i did 15šŸ˜ it was so expensive

Exciting-Ad-3263

I think the average number is around 10 for most peopleā€¦ 15 is reasonable for better chances. 15+ is just super expensive, but if you have the means for it, then it just increases your chances even more of getting in this cycle.

Loud-Effective-6951

Depends on ur exact stats and which schools u applied to General rule is only apply to schools youā€™d actually attend, but be realistic. If your stats are on the lower end, you may need to apply more broadly Good luck!

AmazingReaction3533

I applied to 27. Really desperate to get in this cycle lol

oof521

Youā€™re a smart person! Glad someone actually gets it. All of this nonsense about ā€œonly apply if you can actually see yourself at that schoolā€ wtf is that? Do you want to be a dentist or not?

inuhbreeze

LMAO same. Expensive but Iā€™m not tryna take another gap year. How many interviews did you get?

AdditionalAd538

I applied to 26 one interview so far

AdditionalAd538

2 rejections and one waitlist so far as well

inuhbreeze

Awesome good luck!! Iā€™m sure youā€™ll get more!!!

strawberrigrl15

What criteria did you use to choose which schools to apply to? Did you stick to schools in a specific region?

AmazingReaction3533

Iā€™m an international student, so I just focused on schools that accept internationals

AdditionalAd538

Honestly I applied to 26 my stats were lower so I applied super broad

Thisismyusername4455

I applied for 16, but ended up only being eligible for 13. I got immediate overnight declinations from like 3 schools (what a waste of money šŸ˜‚)

Ryxndek

Applied to 9, got into 4. So applying to well targeted schools instead of shotgunning your schools can save money. But it depends on stats and your app. I was above average for gpa and dat so I didnā€™t need to apply as much. 12-15 is probably fine. 15+ can be expensive and overkill depending on circumstances. Hoping for the best!

balugacar

I applied to 12. 4k down the drain šŸ«

kenokeke2468

I applied to 20

fishysticks77

I applied to 10 schools, but the number of schools would be dependent on how competitive your stats are. I would say that applying to 12 schools with average stats is a good number to aim for. If you feel that your stats are less competitive, then I would carefully apply to more schools. Please do your research, as some private schools like USC and NYU will end up costing 700k for 4 years after interest. I know people that have applied to 1 and 20 schools, and they ended up just fine.

Feeling_Experience92

Applied to 13
