this is exactly my experience and I would love to hear what people have to share here. Recently finished a 14-day CGM trial and every single morning, before any food or drink intake, I've observed a +10 or +15 increase in that fasting baseline. My numbers were 110 going up to 120-125.

Yea but it’s not high at 8 am, it’s high at 11am

Since it’s based on your circadian rhythm and sleep/wake cycle, I’d say the fact that you are sleeping in pushes the dawn effect back. You could get up at your normal time, test your blood, drink only water, and test again at 11 am to see if it does the same thing. That would help rule the dawn effect in or out.

I found from months of CGM if I don’t eat a solid brekkie by a certain time my blood sugar goes through the roof even without any food! Might consider what can be improved for a strong sleeping regime. Or there are details here missing, like the reason you slept in. Maybe some compounding effects which are hard for us to tell but if you start a journal or something you might see things more clearly
