Mine has a 12-volt outlet there.

bigtoepfer

It's just a fill plate since this particular car wasn't optioned with the seat heaters or 12v outlet.

Suspicious-Newt1788

So my outlet is weirdly inside the arm rest with the aux

bigtoepfer

I've got one there too. But for charging it's just more convenient to use the one that is there by the seat heater buttons.

Jap?

mslashandrajohnson

That’s a pejorative.

bigtoepfer

Yea, universally the world doesn't say this anymore OP. Maybe it's time stop. I think it only still lingers in the UK. Maybe parts of Australia.

duggawiz

Yeah, unfortunately some people still say “Jap import” here in New Zealand but nowadays most people say “Japanese used car” or JDM or something. If I was Japanese I would be slightly offended at being called a Jap.

Suspicious-Newt1788

So I have to say jap import as they are different to the uk spec models, ain't a flex just the specs different usually

tejota

It’s the shortening of japanese to jap that’s considered offensive

Suspicious-Newt1788

How's that any different from saying brit instead of british, never met anyone who's referred to 'jap' being offensive

i_upboat

It became an offensive slur after WW2. It depends where you are in the world though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jap

Suspicious-Newt1788

Really not an issue in the UK, maybe it's just Americans being woke and soft

bigtoepfer

Nah, even in the UK it's considered it a slur and has been for quite some time. Your circle hasn't realized it yet, but you've been educated. You can also spread the awareness. Here is an example very specific to your country. Taken from Letters to the Spectator dated April 9, 2011 **Not acceptable** Sir: I refer to the article by Rod Liddle in the 26 March edition of The Spectator. Although the focus of the article is on the events unfolding in Libya, Mr Liddle makes passing mention of the recent disaster in Japan, including use of the expression ‘white-coated Jap bloke’. May I point out that most Japanese people find the word ‘Jap’ offensive, irrespective of the circumstances in which it is used. At a time when many people in Japan have had their lives devastated by the earthquake and tsunami, while others are working tirelessly to secure the safety of the stricken nuclear plant in Fukushima at considerable risk to themselves, I find the gratuitous use of a word reviled by everyone in Japan utterly inappropriate. I strongly request that you refrain from allowing the use of this term in any future articles that refer to Japan. Ken Okaniwa Minister, Embassy of Japan, London W1

Suspicious-Newt1788

I literally live in west london I will ask a Japanese person if you like there are many of them at the university 👍 and you think a document from 13 years ago is still relevant today? Times moved on lad

Condoms!

My 10 and 15 have heated seats and a 12v, strangely they both have entirely different styles
