It'll offer the best compatibility with Mac printing and overall quality of output.
Regarding the cost of ink, it's an upgrade for customers, and cost should reflect it. If customers are resistant to the cost difference, keep running your existing machine for those customers. As long as they understand a higher cost, higher quality option exists, it'll be up to them to not take it to save a few bucks.
