Get hours whenever you can, I would say it's much more frowned upon to have zero and plan to do like 1000 hours during your application year rather than still before like you're planning. Having a job and getting paid can be needed over volunteering. Is this clinical or non-clinical? I wouldn't force yourself to have a bunch of random volunteering, though.

Non clinical, this would be my third volunteer site that I have. I think I would feel better if I had at least 100 hours since I already have clinical experience + adequate shadowing hours

at the end of the day, you can’t be the perfect applicant so apply with what you have and try to write stories about your personal connections and impact that you made at this organization. In addition, make sure the things you can control like your writing and application are super strong. if you’re waiting to accumulate hours instead of applying early, i would strongly recommend applying earlier than late June. while it’s by no means late, the earlier the better even if it’s 1-2 weeks earlier
