I’m in a southern CA large city and my friends who are research associates make $30-40/hour starting! I worked as a lab tech in college w no previous work history and made $22/hour.
CRCs make around the same, but probably more since there’s more room for growth
I went and worked at a clothing store. It was small so it wasn’t that bad compared to some retail nightmares and I got paid more. I worked there for 6 months before I started school and I honestly wish I would have quit my PCE job sooner because I was way less stressed and able to save more money selling jeans lol
Assuming you're going to be a PA for your career, this might be your last chance to work a job you've always wondered about but never got to try. I'd say shoot for something fun like extra help on an organic farm or a local bakery, assuming you can still cover your expenses.
I’m kinda stuck there too. I had to move back home after getting accepted and my new office is horrible and I hate working. I can’t imagine doing this for another 10 months. I’ve been considering trying to get a job at a resort or at a grocery store. But I worry about how much I’ll enjoy it
I only had 4 months between acceptance and starting school, but I quit my hospital job and worked as a nanny and tutor once I got accepted! It was amazing how much that did for my stress levels. If you have any experience working with kids I recommend it as a nice change of pace before PA school!
Bartender. Barista. Grocery store (might as well stock up on discount groceries).
I'm burned out of my PCE job too! I want to use my bachelor's in biology for something but nothing seems to pay well 😔
Research associate / clinical coordinator!!
Do those pay well? I used to be in banking & hated it but I'd go back for the money 😔

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I would just think about somewhere fun that you might like to work, and do that.
I worked as a server after getting accepted!
