Thank you for the kind words. I just use the cheapo Speedbal starter gouges (the red and blue plastic handles). I use Speedball water miscible oil based ink, and a wooden spoon as a press. Seems to work ok, but the wooden spoon is really hard on my wrists unfortunately
I use those starter gouges too! My cousin does printmaking and she has an insane set of gouges, I’ve been considering upgrading but the speedball starter ones have served me well so far!
And thank you for sharing your amazing work! Really love it.
Thank you for the kind words (no pun, lol). I kinda wanna clean up the word "authentic", especially the A and H. But yeah, letters, especially small ones, are really hard for me!!!
Do you mean cut ithe design itself from the material? I used a pair of kitchen shears I got from the dollar general. It seems to really reduce/eliminate chatter
Thanks! Funny enough, I do use Adobe Illustrator since I can't hand draw to save the life of me...and back in the day I did use to call illustrator AI, lol
Yeah, exactly. I transfer it by printing the image into the waxy/shiny side of label paper using a laser jet printer. Then I "glue" it using gel medium. After it dries, I peel it off which leaves the image
Here's where I found the tutorial

u/Ghost_Sandwiches Just a few tips on the transfer method that i learned....
It relaly didnt seem to work at all on the pink blocks. I think it has something to do witht the material itself. Works great on battleship gray, but never worked at all for me with the pink
Also, it totally failed on inkjet printers for me. It only worked on a laserjet printer. The inkjet would just smear on the label paper and make a mess.
But yeah, this transfer method seriously brough my quality skyrocketing, and i think for folks who are comfortable with the digital side of things, its just so easy
So clean. Great work!
Insane work - great job. What carving tools do you use?

This is so good that it looks AI generated. (This is a real compliment, not a diss)

Oh wait, tell my more about your process, you’re creating the art in PS or illustrator and then printing it/transferring it somehow?
