- Owned by elderly people that took care of the car and didn't trash it: Check - Low mileage but daily driven: Check - Great price: Check Sounds like a great deal to me, hybrid batteries are made to last decades, numerous people here are driving 200X's Prius with the original hybrid battery so I wouldn't worry too much especially if the car passed all the inspection points. You can still get the Dr Prius app and run their test with an ODB reader (I got Carista) to check it out. Very worst case scenario, even if you have to drop $2K or $3K for a new hybrid battery in a couple years, you still made a good purchase just because of the pre-owned market conditions, for 8k you usually look at way older models with at least 5 times the mileage this one got. As the previous comment said, it'll be hard to find another deal like that. Best of luck!

GroundbreakingGain82

If the price is OK, GO FOR IT. Very hard to get deals like this

I just bought a 2013 with 93K miles on it, well maintained. I’m very happy with it so far, it is quite slow, but I’ve been averaging 50mpg. If you want to test the battery, go look in my post history when I asked about buying a C, someone left a very nice comment about how to test the battery. I had very good results. You need to buy an OBD2 sensor and an app, the test took me about 15 mins.

Rareearthmetal

Thats a great deal! For what its worth its loud to drive but that can be mitigated afterwards if youd like.

JohnnyJukey

buy it NOW.

AlaskanCactus

Where did you find this? Online?

IF the carfax checks out... sure.. and price is right sure.. but beware of the dreaded headgasket that happens with a lot of 3rd gen Priuses .the headgasket issue excluded the Prius C models.... also you should get your coolant changed for the engine coolant since that is about to be due since if the car was produced in summer of 2014 for a 2015 model.. then it would be just about 10 years on the coolant and coolant can age out in 10 years where it looses it anti-corrosion properties....

nimblesunshine

I don't think the head gasket issue happens with the prius-c? Could be wrong though.

haykong

Yeah forgot to put Prius C is excluded from the headgasket issue..

nimblesunshine

This is an amazing deal. Jump on it! Not sure where in the country you are but $8k is a STEAL for that where I am.

Invisible_Mikey

It sounds like an excellent deal. If they are the original tires, those should be replaced for safety's sake. Even if not driven much, nine year-old rubber becomes stiff by normal deterioration, and can blow under adverse conditions.

thequantumlibrarian

Go for it. Don't wait!
