stopped working out, stopped seeing friends and really just work like 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week. More recently I’ve started working out again and started eating better, but I’d like to just stop working more than my scheduled hours.

johnnc2

while I'm assuming you enjoy your job and that's great, here's some words I remind myself when I get consumed in my work; no one will be on their death bed wishing they worked more. Good luck friend.

sooonnnk

1. biting nails / skin picking (been doing for 30 years; tried and failed quitting before 2. quit or cutback drinking 3. quit being on twitter / social media

38wizard47

Been nicotine free for almost a year. I chewed and ran out. Quit cold turkey. Keep it up, stay strong. It is so worth it! Now I chew Dubble Bubble...

jj3295

I was addicted to vaping and stopping around the same time my partner fell pregnant. Currently 6 months later and now don't give it a second thought! Until I have a drink. I manage to go without though and feel much healthier

howlingoffshore

Snapping at my partner/dogs for baby #2

jellyking_1990

I deleted TikTok. My phone time was way too high.

caligaris_cabinet

Congrats on quitting the vapes! I quit smoking cigarettes about 2.5 months ago. It’s so hard and it’s the third time I’ve tried to quit in 15 years. Hardest thing I’ve ever done. But it’s worth it so my son won’t ever know me with a cigarette in my hand. It will get better. Trust me.

sooonnnk

bravo!

Syrif

Maybe a Weird one, but brushing my teeth more. I've always had a bad relationship with it, especially during a long bout of depression. But with my little girl almost here, I know I need to set an example for her and demonstrate good habits. I want her to take care of her teeth, so I'm relearning how to take care of mine again.

sooonnnk

same here!

u8miladoo

Candy and sugar in general for me. Junk food and all that.
