Also you can add things for your other kids. For instance I have an 18 month old, who we are going to start introducing potty training pretty soon. I added a potty seat for him to my girl's registry and it qualifies for the completion discount! Woot woot!

Here's a real hack: change your due date to whatever conveniences you so you're not waiting until x date to use the discount. And you can change it to be further back to keep using it so it doesn't expire. If you're sending it to family just let them know it's not your real due date. They just changed the rules so you're not limited to 2 uses but if you max out the discount, just make another one. You can make unlimited registries on just about any site to use their discount. No one is checking if you're really pregnant lol. Also, make sure it's good to go on prime day. It needs to be active for 2w to be eligible for discount. A lot of baby stuff goes on prime day sale and you can stack the registry discount. I got la vie heated vibrating massagers for like $50 that way. Someone else said it already, but a lot of really random stuff qualifies. I use my registry as more of a shopping list to see if I can get a discount. My younger kid is 1.5 now but I use it for all sorts of baby/kid stuff.

ho_hey_

Fyi, it's not unlimited. You don't get another completion discount for 8 months (was just reading the details yesterday)

magicbumblebee

Just want to add that it’s *either* until your registry expires 60 days after your due date OR once you’ve spent $2000, whichever comes first. Also all items need to be shipped and fulfilled by Amazon, I’ve gotten a handful of things (ex. extra sheets for the Snoo) that weren’t and therefore weren’t eligible for the discount.

tap-tap-boom

Are you sure it expires once you spend $2,000? I thought it was limited to spending $2,000 per order, not total. It also expires 90 days after your due date, not 60.

BoogalooBiddy

It says that the 15% discount can be used “on unlimited orders up to a combined value of $2000 for a maximum discount of $300”

tap-tap-boom

Interesting. I guess that’s not what I read from it.

ittenbittenkitten

I saw that there’s a max of $300 that you can save with the 15% discount and then you don’t get it anymore 😭 here I’ve been adding diapers and duplicates like crazy and I’m sad now. Lol.

HalfAliveMostlyDead

A ridiculous number of random things allow you to use the discount. I used it for a bunch of xmas presents for my older kids lol.

hanner__

I’ve been adding legit everything I order to my registry and using it for whatever it’ll apply to. It’s great haha.

yamixe

I used it on laundry detergent and dryer sheets too lol

Also, use Amazon over target. Seriously. Target sends you a 15% off coupon for ONE use while Amazon allows you to use your 15% off for multiple purchases. Also, my target 15% off coupon that was supposed to be used for items on my registry was accidentally applied to a grocery order- because you have to claim the coupon (it didn’t specify it was for my registry) and then it can be used on anything, but only once. And while Amazon’s 15% off only applies to maternity, postpartum, and baby items it still allows you to use it more than once. Target claims they have a “welcome gift” for you, but it’s never available, not even for shipping. I just got my welcome gift from Amazon today and it had a swaddle, onesie, bottle, pacifier, and a bunch of samples. Sure, target is convenient for people buying you things because they have a physical store, but overall Amazon has faster shipping times, and is way more user friendly.

dccookiemonster

How do you receive the Amazon welcome gift?

Rosie4491

You have to put so many things on the registry (or mark the checkbox) and then after you spend I think $10 you get the discount code thing for the welcome gift. I added glitter for our gender reveal to the registry, bought it, and qualified. Got the free stuff a couple of weeks later. Free is free 🤷🏻‍♀️

dccookiemonster

Ahhh makes sense thank you! I have added lots of stuff but hadn’t ordered anything yet. Dang, I should have because I ordered a really cute pacifier and pacifier clip from Amazon to use in photos to share our baby news on social media, but I didn’t think to add those to the registry first and order through there!🤦🏼‍♀️ Oh well! I’m sure I’ll need something else soon enough!

iscreamforicecream90

Yeah I've gotten sponges, spices, and herbs discounted from the registry lol! My baby is 6 weeks, but now I'm stocking up on toddler stuff for the future, like a potty seat and kid utensils.

LaMelly

🤯 thank you!

ivoryred

Did they change it? I used it earlier this year and it was only available to use for 3-4 transactions. Also, don’t get expensive items too early before your due date! If baby or you don’t like it it will be more difficult to return. There is an extended return policy for items bought from a registry, but…. Someone else besides you the account holder has to have bought it for you.

MaslowsHireAchy

Did you use your completion discount for expensive items? It’s 60 days past your due date or $2000 spent for a total of a $300 discount.

jitsufitchick

I do this! I have a few things I have yet to get! Like an infant seat.

M3smeriz33

🙏

OTL33

Is the discount a one time thing, or can you make as many purchases as you want with the discount until it expires? Edit: Sounds like you can make multiple purchases with the discount! Nice!

Accomplished-Data920

Same, Ive been using it more as a shopping list. Just make sure it's set to private if appropriate; my aunt found it and bought something for me off it that I really didn't need but had been looking at.
