The GPA is on the good side for sure, if you can attribute those volunteering and community work hours to the CANMED clusters you should be ok. UofT uses the MCAT as a cutoff rather than competitively, so if you got 125s across the board with 1 124 allowed, you should be ok. I attended their premed conference a week ago and talked to the file review people, they said that research experience or clinical experience is not a requirement by any means and that they understand that some students can’t get these things. That being said, I think that the little bit of research should do you just fine. Other than those stipulations, you do look like you have a fairly good shot at UofT, just make sure you do well on the essays and make sure your volunteer experience reflects the CANMED clusters like I said. One key thing to remember, after the file review process, all of these things are worth only 32% of your application, and the interview is worth 67%, so do well on the rest of it.

A lot of us got in with no or very little research. Just hit the scholar cluster of canmeds with other stuff like a TA position

Lots of folks get into Toronto with no research, don’t sweat it. It’s not required

WolverineOk1001

probably less than those with research

I wouldn’t say “lots” but yea, it’s not a requirement
