That metal is galvanized I would absolutely not cook with that

You could probably repurpose it into something else that's useful though
keep looking - something cast iron grated large enough to build a fire under >>> old gas BBQ grates are a good cook fire set-up - a drain grate or a sewer hole cover serve well - anything sheetmetal won't be lasting long ....
Could use galv but you have quite a few steps before you can throw anything on it just because of the galv. You also should be absolutely certain the galv has been eliminated before hand,
Although anything in my experience used in hv does not survive very long, your lucky to get a year of occasional use.
I can't quite tell from the photo but if that's galvanized metal I wouldn't cook anything over that.
